HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR TOFFEES
View attachment 84825

Everton will be going into 2038 sitting pretty at the top of the Championship following back-toback wins to close out 2037

December got off to an inauspicious start for the Goodison Park club as they drew 0-0 at home to Wolves before losing 4-3 away at Derby, despite leading 3-1 with only 25 minutes to go

They rebounded with a 2-1 win against Sheffield United as well as a hard-earned 1-1 draw away to QPR

These results set Everton up nicely for a 3-0 win at home to Crystal Palace on Boxing Day and a 1-0 win away to Ipswich 2 days later

Great to see a Premier League giant making a return.

Out of curiosity, where are Rotherham in this universe? In some games I see them make the Premier League but would be interesting to see how they fared here after 30 years

Pfft, made it look easy.

I'm intrigued to see how well your results tend to go - most of those players you signed don't look up to much to me. But what do I know. Enjoy the TV money over the summer!

Rotherham have just been promoted back up to the Championship after winning League 1, they've been a yo-yo club between the Championship and League 1 for the whole save

Haha

Most of the players I bought were just squad fillers/backups who I only really signed because I was scared of big clubs coming for my players (which didn't really happen, surprisingly, despite offering some out), the only first teamers being Vitolo and O'Neil (who didn't have to do much because the existing defence was so good). The results really improved after I stopped messing around with tactics and settled on a 4-2-3-1, I stopped switching strikers and gave Dalton a run in the team and he just found consistency which was good for us as he just started banging in goals left, right and centre

HEALY JOINS HAWKINS' REVOLUTION
View attachment 84471

Right back Conor Healy has today joined Everton for a fee of £7m

The Irish international has arrived on Merseyside from recently relegated Bournemouth, with Everton activating the 25 year old's relegation release clause

Healy, born in Romford, has 11 caps for Ireland and has appeared for Ipswich Town, Crystal Palace, Queens Park Rangers, Aston Villa and Bournemouth after leaving Arsenal, with whom he came through the ranks

Everton have acted decisively in snapping up Healy following the departures of right backs Sam Ecott and Cian Lally, who both refused to sign new deals with the Toffees

Lally has retired from football whilst 33 year old Ecott has signed a one year deal with Bournemouth

DEFENCE CENTRE OF ATTENTION AT GOODISON
View attachment 84422

On a busy day at Goodison Park, recently promoted Everton have brought in not 1, not 2, but 3 central defenders

First up is a big name and long time target of Hawkins' in Steven Orr, who's joined the club from Hibernian for a steal at £13m

The Scottish defender of course worked under Hawkins at Hibs, winning 3 consecutive Scottish Cup titles with the Tranent born superstar an integral part of his side

Orr had received admiring glances from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City but Everton acted decisively in signing the 26 time Scottish international
View attachment 84420

The second player in was Benjamin Fradin, who's joined on a free transfer from AS Monaco

Fradin, 28, was approached by the Toffees in January with the player, then on loan at Sevilla, running down his deal with the French giants

Fradin has played in a variety of nations and leagues, making 257 appearances spanning France, Belgium, England and Spain, playing for Nice, Angers, Anderlecht, Monaco, Brentford, Bordeaux, Malaga and Sevilla
View attachment 84419

Last but not least is Halldor Andresson, who's also been brought in on a free

The 18 year old centre back has earned rave reviews in his homeland of Iceland with the 6ft 4in defender already making appearances for Stjarnan in the Iceland top flight

The teenager also made appearances in the Europa League and promises plenty for his new club

MERSEY BECOMES GEORDIE SHORE
View attachment 84389

Merseyside has taken heed of Geordie Shore as Everton have brought in 2 players from Newcastle United for a combined fee of £20m, both of whom were brought to the club by Toffees manager Matthew Hawkins

The first signing made was that of John Jackson for a fee of £10m

Jackson, 23, joined the Geordie side from Aberdeen for just £2.2m in 2033 and had an immediate impact, making 9 appearances from January to May, bagging a memorable debut winner at Old Trafford in the League Cup Semi Final

Jackson's first team opportunities have been limited since Hawkins left Newcastle, with the 11 time Scottish international spending time on loan at Stoke and Watford
View attachment 84387

The second signing was that of James King, another Hawkins old boy, for a fee of £10m

King, also 23, was bought by Hawkins for £2.5m from Huddersfield Town in 2031 and made a few appearances early on but since Hawkins left has found himself on loan at Swansea City, making 75 league appearances over 3 seasons for The Swans

The Yorkshireman has made just 24 league appearances for the Magpies since Hawkins left and was said to be dying to get out of Newcastle
