We were into the business end of the CONCACAF Champions League, In the first knock out round we had to travel to LA Galaxy.

Sadly USA teams aren't going to get much better than this, 5-0 in each leg for a 10-0 aggregate victory. It just goes to show why Mexican teams covet the Copa Libertadores.
View attachment 338714View attachment 338715

We traveled to Colorado for the Semi Final, They put up more of a fight than Galaxy did but we still ran out 5-2 aggregate winners. It was always comfortable and never in doubt.
View attachment 338716View attachment 338717

The final sees us sticking with the USA but New York this time. Credit to them in New York we were held to a 2-2 draw, But that was rendered meaningless because we were 5-0 up from the first leg. That in the CONCACAF Champions League won and another part of the Hexagon complete!

Unlike the Copa Libertadores, Mexican sides qualify for the CWC via the CONCACAF Champions League. So this will qualify us for the next CWC. I will hang around to play in that and I have designs on winning it.

Those of you paying attention may of naticed in My last update I said Champions Leagues! As the reigning Copa Libertadores champions that automatically qualified us for this years tournament! So in an unheard of turn of events we would play in two separate Champions Leagues at the same time!

We went on and won our group in emphatic style bettering Sao Paulo despite drawing with them twice.

View attachment 338729View attachment 338730View attachment 338731

We stayed in Mexico for the first knockout round to face Chivas, A nice 2-0 victory in the first leg was followed by us planting our feet and letting our hands go in an 8-0 mauling in the second leg.
View attachment 338732View attachment 338733

Boca Junior who we found so hard to deal with last season were dealt with all to easily. With us emerging as 8-2 aggregate winners.
View attachment 338734View attachment 338735

We just about snuck past Corinthians 2-2 on aggregate but us progressing on the away goals rule! Far to close for my liking.
View attachment 338736View attachment 338737

So for the seconf year in a row we walked into the final.

copa-libertadores.jpg

I refuse to believe any country involved in the Copa Libertadores would schedule international fixtures to clash with a final that one of there teams is involved in, Sadly that is exactly what happend to us, all our Mexican players were away on international duty for both games of the final, Although we battled hard at home for a 0-0, away we just got mauled 3-0. This has left me with a very bad taste in my mouth, My full strength team are a better team than Fluminense and we would of had every chance with an even playing field. But what's done is done and we can be proud of second place even if I am annoyed at it.

Didn't that happen with Guernsey as well? Players away on finals, so just Asia and Europe left?

yes it did! Something that needs sorting before fm14. I will still go to south America aswell, it's only right that way

Everyones favourite man Prince Boateng is on the move again, this time to the USA.
View attachment 338816View attachment 338817

Only 3 players have been brought in, One I have already updated last season.
View attachment 338818

Damiano Romano
Pretty much the complete package, A starter who I fear the club won't hold onto.
View attachment 338819

Julio César Gutiérrez
Another starter for us and hopefully he can be as good as my coaches think he is!
View attachment 338824

We have won all our friendlies and we are in stonking form for the start of the season.
View attachment 338825

The very first trophy we had a chance at this season was the Recopa Sudamerica, Against Boca Juniors. I was a bit worried after the first leg but we really turned on the style in the second leg and grabbed out first silverware of the season.

This was my main aim this season, the club world cup! I have ambitions on winning this thing, I came 3rd with Tukoko and second with JS Massira, I have a far far far better team this time. 1st is my minimum expectation!

Up first were a team I have played before, ES Tunis of Tunisia. We should no offence to them walk through them.
View attachment 338854View attachment 338855

And so it was, they were never any threat to us. As an added bonus we get the very team who IMO robbed us in the final of the Libertadores in the semi final!

Fluminense robbed us in the Libertadores final and I was aiming to make a statement against them here. We certainly battered them, sadly the scoreline doesn't reflect that. 2-0 still sends us cruising into the final where we will face an old lady.....

A big day for the club, Win or lose and we will wipe out the clubs debt in it's entirety.
View attachment 338867View attachment 338868View attachment 338869

Win is just what we did! We led rigth from the first time we scored, Juventus never got back into it. Our 3rd goal killed the game off and Universidad de Guadalajara are the world champions!

The big surprise this year was we somehow qualified for the Libertadores instead of the CONCACAF Champions League! Don't ask me how..Here is how we got on in the group stage. Not quite the dominant performance in the group stage that I would like, but we got through.

The second round saw us spank Columbias finest, 7-1 and 5-1 had me questioning how they even got there!
View attachment 338904View attachment 338905

We scrapped past Flamengo by the narrowest of margins, Needing penalties to seal the deal.
View attachment 338906View attachment 338907

Fluminense again playing the team we lose to hate, 3-0 on aggregate saw us progress to our 3rd Libertadores final.
View attachment 338908View attachment 338909

So here we are another final for us. Estudiantes will be the opposition and when I looked at there squad I thought they looked weak, But when we annihilated them the way we did, it just confirmed it 9-1 on aggregate and we are South American Champions again! Not bad for a North American side.

Although i'm now free to leave North America, I thought I would try one more league. People wanted me to manage in the MLS so that is exactly what i'm doing.

chivasUSA.gif

Club Deportivo Chivas USA is an American professional soccer club based in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson, California that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS).
The club became the eleventh MLS team upon its entry into the league in 2004. Chivas USA was intended to be seen as a "little brother" to its parent club C.D. Guadalajara, one of the most widely supported and successful teams in Mexico. In Spanish, chivas means "goats", and is the nickname of C.D. Guadalajara.
Chivas USA plays its home games at The Home Depot Center in Carson, which it shares with its rival, the Los Angeles Galaxy. The club is owned by Jorge Vergara Madrigal, who also owns C.D. Guadalajara.

Here is how they are getting on when I take over, 5th in the MLS western conference and out of the open cup.
View attachment 338957View attachment 338958

With an amzing run of form we can still mount a serious title challenge and that is my sole intention!

That said we are in the champions league!

OK, my best advice is fill all ten off roster spaces because in-game there's no extra allocation money for leaving one or two empty. Also, be a predator watching the expiration dates of veteran US current or former international.

I really don't understand this league! All the player rules wont even fit on screen, all the contract types are beyond confusing. If i'm going to fail anywhere this is it.....

Its not quite as mad as some of the leagues out there...but it is a little insane. I don't get why countries don't look at leagues which work and just say 'ok we'll do it that way'. Managed a few seasons in the MLS on FM12, got so fed up with the draft system, the regional then final league system (don't enjoy the multi-tier in Brazil an awful lot either) that I jumped continent pretty fast.

But it doesn't have a patch on what i've seen of South Korea, they really are mental. I had my best striker who I'd shelled out a fortune for so I had a top notch young SK forward to build the club around, only for him to get called up to national service....where he was stuck into a national service football team, doing precisely what he would have been at my club....who then competed against me for the season with him taking them nearly to the title. A playoff final for the league (which also makes no sense) was how I put them down, but still.....what the ****....

This turned into some sort of hijack! My bad. Fingers crossed your players hustle for a great season so at the top of the year when the final signal comes you've had plenty of pk's, won the matchoffs, and let the kraken loose.

Brought to you by Doritos crunch time.

Read an MLS contract guide. This guide summarises it really well:

The only fault is that if you haven't used all your off budget spots Senior entry level contract players can fill them up.

Chivas USA are actually the reigning champions, They are in the position they are purely through bad management. The squad is actually brilliant for this level, Not much was needed but I brought in 3 players who I feel all add to the first 11.

Anthony Adjei
I wanted to sign this GK when I was at UdeG but he would never even discuss terms! But i've got him this time and he will walk into our first team without any problem.
View attachment 339266

Zhong Jianwu
Chinese international Jianwu will play in the heart of our midfield, He is certainly better than what we have so hopefully he can cut out some of the school boy mistakes.
View attachment 339267

Jheimy Goytizolo
Quite a coup for us, A full Peruvian international and a certain starter for us, I expect a hatful of goals from him.
View attachment 339268

This is how we will be lining up, It should hopefully sort out our short comings.

I lost my first game in charge and the last of the regular season with just 2 draws. Maybe this soccer thing isn't all that hard after all!

Onto the players I wanted for the first team squad.

Eric Diallo
A potential superstar in the making, I expect him to make the left hand side his own over the coming season.
View attachment 339431

Isidore Atangana
A little short but I fully expect him to have a central defenfer position wrapped up very soon.
View attachment 339433

Dennis Mair
Signed as cover, May get a few rotation games in the cup.

Well done on the MLS Cup. That's an awful draft scout the players yourself to avoid that happening in future.
