I agree with you man. CBs are always taught to jockey and not dive in when the opposition is attacking. To make the attacker decide how he is going to beat you. By stepping up this simply allows him to pick his pass and you're done. CBs should always divert back to goal and delay the attacker for as long as possible. A good example is David Luiz. Always charging up the pitch diving into tackles and gets caught out of position. Look how he's criticized for it.
david luiz is actually really bad defensively, but on the other hand delaying the attacker gives others a chance to get into play , so it works both ways I guess
