There have been reported successes and fails with chelsea in this thread, and if my memory serves me right someone who has been successful with chelsea has put alot of input, go with him, see the players he has, look at the way he sets them up, experiment, i lost to brescia 3-0 and red star belgrade 4-1 from my experiments, but I'm 1st in the league now and finished top of the group to go into the next round.

Generally, invest in the wingers. Right wing there are tons of choices, Left wing are tricky but try Elia or Marin. ST u can bring in Hulk and use Drogba/Hulk. Anelka and Kalou retrain to play as wingers. Midfield left side play Lampard, right Cm change Essien to box-to-box. This is my way for Chelsea. Ask the other guy for his success.

By the way, I remembered someone getting success with R.Madrid. Not saying its hard, but I want to see the tweakings for it as i also tried some tweakings. Do pm me

after some tweaks, your tactic works better for me in away matchs, some tweaks recommended by you:

WB: Closing Down - Own Area
DMC: Mentality - Normal | Closing Down - Own Half
MC: Both with Hard Tackling

Been testing v3 now for almost an entire season with Man City with 1-2 new players

About 10 matches to go im 14 points clear in 1st place won the league cup and im in the final of the europa league/fa cup still too

Something strange is the goalscoring of the DRC position lol

Kolo Toure = P52 and SCORED 24 lol??? Im guessing if i had a taller player with better jumping/heading it could be even higher anyone else getting this?

Wow nice job! Although it's ManCit but winning the league just after ~75% of the season is something you can be proud of

DRC scoring like crazy? Yeah for sure, I believe what I'm having is an awesome corner routine when applied right.

and of course, striker has always been a scoring machine so far.

I have pretty good memories from FM10 using a tactic based on your Goals Galore (and your incredible Leeds \o/) so when I saw your topic on SIGames I put it on the first place in my bookmarks related to FM. but now, stop sugaring! haha

I mean "based" 'coz I don't prefer downloading ready tactics, and playing in "plug & play" way. But threads like this is something what I like the most. A lot of good opinions, ideas and conclusions.

I have one big question - you mentioned that you was trying to play Ozil as some-kind-of classic winger. could you please tell something more about it? maybe some advices, stats etc? I'm asking coz' I want to play with 1 winger and 1 inside forward and your opinion could be very helpful.

We're onto something here. I've been working on something like that as well.
Yes, despite the 'inside-striker' settings of the winger. One time I put Ozil on the left winger, therefore he doesn't cut inside - but running on the left to the byline and put a cross. No settings were changed, only put left footed winger on the left side (and vice versa). You can look at the instructions of the player directly from my tactic if you don't mind. Note that crossing is still on rarely but due to the high freedom I gave to my wingers they will cross whenever there's opportunity.

Been using your tactic as a foundation, made a few tweaks to suit my Saints team and now we are flying. I started using your original goals galore, but the switched to your new V3 tactic after 10 games and not looked back since. After playing 30-40 games in my first season, I'm now at a point where my team loves this formation resulting in some beautiful sexy attacking fluid football. I do concede a few goals at times, but score so many from all areas.

Ok first of all I can notice either you're not reading the player sections right or you haven't been reading it. No offense

but this tactic uses inside forwards, therefore it is necessary to put oppposite footed player on either wings. Luis Suarez, for example, should be playing on the left as he is right footed. On the right put someone left footed, maybe retrain Malouda/Zhirkov there.

and of course look at GabeGenesis' post. He's having success with Chelsea.

Yeah I believe the guy is Lasseman. He's been working on a lower side time for a while now but wanted some 'fun' for a while so uses Real Madrid. He's been working real close with me on the tweakings. Major stuff is coming out on the next update.

If you like I can ask him to give his current tweakings to you and maybe you can work with us too via MSN or something since you've been one of the regular contributors here. It's pretty similar with one that I'm doing right now. (3.6 but with a lot of more tweaking)

1 season using this tactic with real madrid.. in laliga ronaldo 30 goal.. pipita 25... benz 10.. pepe 13 goals.. only lost 5 times in copa del rey against barca(i used 2nd team with dudek on gk) away game in laliga against bilbao.. and in UCL knock out round but always manage to comeback in home.. i do double in my first season.. (well Real madrid had a great squad right) strugle in the new season 2 loses already in 5 games.. super copa and uefa super cup... draw 1 time in laliga only one 2 game so far.. and im confused between kaka ozil or canales...

1-3 against Heracles
1-2 against Feyenoord
0-2 against Helmond Sport
5-0 against Utrecht

Now I am currently in 1st position, 2nd is Nac

I've finished the mid-season and my pos is 8º in the Barclay's.
Have lost 9 games, 5 wins and 6 ties.

Untill now I have tested 3 different formations like 4-1-3-2 ; 4-5-1 and 4-1-2-1-2 (as sugested in the beggining by my *** Man) in 4 differents saves and nothing. Seems that is so unconsistent to build a tatic that really works on Chelsea (actually, this is the only team that I play) comparing to the FM 2010 where my former 4-1-3-2 tatic really suited well and I won everything that I have played (I mean Trophies and Leagues, of course).

I tried to import my 4-1-3-2 from FM2010 to FM 2011 and even with the same players, same instructions, same training and staffs don't work at all.

This is very frustrating.

Start of season 2 on my Liverpool save. I now have players in every position according to the stats provided on the first post.

Played 15, Won 13, Drawn 2, Lost 0 - The 2 draws were away at Chelsea and Arsenal which I had about 4-5 clear cut chances and should have won

Scored 39 conceded 4 - 2 of the goals conceded were in a match I was down to 10 men from the 30th min

Great tactic, will make a Hercules la liga save later and try it.

Just put Valencia on the right and make his crossball to sometimes and instead of cut inside making him go 'normal'

Ok Koflok some further feedback from my recent tweakings with Toronto FC, mid-season in 2nd year.

Tried using wingbacks/hug touchline/close down full pitch, but couldn't see any improvement, so I switched back to fullbacks/support/own half, this way defence looks more solid. Also changed DCs to zonal marking/tight, with full backs still man marking. Works good for me.

As suggested in the thread, I tried using narrowest style (i also have minimum pitch) and it just works great for my team. Players are closer to each other and move better together, which really helps passing and ball possession. Attacking at home and standard away also seem the best fit for my team. And the "pass into space" shout seems to help a bit.

I changed RMC to central midfielder/support (rarely run from deep & run with ball), and this way the LMC is looking much more effective, with more space to move, pass, shoot.

Team displaying great attacking football in 2nd season, dominating MLS regular season, and destroying mysterious teams in dubious continental competitions (chinese/korean in the pacific cup, guatemala/costarica clubs in north america cup early stages). Assulin quickly developing into a very good winger, great news as he's tied until dec 2015 with a cap-friendly 15,000 euros per year contract...

Mixed results with this tactic, don't get me wrong we bang in the goals at home but always seem to struggle in away games, whoever we play.

Would you reccomend changing any tactics for away days?

I am Liverpool and we are 2nd in the prem after 18 games...almost all home games won but majority of away games have been draws/defeats.

Torres has scored about 23 but the closest behind him is Gerrard/Merieles with 6....also a worry :S
