Newcastle Stun Madrid!

Newcastle United 3-1 Real Madrid (Gignac, Keirrison x2)

After Newcastle found themselves on the end of a defeat to Hertha BSC, they looked out of the Champions League, embarrassingly, in the group stages. No-one thought that Newcastle could topple the richest club in the world to secure 2nd spot in the group and gaining a tasty draw with Inter Milan. Gignac was the hero after just 1 minute of the match. The striker has been on pretty good form recently so it was no surprise when he collected an Aaron Ramsey through ball on his chest and struck a sweet shot low into the bottom left corner. Madrid were stunned and it got worse for them on 21 minutes when Sergio Ramos, needlessly hacked the tricky Gignac in the area and Keirrison stepped up confidently to score his 2nd Champions League goal of the season. 12 minutes later, the game was truly over. Keirrison inflicted the final blow on a dreadful Madrid, scoring a beautiful 20 yard strike which whistled into the top corner! Kaka gave Madrid some consolation on 68 minutes but it was not enough for the superb Newcastle who defied the odds to go through to the next round!
Gignac has found form of late and he sent Newcastle on their way to a memorable victory against Madrid!

After that shocking result the, Newcastle still needed Hertha to lose against bottom side Benfica. It was still a massive task but Newcastle have never been so grateful to a team. Benfica strolled to a 3-0 win, their first in the Group Stage to send Hertha crashing into 3rd place. Here is how things stood at the end of a very exciting six matches:

1. Real Madrid- W4 D0 L2- 12Pts +4
2. Newcastle- W3 D1 L2- 10Pts +8
3. Hertha BSC- W3 D0 L3- 9Pts -3
4. Benfica- W1 D1 L4- 4Pts -9

Newcastle's Top Champions League Scorers:
1. Giuseppe Rossi- 4
2. Keirrison- 3
3. Andre-Pierre Gignac- 3
4. Asier Susueta- 1

Great in vs Real ^^)

Future Champion's league winners? (A)

Lol, cheers Nick. We were pretty poor at times but we've been runners up once so you never know. :)

Due to exams and an 8 day school trip to the Ardeche, this won't be updated for a while.

Sorry lads. :( Expect quite a few in half term though. :)

Before I leave for France, I thought I'd give you a small insight into my updates after my eight day break. I hope you enjoy. :)

24th December 2014, The Alps, France.

I sat on the French train pondering my next move. It was vital for my career. I was enjoying my time at Newcastle United, how can you not after 4 and a half seasons at a club, but everything about the club seemed to bore me now. All of my friends in Newcastle had moved on. There was no Colin Calderwood or Derek Wright, both had been brilliant at my time with the 'Magpies'. I had recently lost my mother and I was suffering. I was spending minimum amounts of time with the players and more time in front of the TV. I knew what I wanted now. A new club. But, did I have the heart to leave Newcastle United, who I hold so close to my heart? What about the fans, who had grown use to my eccentricity? But most of all, what about the players? I had grown a strong bond with Steven Taylor, Ryan Shawcross and young Ryan Donaldson. They needed me now more than ever but could I leave them on the last day of 2014? I had an eight day holiday in France, to decide. In eight days time, my fate rested in the hands of the only person I could trust. Myself.
