Bolton 2-2 West Ham
Barclays Premier League
Vogel, Verratti

A gritty performance from Bolton saw them hold champions West Ham at the Reebok tonight. Daniele Pepe gave Bolton the lead with a great finish from the edge of the area, before Swiss wonderkid Daniel Vogel smashed home an equaliser just before half time. Italian midfielder Marco Verratti turned the game around with a fine piece of individual skill before driving low into the corner and sending West Ham ahead. But, Daniel Vogel's Swiss international strike partner Brown Ideye scored a late equaliser and forced the two sides to share the points.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I think we played well enough to win most games this season, but Bolton seemed to want it a bit more than us and deserved their point. We shouldn't have lost concentration so late on and we'll need to work on it for the future.

Walter Zenga said:
We were very good today. We went about our game plan well, and played our game well. We took our chances, and fully deserved the point we got today. Great performance.

West Ham 1-1 Man City
Barclays Premier League
Verratti - Veloso sent off

A very even game got a deserved draw as both sides went out looking for a victory. In a game low on goals but high in entertainment, it was the away side who took the lead as Gilberto Jardon scored past his own goalkeeper to put his team behind after just 13 minutes. Miguel Veloso was then sent off for an elbow but West Ham didn't give in and Italian Marco Verratti 2nd in 2 games as he volleyed home from the edge of the area to bag his team a vital point in the title race.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I think we played very well today. We were unlucky with the own goal as we were dominant at that point, but we kept our heads even after Miguel's moment of madness and we got our rewards with Marco's goal. Deserved point in my opinion.

Juande Ramos said:
We weren't that good today I don't think. We could have got the win but we let it slip to a team with 10 men. But that is what champions do, and we'll need to adopt that attitude if we want to become champions at the end of the season.

West Ham 3-1 Schalke
UEFA Champions League
Soldado, Vogel, Kjaer

Another world class performance from West Ham saw them take all 3 points at Upton Park in an action packed first half. Roberto Soldado put them ahead after just 2 minutes with a fine finish low into the corner. Fedor Zaitsev bagged a cheeky equaliser as he intercepted Akinfeev's goal kick before tucking it in the net. Daniel Vogel though restored West Ham's lead on 27 minutes before Simon Kjaer rounded off the scoring on 34 minutes with a thumping header from King's corner.

Daniel Feliciano said:
A great performance. We went out all guns blazing and got the 3 points we wanted. Very pleased with the result and performance, and we must build on it now with Man City next in the cup and Chelsea next in the league.

Felix Magath said:
We played well but they played better. Simple as that. I have nothing else to say.

Man City 0-1 West Ham
Carling Cup 4th Round
Soldado

A late Roberto Soldado goal saw the Carling Cup holders seal their passage through to the 5th round after a phenomenal performance at the City of Manchester Stadium. After having the home side pinned back for pretty much the entire game, it was only fitting that club legend Roberto Soldado would smash the ball into the top corner to give his side the victory.

Daniel Feliciano said:
It was a truly memorable performance tonight. We completely battered them in their own back yard and 100% deserved our victory. We were phenomenal and stopped them doing anything worth mentioning. Roberto's goals was phenominally taken and it was fitting that he got the winner. Bring on Chelsea!

Juande Ramos said:
It's very difficult to play this team, but even more so when they play like that. We weren't able to do anything, we barely got out of our own half and I'm shocked at the performance. Really poor.

West Ham 2-0 Chelsea
Barclays Premier League
Soldado x2

Another phenomenal performance from the Hammers saw them get a massive 3 points in the title race over league leaders Chelsea. A Roberto Soldado brace in the final 10 minutes wrapped up the points at Upton Park and Feliciano was ecstatic.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Wonderful stuff from us. We were exceptional. We kept them away from our whole half and tried to just pepper shots at them. It worked but their keeper was level to it, but we broke through and it made the floodgates open.

Carlo Ancelotti said:
We were stopped today. We couldn't get out of the blocks and they put the burners on us. We struggled and didn't deserve anything today.

Spain

Holland 0-1 Spain
Friendly
Silva

A fine performance saw Spain control posession and walk out of Amsterdam with a big win over Holland. David Silva's close range tap in was enough for the Spaniards after great work by Sergio Canales saw him beat two men before laying it off for Silva to smash into an empty net.

November 2015

Schalke 2-0 West Ham
UEFA Champions League

A truly poor performance from West Ham saw them defeated in Germany comfortably. An error from Jack Rodwell in the first minute allowed former Arsenal striker Eduardo to score with a fine finish into the corner. West Ham never recovered from then on and it was only a matter of time before Said Rouissi wrapped up the win with a header with 10 minutes to go.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Easily our worst performance of the season. We struggled to do anything right and were deservedly beaten on the night. We have to bounce back against Ipswich at the weekend and get back to winning ways.

Felix Magath said:
I thought we were fantastic today. We got a very early goal against a strong team and it caught them off guard. The fans were excellent and got behind us all the way throughout and we finally managed to get the second goal to finish them off. Very pleased.

Ipswich 1-3 West Ham
Barclays Premier League
Dzeko x3

A phenomenal hat-trick from Bosnian Edin Dzeko got the champions back on track after their midweek defeat. 3 world class strikes from the former Barcelona hitman showed why former manager Daniel Oakes was chasing him for so long, and this has certainly helped towards justifying his hefty price tag.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I thought we were excellent today. We strung our passes together well, and also managed to put together some fantastic moves. Only thing that could have made it better would have been a clean sheet, but I'll take this result.

Ian Goodison said:
We were ok today. I think that had we played anyone else then we may have got something out of this, but this team is something special. Unlucky to my lads, and I hope that we can build on this performance.

Portsmouth 0-3 West Ham
Barclays Premier League
Hamsik, King, Vogel

Marek Hamsik and Steve King bagged their first goals of the season in a comfortable victory for West Ham at Fratton Park. A fine long range strike from the Slovakian opened the scoring, before English wonderkid King slotted home from close range to finish off a fine team move. Swiss striker Daniel Vogel completed the rout with a fine individual run from the half way line before smashing the ball low into the net past the rooted Pompey keeper.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Another confident performance from us and I believe we have bounced back extremely well from the defeat at the start of the month.

Avram Grant said:
We struggled to keep up with their pace and strength and we well beaten in the end. We must improve.

Olympiakos 0-5 West Ham
UEFA Champions League
Soldado x3, Francis, Rodwell

A magnificent away performance from West Ham saw them romp to victory in Greece over Olympiakos. A wonderful hat-trick from Roberto Soldado plus goals from Englishmen Alex Francis and Jack Rodwell saw the Hammers pull off one of Europe's great European away day performances in recent times.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I think we have well and truly shown everyone that the Schalke game was a bump in the road and we are well and truly over it now. Another great performance and a fine victory. We must keep it up though, we can't afford to slack off.

Zico said:
We were poor. I don't want to talk about it.

West Ham 2-0 Crystal Palace
Barclays Premier League
Soldado, Vogel

A comfortable victory for the Hammers saw them pick up 3 points in their only home game of the month. They came back from Greece after a fantastic victory and used their strong squad well and goals from legendary striker Roberto Soldado and the new breed Daniel Vogel saw them cruise to an easy win.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were strong in the tackle, and completed our passes well. I'm very pleased with the performance and of course with the result.

Hugo Sanchez said:
We struggled to get the win because they are better than us. Simple as that, and there is nothing else that can be said for it.

A good array of signings for the club IMO. Looking towards the future with all the signings too.

Eric Kupiers was a very hot prospect being chased by a number of top European clubs. He looks a good finisher and will get his experience in the cup games this season and probably next.

Diego Redondo we wrapped up during the close window and he has now completed his move. For such a young lad he shows great promise and will be excellent with more experience and game time.

Rene Sabajo was signed to add some competition for the CM positions. He has great stats for a 20 year old and was being chased by Chelsea, Schalke and Crystal Palace.

Outs

Jesus Gamez (30 yo) - Valencia - Right Back - £9M
Andres Montaro (22 yo) - Olympique Lyonnais - Right Winger - Loan (£7.5M buy option)

A very good 2 months, which included an incredible 17 matches and plenty of goals. A memorable win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in which they won 4-1 which included a magnificent Daniel Vogel hat-trick.
They also reached the Carling Cup final after a mouth watering tie with Tottenham in which they won the first leg comfortably 4-1 with a brace from Roberto Soldado. However the second leg was far from settled, as Tottenham won the game 3-0 and forced the game into extra time. However, substitute Daniel Vogel's goal brought the Hammers back into it and in the end a weakened Hammers team got the victory in a thrilling encounter which ended 4-2 on the night and 6-5 on aggregate. They will face Aston Villa in the final at Wembley.
In Europe, West Ham have been drawn with Italian giants and European champions Inter Milan in the First Knockout Round. The first leg of the tie will be played at Upton Park before the Hammers travel to the San Siro to discover if they will make it to the Quarter Finals.

League Table

West Ham sit second in the league, 3 points behind league leaders Chelsea after 24 games. The Premier League champions have a greater goal difference than Chelsea but despite beating their title rivals earlier in the season still trail them on points, showing that too many draws can prove costly in the title race.

Just curious, what skin are you using there?? :) Great story so far, long may it continue :D

Update coming soon, including Carling Cup Final result.

West Ham 3-1 Arsenal AET
FA Cup 4th Round (Replay)
Sabajo, Francis, Oliveira

A well deserved win for West Ham at Upton Park tonight as they overcame London rivals Arsenal to reach the 5th round of the FA Cup. Rene Sabajo smashed home a goal 2 minutes into his debut. A truly sensational goal from the edge of the area. It was all West Ham until very late on when Nikita Vasilijev conceded a penalty which was smashed in by Marko Mitrovic. Extra time goals from substitute Alex Francis and Brazilian striker Oliveira saw the Hammers come out deserved winners.

Daniel Feliciano said:
A fantastic performance. We completely deserved it and we'll see Wigan in the next round.

Stanley Menzo said:
We were unlucky today. They were better than us on the night but I thought we held out well but ultimately we were punished.

Birmingham 1-5 West Ham
Barclays Premier League
Dzeko x2, Oliveira x2, Canales

A magnificent away performance from the Champions showed that they are far from out of the title race, as Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti had claimed earlier in the week. Edin Dzeko and the in form Oliveira fired in a brace each before Sergio Canales scored a beauty after being given a rare start.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Once again we showed real fight and quality. Our finishing has been excellent and I don't see us not scoring any time soon.

Sol Campbell said:
We were weak at the back tonight. They smothered us completely and we just couldn't handle their offensive quality.

Edin Dzeko kept up his fantastic form and in turn kept up West Ham's unbeaten streak. A point blank range header from the big Bosnian gave them the lead and the win and they stay tight to Chelsea.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We struggled tonight. They put in a good performance but we battled like Champions and got our rewards.

Tony Adams said:
We did well. One moment where we lost focus and we were punished. They are a proper title chasing team, and did their job well.

West Ham 2-0 Wigan
FA Cup 5th Round
Vogel, Rogerio

A routine victory for West Ham saw them cruise into the 6th round of the FA Cup at Upton Park. Wigan didn't look like they were going to cause any problems and West Ham scored two basic goals to see them into the next round.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Routine for us really. We expected them to defend and we worked on breaking teams down during the week. It paid off.

Roberto Martinez said:
We tried to keep the game compact and hit them on the break but we couldn't do it. We played well though, and will take heart from the performance.

West Ham 2-0 Inter Milan
UEFA Champions League - First Knockout Round
Verratti, Vasilijev

A wonderful performance from West Ham saw them beat the holders in the Champions League First Knockout Round First Leg tonight at Upton Park. Marco Verratti scored a penalty in the first half to put his side ahead before a late header from Nikita Vasilijev gave the Hammers a cushion going into the San Siro in a fortnight for the second leg.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were fantastic. We showed great character and definitely deserved this result. We will look forward to going to Italy and we will look to win their too. We won't try and defend this lead.

Jose Mourinho said:
We should have done better. He was tactically better than me today, but it's only half time, and they must still come to the fortress that is the San Siro. Will be interesting in 2 weeks time.

Man City 2-2 West Ham
Barclays Premier League
Hamsik, Oliveira

A great game for the neutrals ended in a draw today with Man City striker Jo snatching a late equaliser for the Manchester side. Carlos Tevez put his side ahead after slack defending, before Marek Hamsik and Oliveira put their side ahead with two fine finishes. Jo however had the last say with a flick from inside the 6 yard box which meant the two title challengers were forced to share the points.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We deserved the win. We lost focus twice and conceded twice, poor on our part and we'll have to do better than that next time around.

Juande Ramos said:
We were clinical today. We may have been able to score 3 or 4 but their keeper was very good today. We could have won, but we'll take a point.

Carling Cup Final
Dzeko

A memorable performance from West Ham meant that they kept up their trophy tradition and claimed their 3rd consecutive Carling Cup trophy. Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko slotted home his 25th goal of the season early on and it proved enough for the London side to claim the victory.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I'm very pleased to have continued Dan's tradition and to have won this trophy for this great club. We deserved to win this trophy with the performances we've put in over the course of the season and hopefully we can kick on from this triumph and win some more trophies come May.

Aston Villa manager was unavailable for comment.

March 2016

West Ham 3-0 Aston Villa
FA Cup 6th Round
Oliveira x3

A phenomenal hat-trick from Brazilian striker Oliveira saw West Ham cruise into the Semi-Finals of the FA Cup. A point blank range header, a first time finish with his left foot and a magnificent solo goal in which he beat 4 players before smashing a right foot strike into the roof of the net were a fantastic way for the Brazilian to show off his talents and send West Ham into the Wembley matches.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Oliveira was incredible today. He's been in fantastic form recently but that showed the level of confidence he has at the moment. They couldn't cope with him and he just doesn't look like missing when he shoots.

Martin O'Neill said:
We were poor today. We wanted to get revenge for the Carling Cup defeat, but we were well and truly beaten. We have to just concentrate on the league now.

Inter Milan 0-4 West Ham
UEFA Champions League First Knockout Round 2nd Leg
Hamsik, Verratti x3

A beautiful but fortunate hat-trick for Italian wonderkid Marco Verratti saw Inter Milan turn in one of the greatest European away day performances in history. Marek Hamsik slammed home a right foot strike after some great work from Verratti to make it 3-0 on aggregate and give the Hammers an away goal to pretty much wrap up the tie. Marco Verratti then stepped up to the spot to slam home a penalty, before slashing home a second penalty on the night and a third in the tie. He then finished off a superb break away and completed his hat-trick.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Marco was excellent today, and the entire team played phenomenally. We have battered the holders of the competition home and away, so why can't we win this competition?

Jose Mourinho said:
I don't know what happened. We didn't do anything right. This manager.. He is something special.

Another fine performance from the Champions closed the defecit down to just 6 points, with 2 games in hand over their London rivals. Marek Hamsik scored his 2nd goal in as many games before a fine brace from Edin Dzeko sealed the win and showed that the Champions are far from out of the race.

Daniel Feliciano said:
That is exactly what I wanted from the boys. I wanted us to take the game to them from the start and keep the pressure up on them. We did that and got our rewards.

Carlo Ancelotti said:
We struggled today. They were better than us everywhere on the pitch, but we are still top of the league so it's all good where I am.

Another fine performance from West Ham saw them clinch an all important 3 points against weaker opposition. Oliveira kept up his fine form in his first start since his hat-trick against Aston Villa before Gilberto Jardon scored a fine header late on to wrap up the victory.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We showed character in this game. They parked the bus from the opening minute but we managed to break a couple of windows and get a couple of goals. Great win for us.

Owen Coyle said:
We stuck to our game plan and that was to keep them from scoring. Unfortunately they were that strong that they managed to break us down and get a win. We must move on now.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were comfortable all throughout and I thought we were clinical too. We always looked dangerous and we could have had 4 or 5 tonight. Great performance. Very impressed.

Ian Goodison said:
We weren't so good, but there's not much you can do when you come up against a side of this quality in the form they're in. We must put this behind us and move on to the next game.

Roberto Soldado finally broke his goal drought with a great hat-trick in a great win for the Hammers. He then slotted home after a defensive error, and completed his hat-trick with a header from Verratti's free-kick. Dzeko and Hamsik also got on the scoresheet to complete the rout.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I'm very pleased for Roberto. He's been struggling for goals recently but we knew it would come eventually. It's come in 3 and hopefully he can carry on scoring for us.
Avram Grant said:
We were poor. I thought we should have done much better but we were sloppy and deserved to get beaten.

Brazilian star Oliveira then kept up his good form with a fine strike to finish off a great counter attack.

Chelsea sit atop of the Premier League by 4 points although West Ham who sit in 2nd do have two games in hand on them. The form that the Hammers have been in has been incredible and they'll be expected to win their two games in hand and go top of the league.
