Ryan Kent and Jordan Ibe came into the side after impressing in for the U21s. Both played
really well but it was young Kent who came within a hairs breath of a hat-trick. He's really
put his name forward for more Europa League appearances and I'll be tracking his progress.

Coutinho once again excelled in his new False 9 role and grabbed us a point in the Eithad.

8 goals in 9 games is a tally any striker would kill for.
The 23 year old Brazillian is enjoying life at Anfild
and some sections of the Media are even dubbing
his the new-Suarez.

Villa kept the ball well but they were stuck in their own half. Our pressing game held them back
and ensured they wouldn't bring their wide men into the game. I felt that we were struggling
though so after 70 minutes, I moved Gerrard into midfield and told Henderson to fill in as
a supporting striker to add extra pressure to the Villa back line. This tactical change
payed off as we scored 4 goals in the last 20 minutes.

This man in one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, if not the world. He's
definitely up there! A sensational man of the match performance making 10 saves.
By all rights, Spurs should have lost this game but it shows you how one man can
make all the difference.

Norwich play with 3 ACMs feeding a lone striker... This is both their strength and their biggest weakness.
If you can keep their 3 midfield men quiet, you render their attack impotent. Moi Gomez making the most
of his inclusion in the starting line up and grabbing a goal.

January sees the beginning of a nightmare sequence of fixtures.

Aside from Moreno, we have no other natural Left Backs. I've been looking to give Flanagan more game
time at Righ Back so a new Left Back was needed. Kolarov lost his place in the City line up when Fabio
Coentrao came to the club. He was listed at £3M

Both Gómez and Scuffet played well for me in the first half of the
season so I've found them clubs to play first team football. Gómez
will play int he Premier League with Burnley while Scuffet will play
in the Dutch League; he is Cup tied for the European game though.

Tight there after half a season! hopefully you can push top at the end of the season!

I'm not aiming for the title this season. I feel it'd put too much of a strain on the season. We're int he Semi-Final of the Capital One cup and have a serious shot at the Europa League so those are the two competitions I'm having a go at. 4th/3rd place in the league is enough for me.

Youth Progress Update

Under 18s

Alan Simpson: 16 year old Striker
This kid is tearing apart the U18s and progressing like a dream in training.
He could be the real deal lads: a World Class Striker.

Adam Mingay: 16 year old Center Back

This kid put in a sensational performance for the first team in a cup game
against Wigan in October. Afte that I moved him into the U21s and he's been
a staple part of that team. He might be ready for 1st team football quite soon.
His progress has been set back slightly since he broke his ankle and was out for
5 weeks.

Gastón Pereiro: 20 year old Attacking Mid

Pereiro hasn't preformed as well in training as the other two but at the moment
he is the better of the three players. He's been recently moved tot he first team
since I see him being able to operate as a very effective False 9 to rotate with
Coutinho

Some nice Youth players there mate and a nice sale as well

Aye, I'll be keeping a close eye on them two.
Simpson cost me £3M so I'll be looking to try develop him as much as I can to repay the investment but he
looks like he could be a sensational striker if he continues the way he's been developing.

This wasn't a deal knowing how good he was, I scouted him for 12 months to make sure he
satisfied my scouts. He played 42 games for Vélez; scoring 5 and making 4 assists. His form
made him a viable target and I offloaded Huntelaar to make it happen.

The new year didn't get off to a great start but January was full of heartbreak,
triumph and nail bitters: It had it all. Welcome to 2017!

Football is a funny old game so it is. You can be by far the better team, take an early lead,
maintain god possession and still be unlucky to be beaten convincingly. Ignore the stats,
we played very well today and I'm very proud of the guys. Any other day, it'd have been us
going through but alas, the Gods of football like to toy with thee.

The red card changed everything. We were 0-1 up and leading comfortably
then Flanagan got himself sent off with two booking in close succession. We
fell apart for there and Everton tore us a new one. Gutted!

Second sending off in as many games. I wasn't letting the team implode this time though.
Thanks to our early lead, I effectively saw out the game with 10 Center Backs.

An unfortunate own goal by Mignolet but we took all three points with a sensational
team goal. The ball was won just in front of the half way line and was in the back of the net
after just 5 touches

First Leg

View attachment 321512
Things did not start well as Hernández scored his 3rd goal in 3 games against me. It was not
the start I wanted at all, they had an away goal... But still we rallied and 79th minute drama
prevailed as Giovinco took Lovren's 50 yard cross field ball and finished on the half volley in
spectacular fashion.

This game was a nail bitter. One goal, concede one goal and we're pretty much out since
I didn't see us scoring two at Old Trafford. We held firm with a great shift put in by Sakho and Lovren.
We booked our ticket in Wembely!

Something had to give. 3 game in a row; win, drawn and loose.
I call that two very even teams!

Those games in hand over City will be important though Chelsea could still
finish top since they've a potential 6pts in hand. The table won't stay like
this. That I can assure you!

Wow those are some eventful updates. Letting Huntelaar go was probably the best option for you since he wasn't playing anyway and you got a very nice young player with huge potention for him in return so it'll be interesting to see how he'll perform. Furthermore you are doing very good in the Europa League, you've reached the final of the Capital One Cup and you are still going strong for a finish within the top 4 of the BPL. All in all I'd say this is season is going pretty great and it could end up being a very succesful one!

Nice signing in Romero!! and a very weird month with results but and theses 2 games over Man City will be a big difference as to weather you end up in CL or EL as i could see Chelsea picking up the points they need as well

Wow! Over 20 matches without a goal! would this be time for you to maybe get rid? and bring someone new in

Not a chance :P He scored 25 last season. He deserves a chance since he's got all the attributes I like in my strikers.
