Jamie Carragher - A Managers Story


The phone rang, it was Brendan. He probably just want’s a catch up!

BR: “Jamie, congratulations on your work at Valencia! I told you to never give up. You’re doing a great job.”

JC: “Thanks Brendan, you’re not doing too bad yourself are you? It’s good to see us consistently in the top 4 again. “

BR: “We’re getting there! Listen I’ve been watching your style of play and it is brilliant, you finally have the club who will give you some time and who have the type of players that can really push you forward, but I have an offer for you, I am highly interested in two of them, do you want to talk about it?”

JC: “They’re a good group of lads, we can talk about it of course, but with the form they are all in at the moment I don’t think you’ll like the answer.”

BR: “Parejo and Negredo, £40 million. “

JC: “Never! I’m sorry Brendan but they are not for sale, I know the club could use that money wisely but we have always been a selling club, I’m changing that. While we are on the phone I do have an offer for you too which could suit both of us.”

BR: “Definitely no changing your mind? Parejo is looking world class at the moment. I’m all ears, go on…”

JC: “How would you feel about sending Suso on loan here in January? We both know he can play in this league as he did it so well for Almeira, and he still hasn’t broken into the first team properly yet? It looks like Feghouli is going to go and I could do with a replacement for the season? He would be getting Champions League experience?”

BR: “I will need to think about it, we need to make sure everywhere is covered. I also want him to know that he is in my plans for the future, so sending him on loan all the time could knock his confidence of that. I will think about it, but it is not a no.”

I'm working on it!

The laptop really isnt doing much at the moment though, I need to get it fixed but because the only thing I use it for is FM it's kind of hard to pay the money! I gave it a go yesterday and it froze mid game so I'm going to have another try tonight!

Not the biggest news, but Yoel has been a good squad member this season, he's played in the Europa league games and in the cup matches. He's been performing well so I believe he deserved a new contract. With Diego Alvez wanting 110k a week things could always go wrong in January, and I think Yoel has performed well enough to fill the gap in case it does.
 
your team got some good performances in. Hopefully january will provide u with a good boost towards the rest of the season !

Beating Atletico would cement a position I think, with the Spanish league there is a huge gulf in class between the top teams and the lower sides, unlike the Premier League. As long as I focus on that competition more than the rest, I think I can do top 4! As long as I am in a competition though I am always going to try and win it! Europa would be more important than the Spanish Cup.
 
I finally have a free night tonight! My weekend has been packed and I've also been really busy with work, I had a couple fo hours the other day but the laptop was doing it's usual thing haha! I am definitely getting it fixed after Christmas. Hopefully I get some updates on tonight!

Thanks! I've been crazy busy lately so I've struggled to update, but once I get back into FM I'm sure I won't be able to get off again!
 
laptop wiped December as it froze so will have to play it again, will get onto that tonight! Hopefully we still end up unbeaten

A comfortable win which keeps us steady in third! Negredo was excellent again, but it has to be mentioned that the loanee Moller had a brilliant game up front along side of him!

Looks like December freezing could be a good thing! 3-0 with a roatated squad is a good result, brilliant game from Moller again, Liverpool must be liking what they see out of this lad!

Luis Enrique’s future is uncertain at Barcelona as reports claim he has had an argument with club idol Lionel Messi. It is thought that Messi wants to play in his central role although Enrique has been playing him out wide to accommodate star striker Luis Suarez. Barcelona have refused to comment on the situation as of yet. There has been a lot of speculation that Barcelona will be looking at Manchester United manager Luis Van Gaal as a replacement. There has also been some shock talk about Jamie Carragher being a candidate for the job. Carragher has turned things around completely at Valencia and is driving them forward to a top 4 finish as things stand, only being 6 points off the top 2 in the league and surpassing Atletico Madrid. However the Valencia manager sided with manager over player on this one when asked about the situation.

“I’m with the manager on this one. Yes, Messi has been arguably the best player this world has ever seen and you do not want to upset him, but you have 10 other players in the team and they are top of the league. As a manager he is doing his job right, and this is not the first time we’ve seen Lionel throw his toys out of the pram. He has 16 goals in 17 games this season so I think it’s not much to moan about. Negredo is the only player with more goals this season with 18. Maybe that’s eating away at him? But yes I’m standing with Luis Enrique here.”

It’s not the first time we have seen Carragher back a fellow manager. To get rid of Luis Enrique would be a very rash decision, as they have only lost 1 game this season, ironically to Valencia.

A little bit of advice on December, Obviously it reset the month and I have to play it again, should I delete the previous December month or keep it?

Today Jamie Carragher has confirmed his interest in Liverpool legend and best friend Steven Gerrard. With Gerrard being dropped by Brendan Rodgers it looks like he could leave in January for a chance to continue to play for the remainder of his career. It is believed that Liverpool will be willing to let Gerrard go to next to nothing as he is surplus to requirements. Carragher would certainly be interested in the Liverpool man, who would relish the opportunity to play in a slower paced league as he still has bundles of quality in his game. It is thought that Gerrard could be retiring at the end of the season if no offers come in for him, although it is hard to believe that he would not get one.
