Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

mr l im using ur 2-5-3 v2 tactic and my player get knackered and need resting all the time, I use that training u said light intencity is that right ?

If you have a thin squad, of course you need to reduce the training intensity if you have fitness issues :)

Hi Mr Leagvath,
Could you do the tactics for the team Cracovia Polish second division? I know you're telling the sycylian defense is weak teams but the team at the Cracovia are very weak and these tactics do not work .. I think a lot of people would have enjoyed if you did tactics for very weak teams. PS. Please Cracovia.

It's harder to do the tactics for the weak teams than strong ones...

Hi MR L

Just wondering - with regards to 2-5-3v2 is it essential to have a playmaker ticked?.....Wouldnt the footy be more free flowing and less one-dimensional if it was unticked and not focussed on one player getting the ball and spreading it out?.....Also the CM you have selected as Playmaker is the most defensive and yet has ''Play thru balls'' set to sometimes only....Im just wondering if the tactic may be better without the playmaker and what the thinking was behind it as Im a noob at these things lol

Also I seem to get a lot of disallowewd goals for offside and also seem to have a lot of shots on target but doesnt translate to goals - anything I can work on to improve this?......Training is balanced high and attack movement always

Im just trying to get the absolute best out of an incredible tactic!!

Cheers mate

Playmakers are very determined to get the ball forwards, and fast. That's why it works so well with the middle one, cause he will get the ball from the defenders and immediately pass to either the full on attacking wingbacks or the other two DM's whom also are extremely attacking. It's a counter-attacking tactic. I've tested all possible tweaks, and ended up with the one I uploaded here :)

About offsides, just get players with better anticipation I guess. Anyone tried the ppm "beat offside trap"? Maybe that helps?

Anyways, just keep improving your team, stick to the tactic. After a couple of seasons it becomes unstoppable.

Just a quick update to everybody here, the 2-5-3 angels and 4-1-4-1 Rock Classic is simply amazing. Rotated them based on the depth of the opposition, now I had scored 58 and conceded 13 in 16 games! Brilliant work once again Mr L.

I could of course try to make a better underdog tactic, but I see lots of people winning the EPL first season with teams by the standard of West Bromwich Albion etc... They are using the Rock Classic. Maybe I will make that my next challenge. Make a tactic while playing a really weak side. But out of curiosity, did u really get relegated or expecting to finish high in the league with a bad team?

I'll give a try to the 2-5-3 with FC Arges in Romanian League II

Dude, they have media prediction 1st. Certainly not a "weak" team compared to the other teams in that division... The Rock Classic or the 2-5-3 Angels V2 would suffice more than enough.

West Bromwich Albion are a strong team, and I'm talking about very poor at that this tactic does not work if you did the tactics that you could test it for Cracovia (Poland Second Division) would really help me, thanks! - http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/what-tactic-should-i-use-fm-2013/123953-tactics-very-poor-team.html my topic.

I checked rock not quite so good, I was looking for something to play counter-attack and that 2-5-3 does not fit into my team, I miss the players and the players do not have to change them during the game.

Hey Mr L,

just finishing up a few games using the D-X tactic by yourself and mr hough with some pretty good results (in particular with Southampton and Crewe).

Thought I'd give the 4-1-4-1 Rock a go as it seems insanely popular and didn't do too well with Bradford city. I think i ought the wrong players, particularly in midfield, where I think I should have bought more attack-minded players.

Other than sticking to the attributes suggested by the player roles, would you say there are any that are particularly important? I.e, is it more important that the team has pace in one department, or better mental attributes suh as creativity and decisions?

I'm planning on starting a save with Mansfield. They have enough cash for me to build a large enough squad to use a few tactics effectively (will use both Rock and Angels in year one, then add sicilian defence if promoted for more difficult games). I'll let you know how I get on, and keep up the good work :)

Strength and workrate is important this patch I think, for all positions. Other than that, just the standard attributes for their respective roles :) Physical > Mental > Technical imo.

I've clocked up over 200 hours on Socom II but I still think Metal Gear Solid 3 is better than it.

In my opinion MGS3 is the best game ever! Stunning Graphics, great storyline, likeable characters, good voice acting, excellent gameplay, and the list goes on. :D

The 2-5-3 v2 works pretty good with fc arges, but I'm going to use the 3-6-1 because I don't have any good keepers so my team concedes goals too easy. So can you tell me what training to use with 3-6-1? tactics high + def pos. or att movement?

Hropek: As you have no wingers, I would suggest one of these two. Try them. The Cracovia tactic is a modified version of the 2-5-3 Angels V2, to fit the team Cracovia. Works good.

Update 07.08.2013: Two new tactic tests are on the way. One where the teams I manage have ca/pa 200 and 10.000 reputation (top team test), and one where teams have ca/pa 120 and 5.000 reputation (underdog test). Placing these (100% equal) teams in the Premier League and will finish the season in both tests.

Results so far from the top team test:

MR Langvtan, Where is results for Underdog Team?

I'm still doing the top team test. This stuff is very time consuming. Playing all matches myself with all four teams and there are 20 teams in that league :P
