Yeah I haven't been able to 'get into' the demo. But I can put that down to knowing that I'm only going to be able to play half a season. I'm still pumped for release though and am liking the new ME and all the additions this year.
I cant get into the demo simply because its the demo and i cant get all the leagues i want and it 's done in 6 months. this is set to be much better than fm10 imo, the match engine already kills fm10 left right and centre

it will be better with all leagues active, but like the new chats with players, agents etc....but not sure about the match play, not seen anything so far that looks much improved on FM10.

hope also there will be a dark skin, as don't much like the demo one, although this is just a preference rather than a game stopper.

still looking forward to the full release, but hard like others to get into the demo as it's just for killing time until the full release is out.

you can at least start a game and carry it on in the full-game though so it's not like a waste of time if you know what I mean.

urgh I forgot how bland the original skin is brrr The demo itself seems good but tbh I always wait for the full game before i get into it and hopefully a oxolight or similar skin hint hint lol Overall impressions are its quality thou (H)

Try to reinstall the game , if it`s not working also , maybe you have a problem with your PC , with your video card . FM 10 was working perfect on your PC ?

yep fm 2010 worked perfect
i have now downloaded the steam version and the mirror football version

First impressions, absolutely love the game because I feel it has jumped on leaps and bounds in terms of realism with the introduction of agents. Sure they **** me off but it's all the more satisfying when you strike a good deal for a player you want.

The match engine is a whole lot smoother and I actually enjoy the 3d view more than the contemporary 2d ones. The player and media interaction means I feel more involved in the day to day running of the club.

My only gripes:

The match preparation area feels a little tacked on and not of much importance

If I start as a manager for a club (e.g. Spurs) people like Arsene Wenger become disliked, when actually I hold a lot of admiration for how they run their club.

Just seen this on my Derby save, Pompey given £59m for new players in the Championship :O

The squad page is exactly the same isn't it, and by "position" choice do you mean where you can organise your squad screen in position order, and the thing about two columns...how will that make it easier? :)

Well, with indeed, organizing the screen with goal keepers on left top and strikers at the right bottom, but, having two colums like in FM 2009 (haven't played at the 2010) is easier so that I can see all my players in the page instead of having to roll down when I want to see the offensive players.

ah i see what you mean, yeah I thought that when I got FM10 but you get used to it. Also, I'm a guy who likes a relatively small first team so the scrolling isn't an issue for me. I would be inclined to agree with you but I am used to it now, as you say, you didn't get 2010 :)

So far I am enjoying the Demo but as many others am just killing time til Nov 5th. As a first time FM player with FM 2010, I dont have a ton of knowledge at how far FM has come but I must say I enjoy FM 2011 as much as FM 2010. Some of the layout will take some getting used to and I must admit I didnt even figure everything out in FM 2010 either.

I love the Agent interaction (although they are asstards half the time) and I am a big fan of the new 3D Match View.

Here's to many future sleepless nights...

On one of the daily mirror blogs about the new game they were waxing lyrical about how much more realistic the transfer market would be etc, christ, on mine chelski have literally bought about 20 players on my game and sold none. hardly realistic. This guy kept going on about how they'd made it like it has been over the past year, in the recession, teams wouldn't be buying for silly money etc. Seems just like last years version to me. the only thing i like is the new in game 3d match engine.

Can't get into the demo, nothing wrong with the newe features just not the same without the full player data and being able to complete a season.

roll on 5th......!!!

I'm not being funny, but do you really expect a game to recreate a financial credit crunch? If so, when, having looked into your crystal ball, do you suppose clubs will be spending again having come out of it?
And, if you know the answer to this, can you let Si games know so that they can account for it before the full game is released and have a news flash added in 'X' year, stating, 'News flash, credit crunch over, clubs can go bananas!'
Truth is, someone like you wouldn't be happy unless they got clubs doing what they do day in, day out. Which by the way means, no West Ham winning the league, no Farnborough Town in the premier league, etc, etc.
It's a flipping simulation, not a sure fire prophetic guide to the future!

Loving the rant aslaram!! Couldn't agree more, however, Chelsea do go pretty crazy with transfers, they buy another player every week on my demo game save haha

I was waiting for the demo to come out so i could have a play around with it before i purchased the full game.

Ye its similar to FM10 but i really don't know how much some of you can expect it to be so much different, with only 12 months to develop a game that is already successful, small tweaks can make a difference and slightly improve it in my opinion.

The 3D ME for the first time i actually like, that is a big difference now for me to play the game this year, and the negotiations are good, except the agents drive a hard bargain from what iv seen so far!!
I really like how the game seems to have such a more detailed level to it, with personal relationships with players etc.

One disappointment however, the press conferences... although i put it as a criticism i don't really know how you could improve that aspect of the game anyway.

I have now pre ordered FM11 from Zavvi for £24.95, so am looking forward to that after a little taster from the demo.

Right. Except in the game, every SINGLE SEASON (albeit in the demo) Chelsea go absolutely batshit bonkers and buy everyone. The way the game is working, it's as if it is pretending it's a prophetic guide to the future.

Whilst I agree with your points regarding the recession, regardless of the credit crunch Chelsea have been scaling back spending in a big fashion. The amount they spend ingame is unrealistic. As this is, as you put it, a "flipping simulation", you want it to be as realistic as possible. Whilst this doesn't mean making EVERYTHING go EXACTLY like life, it does mean not having Chelsea have a net spend over 60 mil and no sales.

I'd like to highlight this:

Truth is, someone like you wouldn't be happy unless they got clubs doing what they do day in, day out. Which by the way means, no West Ham winning the league, no Farnborough Town in the premier league, etc, etc.

How do you know? You're assuming this off one rather irrelevant point. Please don't do that, it annoys me and leads to arguments in general.

Love it, I lay an opinion as to what I think a game should be, and we have an argument.......it's just like listening to talk sport!

I think you're right, Chelsea don't spend anywhere near the amounts they used to, but unfortunately, as a Chelsea fan, I can see that the media would have us believe we're still in for every player going, for massive fees. So I think in respect to the transfer budgets given on FM11 it's probably due to the media stories. Don't forget though, that Man Utd have got a blooming big budget and yet they definitely aint in a position to wax cash on the best now.

united have 20 million, hardly a big budget compared to recent season

Has anyone been succesful with a 442 yet? I can't quite get the defence right on my early demo test with Spurs.

I like the dealings with the agents and personal chats with the players.

I really don't like the fact that you go to sell Crouch and Defoe hands in a transfer request. I've always been a bit of a wheeler dealer and if selling my rubbish, unwanted players I've inherited causes constant dressing room problems, then I think that will put me off in the long run. I want to but who I want, and sell who I want. I don't want to have to hang on too rubbish players for the want of keeping a happy dressing room. I hope this is sorted out.

Wow, in my game they were after everyone! Maybe there's a bit of randomness in this game.
I'm sure in the 2nd season they'll have alot, lot more. That always bugged me with 2010. 1st season, next to nothing, next season,. untold amount came your way.
