Nice stuff Chris, by far the best story on Base ATM. The fact you are still going on the story after 5 seasons, when most give up after 2 or three |). Also, you are a Toon fan, so I love you for that aswell :P

Newcastle United 2-2 Manchester City (Newcastle win 6-5 on penalties.)

Yes, Newcastle United, the team with two consecutive Premier League wins, have won the Community Shield for the second year in a row. Last year, Newcastle defeated Chelsea 2-0 but it was much tighter this year. Newcastle were pushed all the way and thanks to Marco Verratti's in game brace and Sandro scoring the winning penalty. Ironically, Sandro hasn't scored in 18 months! Man City scored 2 goals in the first 3 minutes through Adebayor and Richards and Hamsik missed a penalty soon after. Verratti got one back in the 18th minute and super Marco did it again in the 89th minute! We went on to win the penalty shootout 6-5 when Toprak missed and Sandro blasted the ball home. Another great trophy win!​
