I can not believe my eyes. I really can't. 8-1 against the best team in the country in my eyes, and many others. I do not have a clue how this has just worked. I think we got lucky with the line up they had put out, as it was very weak compared to their standards, Barbosa missing was obviously the most noticed, but it was Narvajas they missed the most.
The Spaniard has adopted the centre half role since I left, and really has become one of the worlds best in that position, without him today it all just didn't click. When the game kicked off the atmosphere was electric, and you could sense there was some hurt in Divock Origi and the fact that he had a point to prove, I haven't seen a striker chase down that many balls since Torres against Madrid in 2009, and like Torres, Origi scored two.
By 25 minutes we were 2-0 up, and Liverpool had a really good chance to score, but Coutinho just wasn't tall enough to win the free header into a pretty much open net after Ochoa tried to close down an angle on Markovic, we got lucky, but a minute later we were awarded a corner after some pretty awful keeping from Rulli. Okore continued his scoring form with a bullet header at the back post, we were in dreamland. And Liverpools Wright was struggling badly.
Mourinho was screwed, his dead football which has now been figured out made it sure that he couldn't get back in the game, and Moreno killed it off by stealing the ball from the Everton defence to make it 4-0. Half time, job done.
We come out the second half just like we did the first. We won every first ball and then were straight onto the second ones. Ronaldo scored 2 brilliant Brazilian goals, the way he makes himself space first is mesmerising, I could not get over the fact we we're 6-0 up.
It was an old friend who looked t save some embarrassment for the reds, as Isco scored a worldie, but by now the game was over. For once Liverpool fans had left early.
It's a good job they did, Moreno and Belhanda wrapped up the game with two lovely goals in the last 2 minutes. I was blessed to have been able to say these we're my lads, this has to be my best win as a manager.
The sad thing about the game, were the boo's I received from the Liverpool faithful at the start of the game, as they sang "Carragher, you know what you are." I can't sit here and lie, I love that club, and Everton will never be my home as far as I'm concerned. There was something wrong to what I was doing, and it hit me today that it doesn't quite feel right, how can I watch my team lose like this.
I need to make my point though, that I am the best manager in the world, and that they will want me back. Because I know that I can bring them glory again if they let me, and they will soon forget about this. It's been an emotional day for me, and it's about time I got some rest, I had Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to think about next, it never stops...
