The whole cheating discussion went on in the late stages of thread, from the start he had openly said he'd been using Genie Scout, and it was only at the end people started accusing him of cheating, which was later proved to be not true by one of the mods, I can't recall which one, as the patch was different on his game from others or something like that. Anyway, it's all in the story!
 
I thought all 30+ pages of astonmatu's Cockfosters story was legit.

Hadn't known he cheated. Shame though, it was a phenomenal thing to do that.

The last few pages are jsut spam as a few members argue over whether he cheated or not.

I stepped in and calmed it down, but looking at his transfers etc im 99% he cheated.

That was me, i defended him agaisnt all the moronic reasons given as to why he had cheated, but i still think he did tbh.

But yeah we can discuss that elsehwere, IRC for example :)
 
You started it though Jake by stating that he DID cheat. Whether he did or not doesn't make up the fact it's a good read. By saying something like that everyone knows it will stir controversy. So really you started people spamming. You shouldn't try and slander his story mate.

why do people keep nominating stories that are already in the contest? makes no sense...

Seeing as so many votes are going to already nominated teams, why not allow this to happen and take the top six at the end of nominating into the final poll during which everyone has one vote. This would mean the first round of voting decides the "cut," the second round a winner.

And yes, before anyone points it out, I do realise that as it stands I wouldn't make the cut! But that's fine ;)
 
nice idea but you can't really change the rules half way through. I'd have voted differently as I'm sure others might have

Very true. It is unfortunate that we have come to this, but I'd be happy if less than half the stories nominated qualified, that way at least we know it isn't a forgone conclusion when the poll begins. Anyway, a lot of time left....
