Didn't want to see him leave but he wanted regular first team football, which I was giving him but he wants to play every game. I do have better options in midfield and the money coming in was right. It's just a shame because he was really coming into his own this season and I did see a future for him at the club.

Who can do it? Emre Can! Sad to see him leave, but after being sacked for not keeping promises you probably did the right thing. :P

Tell me about it! He was really good too but just not as good as Coutinho, Isco and Henderson.

It was the Sterling show today. We we're lucky not to draw as Villa dominated in the last 10 minutes. Harry Kane scored 2 by 85 minutes and the away team hit the post twice! More goals for the young Brazilians too. Chelsea who were right behind us travelled to Nottingham Forrest.

A shock defeat for Jose Mourinho's men give us a big chance to open a 6 point gap on them.

Lazar Markovic was the man in form for us today as he netted a sublime hat-trick against my former club Spurs. Goals seem to be coming from everyone in this squad and it's really pleasing knowing that all of your players can produce. This takes us to an impressive 18 games unbeaten in all competitions.

I've been thinking about bringing Negredo in for some time now as he was sensational for me last season but Valencia will not sell. They are demanding £25 million but as he is 32 I will not pay that much. I understand why they don't want to sell because of his form under me he season before, netting 51 goals in all competitions. This year even though Valencia are second in the league, Negredo is shadows of the player he was last season.

A pleasing 4-1 win for us away to Championship side Cardiff. A lot of fringe players staked a claim for more time regularly, Adam Lallana and Andre Wisdom were outstanding, and with both of them being home grown players they are great to have in the squad. Wisdom is currently up for sale but I'm going to give him a run in the side to see if he can prove his worth!

The fifth round of the F.A Cup see's Liverpool travel to Watford. We've been extremely lucky this season with the draws for the F.A Cup but still we have yet to play at home. We're in the best form of our lives without a loss since we got knocked out of the Capital One Cup against Everton on penalties, and Watford on the other hand are really struggling in the league, having won only one out of their last fifteen games. Wins over Birmingham and Wigan seen them progress to the fifth round, but I do not thin they will cause any threat when we travel to Vicarage Road.

Outstanding yet again. All of the front men linked up brilliantly and caused threats all kind of threats all game. Markovic carried on his impressive scoring form by taking his goal tally up to 16 for us in all competitions this season from only 12 games. He's now proved that I need to play him more and I definitely will. Andre Wisdom had yet another solid game at the back for us. Again we rotted the squad around and every player gelled together. It was a performance to be proud of. We could have scored a few more goal too, but no one is complaining about lack of goals this season.

We have now stretched our unbeaten run to 20 games, with only one of them not being a win. We are performing consistently home and away at the moment. We've had big wins at the Etihad and Old Trafford, one at White Heart Lane too. I wouldn't normally consider White Heart Lane a fortress but Tottenham have been in some good form this year and are challenging for a Champions League place under David Moyes. The goals are coming in for us thick and fast, how we have scored more than two goals in 15 of our last 20 games. We could tighten up on our defence but overall it's been a great season so far. After these results this is how the Premier League table lies:

We find ourselves eight points ahead of second place Chelsea but after my experience as Valencia manager where we threw away a 12 point gap on fifth place but ended up finishing the season in that division I am very wary that Chelsea can catch up. Nottingham Forrest have pulled themselves into a fight to stay up after they seemed down and out but it does look like curtains for Crystal Palace who have been extremely poor this season. Tottenham, United and Arsenal are all challenging for the 2 places in the top four, with City and surprisingly Norwich not far off that fight too. February brings us the Champions League Knockout Stages:

Palace at home next and I'm confident we will win that game with ease. Then it's the big one which I believe may be the title decider if we win it, a big trip to Stamford Bridge to see if we can beat Chelsea and I believe if we do then we could be out of of reach if we win the next two games after it. We return in the F.A Cup and look to reach for the quarter final and the last game of the month will be an away trip to Germany to play Bayern Leverkusen in the first leg of the Champions League last 16. The treble is on, whether we can manager it is another thing.
