Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

After being promoted season 1 to the championship as Walsall, The signings I made were mid table quality and no more.

10 games to go im sitting in playoffs near promotion, would have been all wrapped up but i lost 6 games in a row just before january, still scratching my head on that one, because although the team is bad its never looked that bad!
 
The Rock and Sicilian Defence seem to work even with other match prep than the suggested and also in combination with other tactics:

Velez - expected to come 7th - In Feb leading by 6 points (4 defeats - at least one of which was not the fault of the tactics). Comfortably in all the cups as well.
El Ahly - expected to come 3rd - In Feb leading by 3 points. Knocked out of one of two cups. 4 defeats and some draws. Not the fault of tactics but of squad size bearing in mind the many competitios.

But the tactics are so good that its all a bit boring as plug and play means plug and do nothing ....

welli had an upand down season i was 5th before trying the classic tactic made my self 2nd with one gme to go an even if chealsea lose i wont win title due to better goal diffrence lol won fa cup against arsenal tho so good first season me thinks :) wier thing is that i never seen chealsea win epl in frst seaon lol always man u or man city lol also noticed putting the wide midfielders up to wingers works better

Are the players "green" in their positions? Are you using any opposition instructions or preferred moves? (don't use any of these). There are so many things to think about. Hard to pinpoint what you're doing wrong :)

Maybe they had some favourite personell that you fired :)

Good point on the personell but I think it must be deeper than that. Seriously, I NEVER get positive reactions. I understand how team talks work when you are winning but wow its hard it the space that they are in.

Ive even reverted back to the rock and I can only seem to draw. Frustrating as anything. Tactics are fluid, players are green apart from sterling (left mid). Hmm... I might get my assistant to try the team talks... see how it goes.

Prediction: Relegation
Achieved: 2nd, promoted to championship

Walsall second season

Prediction: Dead last, why even try
Achieved: 1st place, promoted to the Premiership.

going to get battered next season for sure!

I just let the assistant do the teamtalks in my test. I never do the teamtalks myself really. Just buy an assistant manager with good motivation :)

Teamtalk is probably the most important part of the game...i really wouldnt recommended let so important thing to assistant.

Press conference and praising/blaiming are also one of the most important parts of the game. Communication is the key...tactic is cream on the cake :D

How to Set General Practice and how to set personal training athletes? I tested each of your tactics on a weak team, and this tactic is still the best.
 
struggle to beat arsenal, man u, man city, chelsea and tottenham away

I am playing with Liverpool and keep finishing 4th year after year purely because I can not beat the big boys away from home.

I am playing with a tweaked version of the 4-4-2 gung ho tactic (screen shots attached) which is pretty unbeatable home and away except when coming up against the big four or five in the Premiership AWAY. I get thrashed 5 or 6 - 0 usually. I need to at least draw with the big boys away so I can win my first premeirship.

How could I tweak this tactic for these important games against the big teams away from home? Basic tried and tested settings when approaching tough away games? This would help me in the champions league also.

Can you suggest one of your tactics I could use instead. I have tried the ROCK tactic with little success. I was thinking of the 442 angels v2 or a complete change of shape using the 2-5-3.
 
really sorry to ask this but been away!!!!! training what do we do pre season then thru the season?? seems to have changed which is best?? please help??

Why do you keep asking for a new tactic, there are loads in this thread, the best tactic for this years fm in the rock classic, plus not being disrespectful to other tactic makers, there are loads on fm base and also other forums, im having a great time playing as celtic, even tho i hate them in real life, league is too easy but thats ok, champs league is what im trying for, makes it exciting, iv played 2 seasons so far, got to the quarter finals and got beat by a 91st min goal by bayern, i play on fmc so dont have to worry about team talks and all the other rubbish thats on normal, so give mr l a break and stop asking fir tactics, and im not having a go, just saying, so dont take this offensively :)

I use training like in the screenshot from the bayern save (top of the front page) Individual, I set fullback, central defender, central midfielder (dmc), box to box and complete forward.

Like I said, I'm working on improving the Rock, which is a nearly impossible task, and almost impossible to test when ruling out RNG. It needs soooo much testing to confirm even a small change.
