hey
i dont have much time to read whole thread so sorry if i repeat some,
the download demo took me 30 mins and about 5 mins to install with direct x etc
i had a quick game, played few friendlies with Liverpool bought n sold few players,
im really impressed!
the match engine has improved alot!
i espec like the quick tactics during match engine live
the crosses have improved alot
ok i didnt have FM10 only FM 09 but i am so gonna buy FM11 asap! cant wait!

its always more enjoyable to have the players stats so up to date!

Mate what is your problem? Good on you, so you would have insulted me ( a newbie of some time on here) and then what? Wait for me to come back with a barrage of abuse against someone I've never met? Not everyone on here is in here for a fight.

Enough with the needless comments, aslaram just misunderstood the post.
Without a doubt a very good improvement from 2010, the ME first impression looks miles better, well that wasn't difficult compared to the joke 2010 is, first noticeable change is one can use FM2010 tactics and graphics pack.
I moved all my FM 2010 graphics pack (Mega Face Pack, Team Logos and Competition Logos) to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2011 Demo\data\sigfx\graphics, and on Preferences > Display & Sound, untick 'Use Skin Cache' and tick 'Always Reload Skin on Confirm', and the game really comes to life. What a beauty!!

ah i see what you mean, yeah I thought that when I got FM10 but you get used to it. Also, I'm a guy who likes a relatively small first team so the scrolling isn't an issue for me. I would be inclined to agree with you but I am used to it now, as you say, you didn't get 2010
Well, due to the fact I have 25 to 30 players in my squad, it is a little problem for me. But, anyway, it doesn't concern the page where you choose your line up, so, I guess I'm just gonna have to get used to it.
One annoying thing that has been dragging for so long with the FM series, and has nothing to do with reality, again is the apparently complete randomness that some players from smaller clubs are choosen by Sports Interactive database attributes experts to be attributed Stamina stats that are not only completly ridiculous, but more fitting of a sloth.
I mean International players with Stamina stats of 8, 10, 11 ??? in Premier League from professional teams that train every single day is absolutely nonsense. Basically you will be happy to squeeze a maximum of 45 minutes from them. Before half-time usually I would have to substitute 2 players, if I want my team to be at least in a playing level to challenge a result, otherwise as the Stamina drops you are likely to concede as players get tired rapidly.
I would understand if the Stamina could be raised quickly, as the player gets more and more games under his belt and match fit, but NO, the Stamina take years to raise just a couple of values, providing the player is still young.
Again it is a big let down!!

I'm gona start again as Tottenham on the demo as I want to try a wingers tactic as the 2010 game sucked big time, and thought they would be the best team to use on the demo because of Bale and Lennon. I'll start again though because I didn't expect a player revolt for wanting to sell Crouch. Does anyone how to sell players without upsetting the whole team? Or is the days of a mass first season clear out so you can play a new formation over with?

Ive tried the demo and based on what ive seen i wont be buying it, i bought 10 and it was a huge disappointment. Basically i love the idea of managing a team and preparing for each game but it doesnt seem to be like that. You can download one tactic from sites like this (not knocking it) and win every game whether it be a good/bad team home/away or whatever. I could spend ages preparing for a game with what i consider to be a good team and tactics and be 4-0 down to stoke 30 minutes in? Some will just say im rubbish at the game but i refuse to download a tactic that will let me win easily. Transfers aswell are ridiculous, you have to pay well over the odds to buy anyone yet when you try to sell you either get exactly what they are worth or less.
Yeah I've tried it with Newcastle and been quite successful, got clean sheets against arsenal, man utd and man city and beat them all convincingly... I play a high defence with an offside trap whilst telling my full-backs to go forward all the time, so generally I play really attacking, but in the match with city my trap worked, they got 13 offsides!!
However I tell one of my centre mids (cheick tiote) to hold back and protect the defense and I put him on the side of midfield with the weakest full-back for more wing protection...hope this helps mate.goona4life

but good to know the good old fasioned 4-4-2 still worksI have started a couple of saves in Demo and I have noticed one player in particular to be all over the map in regards to potential. Valclav Kadlec has been anywhere from 4 1/2 stars to only 3 stars in my most recent save (Man United with excellent scouts) Any idea why this might be? He was rated 4 1/2 with a Birmingham save.

He most likely has a randomised PA stat (so in some playthroughs he will be good, in others he won't). Well, either that or some of your scouts have bad Judging Potential
Have a look at their "Judging Potential" stat.
