Are you using 3.1 home and away? If so did you make any changes to the tactic for spurs? Cheers

Yes I use 3.1 Home and Away but i change away setting to standard or control. Because its raining a lot i also change passing to more direct. I use OI a lot!! and also personal talks to keep morale high.

My first season i played like this:

----------------------------Gomes

Corluka--------Gallas--------King-----------Bale

----------------------Huddelstone/Sandro

----------------VDV------------------ Modric

Lennon------------------------------------Krancjar

---------------------------Defoe

But in 2e season i changed it to this:

------------------------------------------Gomes

Renan/Corluka------Shawcross-----------Bassong-----------Bale/Coentrao

----------------------------------Vidal/Huddel/Sissoko

------------------------VDV-------------------Modric/Hamsik

Lennon/Dos Santos---------------------------------------Suarez/Krancjar

--------------------------------------Hulk/Kadlec

I've lost 1 and 4 draws rest wins. I think im unstoppable now since ive got Pastore and Costa in season 3. I always try to unsettle players before i make a bid. So lots of compliments in the press and good negotiations.
I try to get King and Gallas as coaches :) and maybe 1 extra defender. Player of the Year: Shawcross !! Hulk and Kadlec are from another planet.
Im also interested in playing 4-2-3-1 but did not find a good tactic as this one.

cheers

I've been following this tactic for quite some time now with some great results from it. At Liverpool, half way into my third season, I've won the Premier League twice, Europa League, Champions League, FA Cup twice, Community Shield twice, and the Carling cup.

Currently, in my third season, after only bringing in one player (Gareth Bale), I've found that the results have increased incredibly by using the v4 BETA tactic. The majority of games have results in excess of 3-0 and haven't conceded in 7 games.

So I stopped there, saved, and started a new game with New York Red Bulls. So far, results are varying (but this is expected considering the player's familiarity is yet to hit fluid with the tactic), but the stats are usually impressive even if I lose. My particular highlight was a 1-0 win over LA Galaxy:

New York: LA Galaxy:
Shots 14 2
On Target 5 0
Possession 56% 46%

It's definitely more defensively sound since the introduction of wing-backs. Although I'm sure that's ironic!

The tactic is still working very well for me.
I am in my second season as Leeds, and I am currently 7th in Premier League after 27 games.
Sure, buying some high quality players in the january transfer window, due to a very nice takeover by a turkish mogul hasn't hurt. But I got most my points before the takeover,so it's all down to the tactic really.

After trying several after my own tactics with York City FC and reading the great results on this one I thought I was best off by giving it a shot.

Boy did this tactic take me by surprise. I started off kicking some serious *** in the BSP even though my players were obviously lacking the necessary skills for this tactic. I was lonely on top clear by 10 points when december started.

After that..it started to go down. I get really excited after getting a 1-0 victory now. And I've brought players in that are more adept to the system.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Very true indeed. I found it funny really. The reason of me implementing wingbacks instead of fullbacks is actually due to defensive reason - contrary to the believe that 'I want Alves-like fullbacks so I play wingback'.

It seems like due to the higher positioning of the player, they can mark the opp's winger better and be more aggressive in terms of marking them. I've seen a lot of time where they mark the wingers and as soon as the ball is coming to them, they intercept it quickly.

And sure, in terms of attacking they have been more deadly as well. Deep-far-post crossing is sick!

Not only that, because they don't sit way too deep. it helps with the offside trap (eventhough I don't implement it). In the scenario where a through ball is played through the middle and fullback - sometimes - are 'behind' the CB, opponent can easily make that as chance without being offside. But now, only the 2 CBs are at the deepest of the line therefore it's harder to play a through ball.

So yeah, irony really seeing how using wingbacks instead of fullbacks actually improve the defensive significantly

Great tactic if I might say so.

I'm following the thread here and on SI Community. Are you any closer to releasing Ver.5?

The defence with the latest version of this tactic is immense!
some good results so far this season:

ManU 1-2 Leeds
Chelsea 1-1 Leeds
Arsenal 0-2 Leeds

it actually seem to be better away than home for some odd reason (using the home tactic away as well)

Hello! Kof, I'm wondering if you could help me with my set pieces for my own tactics. I've noticed on your tactics you've got more than 1 player in the same position (for example mark keeper in attacking frre kicks) no matter what i try I can't set it up like this, when I try to set another player to mark keeper he just swaps with the one already there! How have you managed this!

I won the league and europa in my first season however in the league i lost 9 games! Luckily i only drew 1 otherwise i would no way have won it, i really struggle against the big clubs especially away, i just cant seem to score against them, how do you beat the big clubs? Im obviously not tweaking right, any suggestions?

I used this tactic for 3 seasons with Southampton... and the new one for 1 of them... However, it proves very inconsistent away from home. At Home it is quality... but against higher clubs it seems to fail. My wingers aren't as great as required and so it needs changes to allow any player to be able to fill in

Koflok,

Hello mate. Hope you are well? I agree, it is going all quite quiet on here at the moment. Just wanted to let you know I have had a really good run with your tactics after saying I'd give it a go. I use satu version at home, and only use away version when the opposition is really tough. I am playing with Crewe, and have been promoted each year, winning the league on each occasion. The most I have spent on a player is now in the premier is £800,000, but have had to bring in a lot of players each season on free transfers. A lot of comments on here suggest the AI get used to the way you play, but in my fourth season there doesn't seem to be a problem. I am currently 4th in the league after around 6/7 games but not played any of the big teams. Are there any other tactics that can be played along side this if the AI start to get the better of me?

Blue Ross

hey koflok did you already get fm 11 because im still find it!
btw im use your tactic in demo and looks good

I'm currently in my 4th season, managing a small belgian team called Westerlo. I have been using your v3 tactic since the start of my 3rd season and it was very successful (winning the belgian league and played the europa league final). This season however i use the v4 tactic.

the defence is better then the v3 season, but i tend to get alot more yellow cards. Its now december in my game and i got the same amount off yellow cards as I had last season in may. Are you having this too? Or are my defenders to aggressive?

the thing i like the most about your tactic are the wingbacks. In my own tactic i used the first 2 seasons i had this also, but i was less successful on attack, thats why i changed to yours.

The amount of goals i score is still high, an average of 3-4.

you asked for some feedback before you would release v5, which is a tactic i am waiting for :D and i think alot more people on this forum are waiting for :p

Great tactic, keep it up.

Ive found that version 3.1 is a good tactic. But it seems to look very shaky at the back. For the next version, fullbacks should be a little bit more defensive while AML/R should be attack not support.

Thanks guys for the responses, feedbacks and anticipation so far despite me not being here quite as often as usual.
I'm doing bits of stuff including the v5. It has gotten to a period where it's not about whether it will bring positive results but rather than improving it to reach 'perfection'.

Might sound too blah but I'm a perfectionist and I want it to be truly awesome before it's released.

I've playing with some tweakings and have successfully make the team plays better.
Wingbacks are more aggresive and defensively coordinated.
DMC still winning ball like crazy
Transition from MC is fluid
Playmaker-striker combo which is something new is highly effective
As usual dangerous wingers.
and of course slight improvement on the defense.

and yeah again thanks for the inputs and some of you guys PM/VM me on your tweakings. I will check that out as well.

Cheers.

(v5 should be available around next week. If it's not here by thursday, spam me. lol jk)

I'm playing with 3.1 and I agree with namski, it's a bit shaky. But I like it al the same.

koflok I respect that you don't want to upload v5 until you are satisfied.
But could you give some advice how to get 3.1 a bit more stabile?
