Football Manager 2012 New Features You Would Like to See

Remember how in Total Manager 2004 you'd get messages of players causing problems on a tipsy late night? I'd like to see this, with it obviously harming a club and players reputation. Also, I'd like to see more dynamic finances- For example, chairmans taking gambles on new stadium/world cup bids. Match revenue taking its tole on money at the club- With fans not coming through the gates during tough times. And more clubs going to court and going into administration.

Female streakers with big tiggle bitties in real life graphics :D

training camps to help team moral... and being able to develop youth camps in different countries when youth can be spotted and signed before a local club from that country does i.e. in brazil, spain, ireland

dunno if its been said, but instead of players immediately becoming coaches once they retire, why do they not introduce something where you can ask your players if they want to go through their coaching qualifications to get their badges. Or if they dont do it during their playing career, they can do it over a couple of years by themselves.

Also, if you were to view their stats, it could say what level of coaching badge they had.

So right now, when I have a match go to penalties, my players score most of the time. When my match against a premier league team goes to penalties, all of a sudden ALL FIVE players MISS. I can take 1-3 missing and the other 2 being saves, since the goalie would be better, but not missing the net.

Make it that the difference in PKs is the keeper being better, not players missing the net cause their opponent is better

I would like they ability to upload regens that you like from the game so that you could use em in different saves(I've really grown attached to some of mine) or for other people to add in their games.

I can't wait for the financial fair play rule to be incorporated.
That will virtually make it a totally new game.
No splashing out for fun any more.

better graphics for the fans so you can see them going mental if its a big game :) that would be amazing :D

I think there should be like a separate game mode so you build you way up as a manager, like

Sunday League - Semi-Pro - Professional - International etc.

I also think you should be able to have meetings with your scouts about transfer tagets.

NO offence but that would defeat the idea of it being a football Managment game, may aswell buy Fifa or something...

To make it even more realistic, lets talk about the economy. (loan thingy). Even if you in FM 2011 have loads of money, but still a big debt, you will still pay during the 10 more years, or whatever. How about making a pay "all at once" function, saving a little bit of the rent.

How about these ideas?

1. Ability to train your "weaker leg" - for instance, your left leg is very strong, but right leg is weak - I'd like the ability to train the right leg to maybe improve the rating from Weak to Reasonable.

2. Currently we organize the order of our set piece takers in the tactics area before the game starts - maybe you can add a shout or a quick tactic change to pick the player you want to take a specific penalty kick or free kick while the game is running instead of relying on the order you set before the game. For example, you have a penalty kick in the 80th minute, but Rooney is listed as your #1 penalty taker. Say, for some reason you want Giggs to take it, you'd have the ability to select Giggs (or Nani, or anyone else on the field at that time) via this quick tactic option.

3. Set man-marking assignments before the game starts. Since we already have a screen for Opposition Instructions, could another dropdown menu be included to accommodate this?

1. I think you mean foot..

2. Not especially realistic. Managers wouldn't do this - though not too hard I suppose.

3. You can already do this - go to your players individual instructions - go to marking > Man > Specific > Choose who you want him to mark.

Thanks for the reply Joss - I did mean foot for point #1. Also, thanks for the tip on #3, I never noticed it being there before - was that new for 2011?

I'd like to see proper contracts for international management, IE Fixed term contracts, with fixed wages (and appropriate bonuses). Yeah ok so there's nothing to do with your wages and I'm not getting my hopes up that SI will change that, but it'd still add another layer of realism.

Perhaps certain countries should only give you the job if you agree to leave whatever club your managing. It's one thing to be balancing managing a club and like Zimbabwe or Mongolia or something, but I doubt England, Spain, Brazil, Germany, etc would want to hire a part-time manager.

I'd also like to see more bonuses. Some for managers, coaches and scouts, but mostly I mean for players. On older FMs you could have an assist bonus, so I'd like to see that come back, as well as maybe top league scorer, player of the month, man of the match, etc.

As an extension to this, I'd like to see certain players (mostly youngsters trying to get their break, oldies trying to prolong their careers and the injury-prone/long-term free agents trying to convince a club their still worth a punt) be more open to contracts with lower wages and higher bonuses. As this site explains, 'pay-as-you-play' contracts can, in certain circumstances be the best solution for all parties.

Yeah I guess it's probably been said already, but I cba to search through 10 pages and anyway, doesn't hurt to say it.

'pay-as-you-play'

I've seen a lot of those sorts of contracts with Dutch clubs lately. Ajax had a few player players (Taino & Mido) who played with that contract.

Yeah I believe Louis Saha has (or at least had) one at Everton. As did Robbie Fowler at Blackburn Rovers. Also, apparently Sunderland have offered Michael Owen a pay-as-you-play deal for when his contract at United runs out this summer.

On the flipside, Liverpool apparently offered one to Fabio Aurelio, and he told them where to stick it, so obviously not everyone should be open to such offers, just those who do actually care at least a little bit about their careers.

EDIT: Just thought of another thing that I'd like to see included. I just started up a Rangers game and found Kenny Miller's contract runs out in 1 year, but he demands far higher wages than I'm prepared to pay to keep him, so I've transfer listed him. Next thing I get a notification he's unhappy about being listed and wants to chat, but my only dialogue options are 'sorry', 'carry on', 'club needs money' and 'no future'. What I want is a 'your wage demands are unreasonable' option which would logically lead on to either the playing lowering his wage demands or agreeing to move on in order to get the wage he wants.

On a similar note, I'd like a 'I'm selling you because you're utter ****' option. I've had a particular player on another save who's just been terrible, and no matter what I try I just can't get him to perform as well as he should, he just won't put the effort in. Somehow 'You're surplus to requirements' just doesn't cut it, partly because it sounds like you're reluctantly selling to reduce squad size, but mostly because it's nowhere near harsh enough to convey my disappointment at the player in question.

And another thing is to interact with a player about their agent. As things stand if you want to sign a player who would be particularly interested in joining, you can declare interest to unsettle him and make his current club more willing to sell. However, it may all be for nothing if that player's agent turns out to be a total *****, so I'd like to then tell the player that his agent is difficult/impossible to deal with, then if the player really wants to join he can get rid of that agent, but if he's just after a big-money move, he can lose interest and look to join someone else.

Similarly, I've seen a few agents demand an exorbitant fee but not give a **** how little you offer to pay their client, so maybe there could be an option to warn the player that their agent isn't looking after their best interests, which could lead to either the player sacking the agent and making you a favoured person, or telling you to keep your nose out of their business and beginning to dislike you.

Of course, it almost goes without saying that either of these last 2 ideas should make the agent in question hate you.

love those ideas.. probly the best ones ive seen on here yet..:)

one thing i would love to see if manager personalities...the description "plays minds games, volatile etc" just doesnt cut it

i would love to see traits like wenger IRL, he develops youth players so well that if a young player is moving clubs he generally think arsenal is a great choice.. i see far too many youth players go to man city in my game and you basically know there career is over before its started because they havnt a chance of getting in the first team for years..

Less Sensitive Players & better conversation options!

1. Ever notice how you promise something to a player, but x ammount of time has passed, and they come back calling you on it, and if you havent reached it you can pretty much only tell them to shut up and sit down, in a variety of ways. I find that in many cases there is a lack of middle ground, i.e tell them we need more time, or be able to tell them hey, incase you havent noticed, we're actually doing it. Like if a player wants to go to a bigger cub, and you tell them were growing, but the season hasnt ended and they say you havent kept your promise (despite being no.1 in the league due for a promotion), you should be able to say hey we're actually number one and due for a promotion.

and in the case you're not the players shouldnt start throwing hissy fits and want to leave for every little thing. I'm scared to have a manager with "personality", cuz anything the player doesnt like, will result in the player being unhappy and wanting to leave.

2. I like being able to call up a press conference whenever, there should be fixed options like

- make an announcement: (about a specific player, leaving, new purchases, desires (i.e ask board for a new stadium, or player preferences). Depending on what you do this might put pressure on the board to succumb to your requests if the fans love you enough to protest about it. (i.e we need a new stadium! or I want so and so player, or board wont allow me to get so and so player even though he wants to come (the mechanics to have the options come up would be simple you could have the make an announcement option, make a comment about a player, make a statement about a player you want to sign (at which point you browse for your player). The game then sees if there has been research into the player and whether he wants to join. if he wants to join it can be included as a statement option that I the manager am saying we want him, and he wants to come. then the game should check if i've made a request to the board and they've denied it, in which case the option to say i want x player, he wants to come but board said no,

and so on and so forth

However, the board may think you're being unprofessional and sack you.

3. I want players to remember they've been at a club. Is it me but, when you sign a player, sell him and buy him back years later, its as if he's never been to the club before? Even the media acts as if he's a brand new signing. I'd love to see rememberance of being at a club. For example I had an AMAZING regen star in my youth squad, but being in liga adelante, he was signed out by a german first division club. being under 18 and not under profesional contract he signed for them. got him back 3 years later, it was like he was never hear. when he was at the club he was touted as a prospect so I'd have loved to have seen some media saying like, Manager has recovered/brought home club prospect, how will he fare after his time out, or somethign similar.

totally agree about better transfers.

regarding with clubs, I think you should have the option of 1. faxing over request, which works as normally, or meeting manager/club owner in person (which will of course cost money, travel/hosting etc, which for bigger clubs is a drop in the ocean, but for smaller clubs you will need to think, which players do you want to spend time/money on "wining & dining" the clubs staff to make the deal go thru. If you choose this option, the transfer mode should work more like it does with players now.

4. build personal relationships. in 2011 they introduced relationships with agents. Awesome. What can you do to improve your relationship with said agent. Nothing except offer him lots of money for players. How about similar wine & dine options to build a relationship (heck you could build in a conversational mini-game so that you discuss various topics with the agent to build a relationship, AND in an effort to not make it stale (this feature if implemented may not make it into 2012), so that we all know the answers to the questions to automatically get always a positive result, the correct answer wont always be the same answer to x question, it will depend on the personality of the agent (i,e if the agent is a straight arrow kinda guy, certain jokes/comments may not appeal to him that might appeal to a more ******* kinda agent), also this module should be updateable with new content that doesnt require a new save game to be made.

phew! have more stuff but I think this is fine for now or else no one will read it!
