I could not get Cole scoring much at all mate to be honest, I sold him off, I would play Diamanti as either an AMC, trquartista or a complete striker pal.

He has 39 goals in 48 appearances.

Quality. Proper goalscorer.. great story mate keep it up.

Carling Cup Final Preview

Hello I am Richard Keys, we are here at Sky Sports today for Live coverage of the Carling Cup Final featuring West Ham United versus Everton . In a moment we will see our pundits views but first we will see how each team got to the final.

West Ham qualified through to the final after beating Southampton, Manchester City, Norwich and Liverpool.

Everton got through by eliminating Oldham Athletic, Stoke City, Fulham, Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Arguably West Ham have had the harder route to the final through beating teams like Manchester City and Liverpool but Everton have had to go through one extra round. Lets hear what our Sky Sports pundits have to say.

Jamie Redknapp said:
I think it will be a very competitive final between two very energetic teams. West Ham have the power strikeforce of Soldado and Cardozo and they are bound to cause Everton trouble. Everton, however have a very strong defence and may be very difficult to break down. It is a very tough one to call. I am going to sit on the fence on this one.

We also have former West Ham legend Paulo Di Canio here, Paulo what do you think of this match, West Ham have obviously come a long way since you were there?

PaoloDiCanio_468x521.jpg

Paulo Di Canio said:
Yes, my old team have changed a lot since I was errr there. They are now a great side and look strong in every part of the pitch. They have a great striker in Roberto Soldado and he is nearly as good as I was. I believe that they will have too much to beat Everton today, I will go for errrr, 2-0 West Ham.

We also have former Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall here to give his verdict on the match.

Neville Southall said:
Thanks Richard, I think it is going to be an extremely competitive match here with both teams not visiting Wembley much in the recent future, I am sure both teams will come out with all guns blazing. I just about favour my old team. I believe that experienced manager David Moyes will outdo Daniel Oakes in the tactical stakes and I believe that Everton will go home with the cup. I predict Everton to win 2-1 after extra time.

Thankyou Neville.

hese will be the key match ups in the big game this afternoon.

Players

Who will score more?

Roberto Soldado
imgRoberto%20Soldado4.jpg

v

Eder
ederEMPOLI1.jpg

Roberto has been fantastic for the Hammers all season scoring over thirty goals whereas his attacking counterpart has only scored four. Soldado will no doubt be the more dangerous of the two forwards here today.

Who will be the instumental player in the midfield?

Marek Hamsik
hamsikneri.jpg

v

Tim Cahill
cahill.jpg

Marek Hamsik has had a very good debut season here at Upton Park, scoring nine goals but Tim Cahill has been fantastic and has been at the heart of Everton's team all season coming in with thirteen goals. I believe that Tim Cahill will provide more attacking flair for his team today.

Who will be the rock at the back?

Mamadou Sakho

v

Joseph Yobo
yobo.jpg

It is hard to seperate these two as they have both had good seasons but Joseph Yobo has been a rock at the back all season for the Toffees and he will make it very hard for West Ham to get past today.

The big game will kick off in ten minutes and we hope that you are looking forward to it as much as we are. Join us in ten minutes for West Ham United versus Everton, Live!

Hammers triumph on penalties

Tomas Necid scored the winning penalty today to win the Carling Cup for West Ham United. It was always a tightly contested affair like a lot of people guessed and goals by Oscar Cardozo and Marouane Fellaini forced the game to extra time. Tomas Necid scored a cracker after 102 minutes only to be equalled out by an own goal by Jordan Spence. The game went to penalties and was a thriller as Marouane Fellaini missed the penalty which proved to sink the Toffees ship as West Ham converted all of their penalties. Daniel Oakes will now have the beautiful Carling Cup trophy to add to the Upton Park trophy cabinet.

I am absolutely delighted to lift this great trophy here today and am proud with all the effort the boys have put in so far this season, we deserve this. We will be partying tonight out in the town and I may have to show the boys my robot dance but after that, we will have to refocus ourselves on our future games as we have a great chance to build on this.

Hull hammered as West Ham march on

West Ham advanced to the Semi Final and another visit to Wembley today as they smashed Hull City apart at Upton Park. Oscar Cardozo had a great game, scoring a fantastic hattrick to help the Hammers to an emphatic victory.

Hammers scrape through in 'squeeky ***' game

sergio-kun-aguero-sergio-aguero-1521660-1024-768.jpg

In a game which saw the Hammers defend for most of the match, Daniel Oakes came away from Madrid with a well earned 2-2 draw which meant that his side advance to the quarter finals of the Champions League. Once West Ham got the second away goal, the tie was put beyond doubt. West Ham will now play Atlético's bitter rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarter Final.

West Ham scrape past the Potters

Tomas Necid was the only goalscorer today in a narrow victory for West Ham United. Stoke defended well all match but West Ham deserved the narrow win.

Young Brazilian shines as West Ham win

dodo-treino-corinthians-436.jpg

West Ham United overcame a possible obstacle to their title hopes today with an emphatic performance against the Toffees. Oscar Cardozo and Tomas Necid were the scorers as they went on to record a brilliant win. Dodo was the star performer though today, coming in with some vital interceptions and tearing Everton apart down the left flank.

Cardozo goal proves the winner

OscarCardozo_468x366.jpg

In a poor game at Upton Park, West Ham came away with a narrow win. Oscar Cardozo scored the goal that proved to be the winner in what ended up a scrappy game in which the Hammers were expected to win easily.

Hammers fail to hang on against the Black Cats

diego-buonanotte-river-plate.jpg

In a thrilling game at the Stadium of Light, it was West Ham that always looked like getting the three points with goals from Diego Buonanotte and Tomas Necid. Sunderland were defiant until the end however and came back from a two goal deficit to stun the Hammers. Manager Daniel Oakes will be rueing his teams missed chances to finish the game off and it may cost the Hammers, come the end of the season.

Los Galacticos teach West Ham yet another lesson

Karim-Benzema-002.jpg

Real Madrid continued their great record against the Hammers with a vintage performance that lead to a 3-1 victory. Real Madrid threatened all game and looked like scoring many more. The one consolation is that West Ham have an away goal but they will have to play their ultimate best to qualify for the Semi final.

Vintage Hammers performance ensures victory

610x.jpg

A brilliant second half performance from West Ham ensured that they walked away from Villa Park with a much needed three points today. There was not much going on in the first half but the Hammers came out with all guns blazing in the second half and grabbed two goals through Oscar Cardozo and Roberto Soldado.

We had another good month at the club this month. We played really well but stumbled yet again into what seems an unstoppable force in Real Madrid. We will take it to them in the second half but how they are playing, I do not hold out much chance. I believe we have a slim chance in the league if we win all of our games in hand but we will have to hope that Chelsea slip up and that does not look like happening at the moment. Still, it should be a great season for the club and one trophy is already in the cabinet.

I changed my sides tactic to the original one you used mate and turned Cole into a complete forward with the balls et to his feet and he had bagged 20 league goals. I still couldn't get Diamanti to score with the set up you suggested so I moved him to the amc slot and he was doing well b4 a long term injury, the guy is annoying as his stats are very decent but he doesn't score lol. I won the Carling cup as well, beat Liverpool in the semi and Tottenham in the final, also finished 7th in the prem with really solid home form but poor away form. Might have to make the tactic a little more balanced for the away games

I think I am going to release my tactic soon because I have had relative success with it! Would anyone be interested in trying it?

hey dan the man, glad to see your story back up and running again, great stuff and great read pal :P keep up the good work!
