Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

Just a quickj update on my Nottingham forest save. I'm currently on my third season with Nottingham forest and i'm currently in fifth place in the league from 7 games.

During my 2013/2014 season I managed to finish 7th place and win the FA cup by beating wolves in the final. For this season I also used the rock classic with terrific effect. I did go against MR Langvatn's advice and signed a more than 2 players, but this wasn't an issue for me. Screenshot's below:

Anyway great tactic and keep up the good work.

I agree on using the Sicilian Defense. It's awesome for small teams but maybe a bit nerve wrecking. I once won when the opposition had 8 or 9 shots and I only had 1 shot on goal. Bayern Munich won't believe they've lost this!

But really, sign premier league level players, get them done early and have Team Cohesion Very High and Tactics on Full for the entire pre season. You should get them to blend well at most 2 months into the season if you got all of them in early. I once signed a whole new team on free transfers and it still worked.

mr L useing the queens gambit its great at home but loseing away to the likes off aston villa everton and now west ham im arsenal anything you can suggest

Update from ca/pa 200 test:

Couldnt get on with rock classic. No matter what I did I had mixed results while every1 was raving about it. Started a save with mansfield and pre season as normal high team cohesion etc... tactics. But normally threw season I switch the pre match training between att movement set pieces def positioning etc... depending in who im playing. This time I did pre season same but just left it on att movement all season. I must say. What a tactic. Killer yhe league and got a offer from Bournemouth which I accepted. Not knowing palace and blackpool had come down. Well in November and killing the league again. Hats off to ya pal.

finished 1st season with Udinese Serie A using Rock 4-1-4-1 Classic, league table and run in results below.

Pretty pleased overall, great tactic Mr L.

Two new tactic tests are on the way. Two new tactic? Did you say Gambit or other tactic?

Hey Mr L, I know you are using made up players for your current test. Have you set their player stats or did the game randomise them?

If random, can you post pics of the standout players from each tactic, so we can see how they perform/use as lazy filters.

All players in all positions are 100% equal :)

Just a quick update....

I've now left Hayes and Yeading in my third season as I got offered the Torquay job in league 2. I've whacked the rock classic into all 3 slots to get it up to speed and done the usual team cohesion on high to get them on their way to dying for each other as quickly as possible and have match prep on tactics.

Results as you'd expect whilst the tactic is being learned haven't been great but the tactic is almost fluid after only a few games. I'm hoping that once it is results will improve. The only other decision I have to make now is whether to use sicilian defence for games when I'm not favourite or just to stick with the one tactic.

Thoughts??

mr l im using ur 2-5-3 v2 tactic and my player get knackered and need resting all the time, I use that training u said light intencity is that right ?

Hi MR L

Just wondering - with regards to 2-5-3v2 is it essential to have a playmaker ticked?.....Wouldnt the footy be more free flowing and less one-dimensional if it was unticked and not focussed on one player getting the ball and spreading it out?.....Also the CM you have selected as Playmaker is the most defensive and yet has ''Play thru balls'' set to sometimes only....Im just wondering if the tactic may be better without the playmaker and what the thinking was behind it as Im a noob at these things lol

Also I seem to get a lot of disallowewd goals for offside and also seem to have a lot of shots on target but doesnt translate to goals - anything I can work on to improve this?......Training is balanced high and attack movement always

Im just trying to get the absolute best out of an incredible tactic!!

Cheers mate

I think Sicilian Defense is a tad stronger when being an underdog.
