Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

Yup that is nice. Im going for a second season after this one. To decide what intruction for defensive line im going with. :)

Tactics with arrows can be used in normal (career) mode only, tactics made with the tactic creator, the ones without arrows and with player roles can be used in both.
I see ! thanks so much for the clarification !! but i wonder why, when i want to add new tactic (TC tactic) ingame, there's a letter 'C'..dont know if you noticed it..i thought it stands for Classic :P

Good to hear that..

Is it 4321 --> 4 flat defenders, 3 flat DMCs, 2 CMs, and lone striker ? no wingers/wingbacks ?

The TC tactics don't have a C next to them.

It can be a bit confusing because there are two types of tactics.... one is the tactic creator tactics which work in both Classic and Career mode and the other type are called classic tactics because they use the old classic way of creating them but, despite being called classic tactics they don't actually work in classic game mode, only in career mode :P

If you can do that with Newcastle in the first season with no signings then I would use whatever defensive line you used for that season!

Haha. Yup. True :) It's very promising to say the least. Been playing arround with time wasting alot tonight, along with CF and different tempo settings, and i must say im pretty pleased so far.

Player filters

Ok firstly I just won league 2 with Torquay in my second season with them. That's one promotion and one league win using mr.l's tactics in 4 seasons starting unemployed. I've been using the original rock player filters regardless of which tactic I've been using. On the OP we can see player roles for most tactics. Are we to assume then that so long as determination, work rage and teamwork are decent. ....... we use the standard stats for each position?

For season 5 in league one I'm using the two current best tactics on the thread the 451 and 442 created by our resident 3 gurus. What are the player roles for both and does what I mentioned in the first paragraph apply?

Well. I want to make it perfect first. I have to make sure it's not just an coincidence. Trying different settings atm, regarding defensive line. If i went to upload it now ppl would ask me 10000 questions about what type of players etc. Want it to be 100% accurate before uploading it.. hope you understand :)

Edit: And now i won against City away... this is starting to become insane :D

Nice one :) If you want, I can test it in my template, without uploading results until it's ready ofc.

You can find the player roles you would want for the different tactics at the front page :) Ye, standard stats for each "role" applies :)

I can say with 100% certainty that Lukaku fits the left striker role in the 4-4-2..... 12 games 16 goals 3 assists average 8.00 with WBA season 1 no signings.

ops my bad. yup youre right, TC tactics does not have letter C next to it. honest mistake. (A)

Just done a couple of tests with WBA same fixtures over first 20 games for the 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 and the 4-5-1 got 37 points and the 4-4-2 got 43 points.

Now I know it's not many games and the RNG and all that but, I watched all the games on extended highlights and the 4-4-2 played much better and my team won games much easier than with the 4-5-1, also in the 4-4-2 test I had more injuries and two of the 3 games I lost were due to being down to 10 and 9 men, was 1-0 up against man city and lost 2-1 after going down to 9 men. The 4-4-2 also scored 18 more goals over 20 games but conceded the same amount. So certainly in my experience the 4-4-2 is better, at least for mid table prem sides.

Gonna do the same test with the rock now and see how it goes. Not expecting it to do as well as the 4-4-2 but would expect around the same points as the 4-5-1.
