Mr Langvatn FM16 Tactic Center

Had one game with 25 shots (1 on target). Opponent had 2 shots.

I lost 3-0 (2 shots on target and one own goal - a back pass from 25 yards that the keeper stood in the middle of the net and watched go in)

Try removing WORK BALL INTO BOX. Just done it in Ajax save. Won 4-0, less domination but attacking players were more clinical .... then CRASH DUMP lol

You can't base tweaks on singular matches mate :) When I do a tweak like that, I test for a full season to see if it's better or not :) The game is way too random to base anything on singular matches. In the test of the 3-4-3 v3, I beat Arsenal 7-0. If I reloaded that 7-0 match, I can guarantee you that if I reloaded it enough times I would eventually lose 7-0 also.

Mr L.,
Thanks for your great tactic work! I have a Q about the 343HMv3: The Def. Midfielders, which type is best sweeted: the defending type, or more the real CM type? Say: more the Heitinga type or the Serero or Klaassen type?

Mr Langvatn, could you please give your opinion on this?

Just bought FM16, started new game with Newcastle, played 5 lost 5 so far with this tactic. Am going to persevere with it (unless I get the sack!!!)

Newcastle 4 - 5 Norwich (EPL)
Man City 4 - 0 Newcastle (EPL)
Newcastle 3 - 6 Tottenham (EPL)
Preston 3 - 2 Newcastle (League Cup)
Newcastle 1 - 2 West Ham (EPL)

How to concede less goals with the 4411 spin the wheel?

Hi Mr Langvatn

I'm using the 4411 spin the wheel tactic and I can't easily win matches, as I always concede around 2 goals per match although I sometimes can score 2 or more but it doesn't seem easy to win. My possession is about 60% which is good, but my defence just panic by the counter attacks and my opponents can sometimes score 2 goals with only 5 to 8 opportunities...
How can I improve my defence?
thanks

Jerome, make sure you check with the reports of the opponent.
I find the most important countermessure you can have is were you set the D-line.
I don't know if the tactic will work as good if you tinker it, but you should try to see what the scoutreport say.
AKA, Avoid high D-Line vs fast players and avoid Deep D-Line vs slow players.
it's more to it than that, but basicly thats what i tinker the most with :)

I have to say, 3-4-3 Heavy metal is beast. I know Barcelona is top team. But I started with Galatasaray the 1st season and was using some other tactics that made me league, cup and turkish super cup champion, and got knocked out in 1st round after group of CL. So the 2nd season Barcelona approached me and got hired me as manager. You can see the results.

Important Note. Check Suarez and his goals. I just made him Complete Forward. When he was F9, he was useless.

Hello Mr L.
As I asked you couple days ago, I've tried your 3-4-3 v2, then v3 with a lower team, AS Nancy Lorraine, in my 1st season in Ligue 1. I was supposed to finish 18th and I've finished 7th, and that's a great performance. I also had the best attack of the league, 84 goals, 10 more than PSG, the champions, but I conceded too many goals, 79 goals in a season... around 2 goals by game. I know my players are not quite good, my DCs are only around 115 CA, but I wanted to know if you have an advice or anything else to help me concede less goals.
Thanks for your help :)

Other than D-line tweaking, there isn't much to do tactic-wise without losing the attacking strength. But, as you have only 3 defenders, it is important to invest in these, and also in the DM's. The keeper will also be tested quite much with this tactic, so it's important to invest in him too :) But remember, the 3-4-3 Heavy Metal tactic will never be "solid" in the back. It's as good in the back as it can get without losing a ton of goals. The 4-4-2 Heavy Metal is much more stable defensively, but scores WAAAY fewer goals.

Thanks for your answer. I did exactly what you told me, anticipating your advices :) Let's see what happen for the next season. For now, after 5 games, I'm 2W 2D 1L with 8/3 goals, a nice ratio :)

Just to update on this, no changes to the first choice starting 11 (other than those forced by injury or suspension), played another 6 games and won all 6 so it was sensible to persevere!

West Brom 1 - 3 Newcastle (EPL)
Newcastle 3 - 0 Liverpool (EPL)
Swansea 1 - 2 Newcastle (EPL)
Newcastle 2 - 0 Bournemouth (EPL)
Crystal Palace 1 - 5 Newcastle (EPL)
Newcastle 4 - 1 Watford (EPL)

Next 3 games are Man U away, Arsenal at home then Sunderland away!!!

Seems like team cohesion was the problem, either that or if the tactic wasn't 100% fluid before :)

is the 4-4-2 heavy metal best to use for away games if you are using the 4-4-1-1 at home???
