Do you think this tactic would do well without the use of the corner exploit?

Its ok. If you want to stick with the original tactic, you can but you just need the instructions of both DC to LD with defend duty and make both FB to run with ball sometimes not always. I think this tweak avoid concede more goals.

Won the CL in the first season, beat Real Madrid 7-2 on aggregate in the semi final :D.

I have a lot of screenshots to post but unfortunately FM-Base only works on my phone (says server is down whenever I try to access it on my laptop).

Anyway, in the summer just after the 1st season. Bought Hulk in for 15mil and sold Nani for 33.5mil to Chelsea (he was rubbish all season). Just had an offer of 46mil for Vidic from Real Madrid, 30mil is to be paid in installments over 48 months, the deal is negotiable too. Should I sell him?

He was amazing from corners and just generally a wall in defence but he's turning 31 soon and that kind of money is tempting. If I did sell him then who should I buy to replace him? Ideally I'd want someone just as lethal from corners.

Are you on the latest patch?

The corner setup changed slightly on the new patch meaning they aren't as effective, so you won't see Vidic getting 50+ goals per season, so if you relied on corners for the majority of your goals in the previous patch you might see a drop in the number you score now.

Personally, I found in your first tactic that I didn't concede too many as long as I was careful with who I put in defence. In games where the opposition had a very attacking LW I'd put Smalling at RB, also if they used a fast striker I'd put Jones at CB. I did this in certain games and it meant I could stop attacks more effectively.

I like your result mate. Congrats! I think Hulk is great buy even I didn't ever buy him in FM2012. Yes, Nani is rubbish when he is allowed to make long shoot. If you can make him shoot rarely, he is good.

Wow! So total negotiate is 48 mil right? I think Vidic is greatest CB in FM2012. My 2nd season, he still score more goals.

For me, you can sell him if you find someone that can replace him and do what he done. And make sure the price of Vidic is expensive. If you sell him, look at this player. Only Bassong that I've tried with Tottenham and he scores like Vidic.

Yes..that's right mate. The goals from corner is less so the overall goals is decrease. In my previous game, a lots of goals came from Hernandez, Rooney, Vidic and both wingers. But in new patch, a lots of goals came from Hernandez, Rooney and wingers. Surprisingly, Valencia won World Player of the Year and World Footballer of the year award.

Really? That's great man. So, it depends on how you manage defensive line right? Maybe we need fast defender to catch the fast striker and cut through ball.

I managed to get Willian in the first season for 7mil, after I'd sold Park for 9mil, and it seems like Hernandez plays better with Willian at AML than Young at AML. Valencia for me gets mostly assists, but he scored a good amount of goals too.

With the defence I think if you alter the player selection depending on the opposition you will concede less. For instance, I noticed that when facing Chelsea I was able to stop Torres much better by putting in Jones instead of Ferdinand as he is fast enough to keep up with Torres.

Also, I didn't sell Vidic in the end, Real didn't want to negotiate and I couldn't find any really good replacement for him so I'm going to try and develop some of the defenders in my youth team/reserves.
 
How do the wingers play in this tactic? Do they cut inside and go on individual dribbles or get to the byline and put in a cross? I prefer the 1st style I mentioned. Has anyone tried this without the corner exploit? Just wondering how badly it will effect the tactic?

I think it varies as to how the wingers will play. In my experience they can cut inside and put in crosses, although I think it depends on what preferred moves the individual players have.

Also, regarding corners. The new patch has reduced the effectiveness of the corner exploit. Your CB will still score quite a lot from corners using this tactic but you won't see them getting 50+ goals a season. In my save Vidic got near 40 goals, however this was mostly due to Ashley Young being a good corner taker, also he wasn't scoring in every game, he got a couple of hat-tricks and scored some from free-kicks. Okay that's still a very impressive amount of goals, but it's not as much as people were getting before the latest patch and it's not like you will see your defender scoring every game.
 
I am in charge of Man Utd after my 3 seasons with PSG.Last season i am playing with this tactic and it is awesome!Look at Vidic last season below.Team scored 126 goals.I changed this tactic little bit because i have Neymar and i want him play as trequartista.Shortly,with this tactic team can find goals with any chances.Corners,freekicks,organized attacks etc.

This tactic is a awesome i am currently using it with swansea in season 3 (been using it from the start).I finished 7th in first season and 8 th in the second and currently 6th half way through the 3rd season.Now any one who has used swansea will know you dont get much money and no one wants to sign for you thats really good so i have bought the ocasional player but had to rely on free transfers so this is my current team

now quntero is an absolute goal machine scored minimum 45 goals each season for me and diego costa who you can usually get for free at beginning of second season does well too rest of the team could be better but with lack of funds its difficult oh and trophys won are the carling cup both times and i am in the final again also got knocked out of euro cup at semis twice obviously i qualified through winning carling cup
anyway just thought i would update my progress for you hancuryahudi
