When will this game stop ******* you with scoring?! Why the **** do I have create double the chances than the opponent to MAYBE get the same amount of goals? SCORING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TACTICS! Creating chances does. I'm really getting tired getting out scored in games I'm in total control. Why the **** would I waste my time with tactics and and other stuff in the game when I regulary get screwed in matches... It's starting to feel that FM14 is finally crossing the line and I'm almost ready to quit this ****.

Also I can remember when playing at home ment something. Now it doesnt mean ****.

Got FM today for Christmas and in my first season with Swindon I faced Chelsea in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Leading 1-0 for the whole game and then they score with the last kick of the game. I was literally crying and crying with despair :(
 
Seriously what the **** is up with defenders? It's almost impossible to test tactics.
They go from being godly interceptors to on-pitch spectators when the opponent has control of the ball. It's also impossible to get them to clear the ball correctly. My player has the ball almost at the corner flag, then out of nowhere he passes it into empty space close to my penalty box where an opponent just runs in and scores.
They clear the ball out to corners with no pressure at all, then decide to head the ball into an own goal without anyone even challenging them in the air.
They cannot tackle what so ever. No matter what the instructions are they just watch the opponents dribble them, they don't challenge and they don't try to block shots.
But at intercepting passes they are godly, the only way they can defend.
*sigh*

Tip: Do not, what so ever, instruct your keeper to throw out balls or pass the ball shorter to start your attacking moves from deep. The amount of mistakes coming that way is absolutely insane. Examples: defenders don't collect the ball and an opponent snaps it up and scores. They start an infinite pass back and forth with the keeper until an opponent intercepts and scores. Or they simply just gives the ball away at first touch.
Just instruct the keeper to take long kicks, save yourself the frustrations.
 
Higher tempo and shorter passing don't work that well together.

I am playing as Arsenal and i cannot create any chances! I usually have around 65% possession even against big teams but i cant create any chances. My players just pass it around until they tackled and when they are going forward they just lose the ball due to a misplaced pass or they try to play a through ball into giroud but it is always intercepted or is too long. Sometimes they even play it back to the defenders during a counter attack. Here is my tactic... Please give me feedback on what you think of my tactic and how to improve it to create more goalscoring opportunities.:)

after the update i have big problems. my GK throws the ball to my WB,he loose the ball to A1 striker so he can score easy goal.happens almost every game.and no,i dont tell my GK to deliver the ball to my WB.

when will they make this game good? guess never

Critical goals, this is where most of my frustration lies, i only seem to bag a cheap goal when i'm already 2 or 3 goals up or when its not really needed, but all the o.g's, unforced defensive errors and penalties the AI are given are mostly all critical, as in they make a massive difference to the outcome of a game.

The timing is incredible, it seems that just when the AI needs it one of the above will come about out of nothing or nowhere, its like a cheap shot the game takes and its just one more annoyance that sends you over the edge and makes you start posting rants on forums lol.

Amen to this! Today playing Liverpool against WBA and the score was 1-1 near the end. Toure tried two times to free the opposition striker by passing to the keeper from midfield when he was under no pressure and had multiple options to pass to a fellow team-mate upfield. Well, the third time was the charm and he managed it and I lost 2-1. It was fun to watch because after two attempts I knew what was going to happend. :)
 
I think this year will be the first time since 92/93 that I haven't bought the game straight away. I purposely refrained from buying until there were more positives than negatives and it looks like unless there's a massive dramatic improvement over January/February I'm afraid my buying streak will be over.

I hope in the future more people will do exactly this. When people keep throwing money at them they don't need to give us a good product because they'll earn their bucks either way. I won't be buying another fm until I know the match engine has improved a lot.
If people refrain from buying, it forces them to make a better engine to make sales again.
 
fm 14 is the worst fm game I have ever played in fact I think its that bad I wont be playing it again no consistency strikers are all ***** passing is **** your teams play well in friendlies and then in league games they just play rubbish I havnt had a down load tactic that have worked properly yet.I have been playing this game since it first started but this version is the worst ever
 
I agree mate been playing fm since it started and this version is ***** worst ever, game play is rubbish, players run around like they are zombies the passing and shooting is rubbish and whos idea was it to put a stadium roof in the game play which gets in the way absolute **** wont be buying again unless they come up with an add on which improves this by a long way very disapointed
 
Long balls are seriously annoying me at the moment. Opposition just boots the ball from deep in their own half and somehow all my defenders miss it and the opposition have a very simple goal. Happened so many times. Also mistakes from the defence or goalkeeper. Stupid mistakes aswell like throwing the ball out to the defender who makes a shocking touch, gives the ball away and the opposition score. Or the ball just been thrown straight out to an opposition player.

Then there are the stupid things like a player who can easily go and get the ball with ease, leaves it for a player who runs like 40-50 yards to get the ball and then sometimes loses out to the opposition who go on and score. It's just stupid at times. Love football manager 2014 but at times it is seriously frustrating and annoying.
 
Possibly the worst fm I've ever played. Concede countless amounts of corners and last minute goals and the match engine is awful. Wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.

Three goals from corners. Does this mean that before I have time to practice def. set-pieces my professional players dont have no skills what so ever to defend corners? ;) Got two penalties so it's highly likely that without those I wouldnt have won! So, I have to agree with the fellow poster above. Worse FM ever. Also I believe that the "fact" that the ME doesnt know which one is the player and which is the AI is utter and complete BULLSHIT. That **** (=scoring three goals with out having any real chances) never (or very rarely) happends to the player but consistantly happends to AI teams.
 
I havnt trained set pieces all season. Tho I still score almost all my goals from corners. Tho same goes for the opposition.

When I score it is apparently a perfectly executed set-piece from training. When they score it is cuz I havnt trained defending set pieces enough, according to my assistant. Trained set-pieces season before that with almost the exact same results. Imo it does absolutely nothing.
