Just finished 4th first season with Aston villa only signing was Jonathan on loan January. First i have enjoyed playing fm14 cant wait to start next season with a stronger squade

A few bad results, the morale gets down, and if you can't get their morale up again, they will play quite bad.

Been choosing a minimum size for 3 seasons. Though i won Skrill South in second season, but the home results were very poor, lots of conceded goals. I had more points on away games. On 4th season decided to play wider, chose short dimention (it's 70m wide instead of 55 in minimum). Seems that it worked. I have much more stable results at home. I guess bad home results on minimum pitch happened because the CDs often tend to move to the sideline cause the opponent is closer and it leaves the penalty area with only one CD.

mr L any chance recreating underdog beast for FM 14 or its impossible in this FM?

I think the counter v3 is good enough for underdogs. But it should be possible to change the formation to the underdog beast formation and still maintain stability. Haven't tried it though. But the settings would be the same as in counter v3.

How are the managing career going? is it just the random game or do you get any real time to put in for lifting the throphy ;)

I was looking at Stonewall, and i think it could work using asymetric midtfield positioning moving 1 striker down as a 3rd cb.
Atleast thats what im trying to create now on my new save since i got back into the game.
resoults are good so far winning the Norwegian league with Rosenborg, and i beat AS Roma 4-0 in EL (lost 2-0 away but but ^^)

thoughts?

My tactics are usually quite flexible for changes, so go ahead try it :) I thought about starting a save on lvl 5 in England, but I have to wait until I'm done writing my research paper about systemic functional grammar :) 10th of June is the magic date!
 
Very good away tactic but the attack tactic isn't so good... lost all 3 of my home games so far this season and creating no CCC. Any ideas?

Just allowing lower teams to come and park the bus.
 
Congratulation Mr L for the great tactic. I use it with Cardiff and the players fit them well. I use 14.3.0 and it work also. After one season, i tweak some a bit after reading articles about strikerless tactic.
A little bit of tweak move the F9 and AF to SS in the AMC position. Change the mentality of some positions and re-set the defensive corner setup. I hate got goals from corner :( And the main focus training for team I set Defensive Set Pieces.

I encourage everyone to try to tweak my tactics, as they are usually very flexible :) Plus, it gives the users a personal attachment to the tactic, as they bring something of their own to it.
 
Very sketchy tactic in my opinion. Players get extremely fatigued, susceptible to breakaway goals, inconsistent. Tried to outline my thoughts for advice above but ignored.

Sorry mate, I'm extremely stressed nowadays :) The game engine is much more random this year, as some have incredible results while it's not working for others, even in the same league system. The stability of my tactics in FM14 are far from what they were in FM13, I know that, but considering that the match engine was stable in FM13 and not in FM14, there is not much I can do about it. Just hope you get lucky in a new game or something :) FM14 is more about luck than anything else. Sorry I cannot give any advice on how to improve it for you. If I had any advice to give, I would release a new version of it instead.
 
Understand mate. It does seem incredibly random in general, not just your tactic. Would you recommend just perserving with the tactic or trying something completely different. Im in a network game so I need to find a solution really. Do some loads just not suit the tactics and no point in trying it again?
