New Ownership in Turin

With a new summer comes a new owner. With Desbot no longer able to run the club, it has fallen to me to take Torino to the next level and push not only into the top 4 but to become the first player owned club to finish above our big rivals.

The budget isn’t big this summer so I am not expecting to be able to sign any big value players unless some players move out first. All players are available at the right price but it would take a big bid to move some of the star players.

Lazio Transfer Update

Major Changes at the Olimpico

With Lazio finishing in Europa League last season, manager Thomas Tuchel was sacked meaning that a new manager will be required for the upcoming season. After a long and serious search for an ideal replacement we have decided to appoint a manager of the highest calibre, somebody who has done it at every level from Italy and Spain to the European stage. We have hired Rafael Benitez.

On the matter, chairman Giovanni Ferrero stated:
"Unfortunately for Thomas, after a successful season everything fell apart. We have hired one of the best in Rafa and we expect him to take us back on track with our plans for Lazio with Champions League Football expected as a minimum this season"

Quantity Over Quality?

Bologna's owners have been accused of sacrificing the clubs best players in the transfer window, and replacing them with below average players. 2 key players in Adam Masina & Simone Verdi have made the jump to Inter Milan, clearly with an eye on winning silverware.

To replace such players, the club and new manager Simone Inzaghi have gone out to add depth to the squad, though the ability of the inbound transfers is being questioned. Inzaghi was quoted in the media this morning claiming, "Though the deals made may seem strange from the outside, i have the belief that in improving our finances with the sales of Masina and Verde we have put the club on a more stable platform for the future. The new inbounds will add depth to a squad previously with questionable back ups, and experience of playing in Serie A, which will mean less time needed for the players to acclimatise to the new surroundings".

The one player that the fans are excited to see pull on a shirt, is the young winger Felice D'Amico. Though only on loan, he is is seen as a more than capable replacement for Verdi, and the club will be looking to him to create the attacking opportunities for the vast array of strikers Inzaghi has at his disposal.

Inter have announced the signing of Sergi Palencia from Lazio for £5m with manager Luciano Spalletti saying up to a DOZEN MORE new players could be joining the club if all goes to plan. This is a lot of business done by Inter who have already signed 4 players in Musacchio, Verde, Masina and Chiesa.

On signing Palencia, Spalletti said - "We went into the summer with one thought in our minds and that was to strengthen the defence and not only with 1st choice defenders but players who would be backup to push the first picks on and that is why we have brought in Palencia. He is young and quick and can push D'Ambrosio hard".

On future deals he said - "2 youngsters are coming in from abroad I think while we have offers on the table for a world class midfielder, one of Europes top full backs, 2 solid experienced centre halves and two talented midfielders."

"In addition to that we have negotiated a deal with Atalanta and a multi-player swap deal has been completed"

"We just need to wait for the people at the registration office to give us the green light to announce the deals or if we have to shop around again"
