BENNETT IN DEADLINE DAY SWITCH
View attachment 84352

In a stunning swoop Everton have nicked winger Levi Bennett from under the noses of giants Manchester City and Chelsea, bringing him to Goodison Park for a fee of £24m

The English winger, 23, had been linked to a move to one of the giants all summer but it was lowly Everton who swooped for the winger on deadline day, making him their most expensive acquisition and awarding him the number 7 shirt

Bennett joined Burnley from then League 1 MK Dons for £6m 4 years ago and the winger went on to make 128 appearances for the Clarets after the Biggleswad born wide man left his boyhood club

Very nice. Some top looking talent there, all at decent prices and home grown too. You must be pleased with your summer's work?

Cheers mate, Newcastle seemed to be shedding players for some reason which really helped me early on, we needed to get the homegrown quota up so it was a target to get as many British players as possible

Everton spent £67m this summer, a huge amount until you consider the £44m brought in through player sales, which saw backups and starters alike leave the club as Hawkins was ruthless in his first summer transfer window with the Toffees

First making his way was Tom Young who's joined Sochaux-Montbeillard for £1m. The Cardiff born midfielder, 25, has been in the wilderness for some time since joining from the Bluebirds, making just 3 appearances for Everton with the 46 time Welsh international instead spending time on loan at Oxford, Barnsley, Rangers, Montpellier and Gimnastic de Tarragona, making a total of 218 league appearances

Next to go was Vito Cazzaniga, joining Middlesbrough for a fee of £18.75m, which could rise to £26m. The Italian striker spent just a season and a half at Everton after joining from Real Madrid for £3.7m. Scoring 18 goals in 39 league appearances. Despite this local lad Bob Dalton has been preferred to the Italian, which the 26 year old can't complain about, with the England international 27 goals in 36 league appearances last campaign

A surprising departure was that of Zoltan Somsak, who's joined Norwich City for £9.5m. The 27 year old international was an integral part of Hawkins' side last season, making 43 appearances after joining from ADO Den Haag for £4.7m, but Hawkins just couldn't turn down the Canaries' huge offer for the 36 time Slovakian international

An unsurprising departure was that of Arnaldo Ortiz, who's joined Dynamo Moscow for £3.8m. He'd been linked with moves away from Goodison Park since Hawkins' arrival and the captures of Steven Orr and Benjamin Fradin sent a clear message to the 30 year old Paraguyan, who made just 17 appearances over 2 seasons for Everton upon joining from FC Twente for £5m

Last but not least is the deadline day move of Johannes Radschuweit to AFC Bournemouth for £10m. The 21 year old German only spent half a season at Goodison Park after joining from Hibernian for £7m, making just 3 league appearances. £10m was just too good to turn down

These departures have been coupled by a poor start to the season by the Toffees, who sit in 19th following an encouraging 0-0 at Stamford Bridge 3-1 defeats to West Brom and Stoke as well as an embarrassing League Cup exit at the hands of Doncaster

TOFFEES AT HOME IN PREM
View attachment 83814

Everton are looking increasingly at home in the Premier League as the Toffees end the year solidly in mid table

Conceding eight in 2 games to the Manchester clubs at the start of December worried Toffees fans but those worries dissipated as the Toffees embarked on a four match unbeaten run, beating Brentford, Stoke and Southampton 2-0, 4-2 and 2-1 respectively

These came after an incredible November which saw Everton draw 3-3 against Middlesbrough at the Riverside, with both Moussa Sanogo and Benjamin Fradin being sent off for the Toffees, with Fradin having headed home a 76th minute equaliser!

This draw, coupled with a 4-0 thrashing of Wolves and a 3-1 win away to Birmingham City made November a solid month for Everton, December followed suit, with the Toffees earning 10 points from 7 tough games

JEACOCK JOINS TOFFEES

Everton have today announced the signing of Max Jeacock from West Ham United for a fee of £4.7m

Jeacock has been Everton's first signing of the window following the sales of John O'Connell and Ismael Romero for a combined fee of £12.6m, with the Irish international coming in to plug the gap left by Romero's departure

Jeacock made 72 league appearances after joining from Southampton for £5.25m as a teenager but has found opportunities limited at the London Stadium

Jeacock has joined Everton at the end of a poor month for the Toffees, with the Merseyside club yet to win a game in 2017

As a Liverpool fan, how dare you! Haha Can't believe how much they are struggling. I do however like that they have named the stadium the Gerrard stadium!

I have no good reason to particularly dislike Liverpool, my teams are Wolves and Spurs. I just don't like them anyway, haha
