Linecoigne's FIFA World League - a Chairman game

I am so confused i dont know if i change things now or till the end of season

I know, a bit disappointed that some people decided to just give up on this thread but it's good news for people who want to join since those clubs will probably be free at the end of the season!

I'm still around, but illness and a political campaign are seriously eating into my time atm. Will do what I can when I can.

No worries mate, I understand that not everyone has that much time to put out regular updates :)

I've got my fingers crossed for that.
For the time being I'll enjoy being on the sidelines and seeing how this projects develops ^^

January Transfer Update

Arkadius Millik - £8.75m from Ajax
A signing of intent from new president of Corinthians Ronaldo. He's noticed that Corinthians are struggling to score goals in games and he's decided to splash the cash on Millik. Only time will tell whether this signing will be able to keep them up however £8.75 million seems like a steal with transfer fees these years so hopefully he can make a big contribution heading into the business end of the season.

Jack Wilshere - Loan from Arsenal
Another signing from president Ronaldo is the loan deal that sees Arsenal star Jack Wilshere come to the club hoping to add a bit more class and creativity in to what has been a lacklustre midfield this season. With Arsenal hoping Wilshere can rediscover the form of years gone and Corinthians hoping he can help save them from relegation this looks to be a good signing on both ends

Mathieu Debuchy - free from Arsenal
This next transfer sees president Ronaldo return to Arsenal and pick up French full back Mathieu Debuchy. With some more attacking minded full backs the aim for Corinthians this is certainly a player who can get a cross or two into the box. With injuries hindering his last few seasons at Arsenal this could be make or break time in his career and hopefully he will be able to contribute in a big way to Corinthians staying in the top league this season.

I have been busy with school and also trying to take a driver license the last week. I will try to post an update before the end of the week.

Absolutely disgusting displays from Porto. Looks like something has to change.

Update

Arsenal entered December at the top of the table. Only time will tell if they keep their amazing run going but Gunners fans are rightly optimistic at this stage.

Gameweek 13

Atletico 1-1 Arsenal
A draw in the Vicente Calderon to start the month and Arsene Wenger was disappointed his side didn't take all 3 points. Talented Argentine Luciano Vietto opened the scoring for Atleti after 8 minutes, sending the home fans into raptures. Arsenal never really started playing until the second half when Wenger had read the riot act. Alexis Sanchez equalised on the hour mark but Arsenal couldn't find a winner.

Gameweek 14

Arsenal 1-1 Man City
A similar story to the Atletico game for Arsenal this week. The visit of Man City saw them keep the unbeaten run going but they made hard work of it. David Silva scored for City in the first half. Sanchez equalised again, this time from the spot, as Arsenal stayed top of the league.

Gameweek 15

Inter 1-2 Arsenal
A solid display from Arsenal which was made easier by the sending off of Miranda. Inter actually took the lead through Perisic but it was against the run of play. The struggling Italian side could hardly get out of their own half. Quickfire Arsenal goals sandwiched the sending off and came from Walcott and Ozil.

Gameweek 16

Arsenal 4-2 Porto
Once again, Arsenal found themselves behind in the game early on. The response was quick and emphatic however. Aboubakar gave Porto the lead on 12 minutes, but within 10 minutes Arsenal lead thanks to Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott. Aaron Ramsey scored just after half time to make the game safe and Mesut Ozil added some gloss in the 67th minute. Aboubakar scored a consolation with a little over 10 minutes left but Porto never threatened again.

Gameweek 17

PSG 2-1 Arsenal
16 games, that's how long the unbeaten run lasted, and it was brought to a halt by the French side PSG. A goalless first half was not without it's chances, both sides guilty of squandering good opportunities. A Zlatan Ibrahimovic penalty broke the deadlock 11 minutes into the second half though. Alexis Sanchez continued his fine season infront of goal to equalise. Arsenal then thought they had another point in the bag and switched off. Kurzawa punished them with 5 minutes left much to the delight of the Parisians in attendance.

Gameweek 18

Sevilla 1-3 Arsenal
The perfect response to a defeat from the gunners. The victory over Sevilla came despite being reduced to 10 men after only 7 minutes when Koscielny saw red. Mesut Ozil scored less than a minute later though to give Arsenal the lead. Krohn-Dehli equalised for Sevilla just before half time but the Olivier Giroud show started after half time. Two goals from the Frenchman gave Arsenal a massive 3 points.

Gameweek 19

Arsenal 2-0 Benfica
A clean sheet for Arsenal, and their first in 8 games. Goals for the gunners came from Walcott and Sanchez.

Gameweek 20

Arsenal 2-2 Real Madrid
Arsene Wenger was furious after this game, and he had every reason to be. Arsenal were 2-0 in front after 28 minutes, courtesy of Ozil and Giroud, only to throw the game away and finish with only a point. James Rodrigues and Gareth Bale scored Madrid's two goals.

Gameweek 21

Juventus 3-1 Arsenal
A great start for Arsenal thanks to Hector Bellerin was quickly dismantled by The Old Lady of Turin. Mario Mandzukic was on fine form scoring twice, the other goal coming from Dybala.

After 21 games, Arsenal still sit top of the FIFA World League Premiership but only by a point. The top 6 separated by just 6 points making this league very tight and an exciting climax is anticipated.

Much maligned in previous transfer windows, Wenger splashed some cash this time around.

£39 million went on Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang while £31.5 million went on Dutch centre back Stefan de Vrij. Mathieu Debuchy and Jack Wilshere went to relegation threatened Corinthians, the latter on loan.

February update

Matchday 22

View attachment 154459

Incredible scenes at the Parc des Princes yet again as the French side beat title contenders Bayern with goals from Verratti and Ibrahimovic, allowing Arsenal to pull away at the top of the table as they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford. The only new signing to make a big impact so far was Milik for Corinthians, who scored on his debut as he contributed to the Brazilian side's victory over AC Milan. Skrtel played the hero and the villain as he scored the opening goal of Liverpool's game against Benfica before getting himself sent off just 10 minutes later, allowing Benfica to get back in the game in the 68th minute. Inter scored twice away from home to grab a win against Valencia and Atletico captain Gabi scored the only goal of an all-Spanish game between Sevilla and Atletico. Real Madrid and Chelsea cancelled each other as Juventus and Barcelona did the same, with Manchester City getting a close win against FC Porto. This saw Nigel Pearson make his debut as Porto manager but unfortunately for him, he couldn't get the win that he needed.

Matchday 23

The title race in the FIFA World League Premiership continues to be as tight as ever as Atletico, Bayern and Arsenal all got wins with Juventus joining in as well. However, Barcelona and Real Madrid could only draw at the Camp Nou for the second El Clasico of the year. Pearson's second game in charge of Porto turned out to be a humiliating defeat to Inter, who continue their good form whilst Corinthians also managed an impressive draw against Valencia. Sevilla and Manchester City played the most boring game of the week, drawing 0-0.

The biggest game of the week came from Madrid as Atletico and Juventus drew 0-0 but the other title contenders did not slip up, making the title race even more exciting now. Bayern got a late win over Real Madrid, courtesy of Lewandowski, whilst Aguero's goal for Manchester City wasn't enough to get them back into the game and they lost to Benfica. Liverpool continued their improved form as they drew against Manchester United and got further away from the relegation zone, however, Porto's win against Sevilla sees the Portuguese side come closer to the Reds. Arsenal stayed top as they smashed Valencia at the Emirates and Milik scored yet again for Corinthians but couldn't save them a point. Inter continued their great form as they drew with PSG at the San Siro as well.

The race for Europa League and Champions League qualifications as well as the title race blew wide open this week as PSG got their second win of the month, this time against Manchester City, taking them just 2 points behind Real Madrid, who smashed Liverpool 3-0, sitting in 6th. Arsenal were held to a draw by Corinthians, with Milik scoring yet again, as Bayern beat Juventus 3-2 in a thrilling game at the Juventus Stadium. Porto couldn't get a win against Valencia and Benfica and Atletico scored one first half goal each to take the game to 1-1, which would end up being the final result. Inter's unbeaten run ended as Sevilla scored twice in the second half to gift them the 3 points and Neymar secured a tight win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, whilst Chelsea were saved by Eden Hazard as they rescued a point at the San Siro.

Another great month in the World League Premiership which sees the title race get as tight as ever, with the battle for survival at the bottom of the table getting seemingly more and more impossible for some teams:

AC Milan seem like relegation is near with just 9 games left this season, whilst Corinthians and Porto will be fighting with Liverpool for survival. Arsenal sit 4 points clear at the top of the league and could have pulled away as they step closer and closer to winning the first ever FIFA World League Premiership but the race for second is incredibly tight with just 2 points separating second-placed Bayern and 5th-placed Barcelona (who are favourites to win the competition).

Let me know when you want the March update to come out, I could release it as early as in a few hours if you guys really want!

Jose Peseiro sacked

View attachment 154442

FC Porto manager, Jose Perseiro has been sacked following a huge poor run of form. It comes as no surprise to anyone following the FIFA World League as Porto have been hugely under performing in all aspects.

Chairman, Don Erkebabulous has announced that the manager position will be filled by none other than ex-Leicester City man, Nigel Pearson.

Most famous for his team's amazing performance to keep themselves in the English Premier League.
He was shockingly sacked only a couple months later and replaced by the failed Greek National team manager, Claudio Ranieri. There are huge doubts as to whether Ranieri will be able to keep Leicester afloat.

I'm happy for update whenever mate. Maybe something to consider for the next season though is either waiting for people to update before you update or maybe having a 48 hour window between your updates when the chairmen can at least get something out re: recent results etc.

Don't worry mate that's what I figured but since not that many people have put out updates recently, I just figured I'd put out a couple for the ones who are here since they enjoy updates but for season 2 I'll definitely have more of a update schedule like you said :) thanks for the feedback mate :)

Unbeaten for a month and a half... still 5th. At least we should be getting CL through winning this season's (haven't checked the save, could be struggling :P)

So when liverpool get relegated, not Porto, what happens to the chairman?
