mate, im still playing fm11...i tried the demos of 13 & 14, and they were both *****. Ive thought SI are scammers for a while now. Unless something radical happens there, i wont be buying any future fm's. I totally agree with ya.
 
I dominate the game and lose! 75% possession 30 shots.. they have 25% possession 1 shot and i lose 0-1 ****. YOU. SI
 
Gaaaaaaah! I'm crying here. Beating my sofa cushions. Chewing on a pillow. Why does the CPU always score on their first shot? They're so clinical it's ridiculous. Not a single tactic has taken me and LFC past new year. I'm losing it here. Looney bin!
 
When playing in League 2, with all your tactics and training sorted and all that, and you keep getting beat by teams of mostly 'greyed-out' youth team players (often 4 or 5-0), you know that SI have completely ****** up the ME. They should have had the honour to not release the game until later this year when it was ready or not at all. Hopefully sales for FM15 will be way down. That would learn them ^^).
 
Probably not the best place to post this:
Season 1: close to 15 defeats.
Season 2: approx. 7-8 defeats ( i can't give you exact numbers because i'm not using my laptop atm)
Season 3 (ongoing): played about 30 games so far, 2 defeats, 3 draws. Haven't bought a single player because i have lots of high potential young players, and i am a "Develop your youth" freak.
Tactic is based on the following:
1. Don't concede
2. Score
So even if i don't win, i rather not lose. If you use a D-Day tactic, all or nothing, most times you end up with nothing. Yes, FM14 hates humans. Everybody likes attacking and possession football, i can't tell you how many times i tried to recreate my great tactics from FM13, but if you would have to adopt a certain managers ideology, i would suggest go with Mou. Go with the counter, or even control, but always have men in the back. I don't think there is a statistic of how many goals you conceded from counter-attacks, but i think mine would be low.

PS: If i don't forget, i will post a few screenshots of me being dominated completely, and still winning by even 2, 3 goals.

I hate it, i LOVE football manager but cannot play it because it is unplayable. 13 and so far, with the new update, 14, are both utter failures, its like they dont want us to enjoy the game so they constantly create utter bollocks and do everything they can to stop people playing the game and enjoying it, because its no longer enjoyable
 
I swear SI want you to hate this game. 2 separate saves with 15 and 10 unbeaten runs respectively. Load both today with the same tactics, players and training and in the next 4-5 games I can't create a chance let alone score a goal. I thought it must be a patch update but it's still saying 14.2.1.

What have they done to what was such a great game.
 
I hate this game right now. This patch is really bad. What is going on. It has been 3 months since the release and the ME is still crappy. I have been playing this game for about 15 years and this one is ****. SI dont release anything before it is done. We are paying you money for this....
 
With the same save I'm managing two very different teams: FC Porto, main contender in the portuguese league, and Boavista FC at the III division (currently II division after being champions). I'm at the 3rd season, three with FC Porto and two with Boavista, and with FC Porto we've won 2 titles, 3 supercups, 1 cup and 1 league cup and reach in both seasons the semi-finals of Champions League. With Boavista I've found quite easy to win the III Division Title and although the press forecasted a 19th place (out of 22) for the II Division, we are currently at the 1st place and still competing both in cup and league cup. Two different teams, two different tactics and what I think I can call two stories of success.

So, considering this how can I post my frustration ? I guess my deepest frustration regarding this year edition of FM is the step that was made regarding the new tactical system. SI have conditioned us all to play into their own logic of football, introducing a very rigid system that only facilitates success if you play by their logic... and it's a british game, so it's a british logic. This is very frustrating and also very wrong, mainly because the game allow us to manage a team in a great variety of countries and each one, in each league the logic / idea / style / philosophy of football is different, so it's obvious that the game should allow us (as it did in previous editions) to set our own logic. Possession based style is highly damage in this edition: not that it's a problem to have possession (like 65-70% or more) but either you have this high possession or you have results. Wanting both is kind of an impossible mission.
Then we have the specifics:
a) it seems SI looked into the main European leagues and concluded that even the top teams end the championship with an average of 1 goal against / match (a kind of 38 matches played / 38-45 goals against). No matter what, your top team will have this average or close to. Completly irrational because 1) why can't I have the tactical and strategical freedom to achieve a lower average ? 2) most European leagues are not as competitive as the top leagues (portuguese league is not) so it's rather common to see top teams at minor competitive leagues to achieve lower averages... for SI it is not;

b) FM13 had a few on / off instructions: if, for instance, I would need the all structure of a DLP but without the hold the ball instruction that was just fine, I would just switch off the instruction. Now I can't! I have to choose a completly different role in order for that player doesn't hold the ball... and a different role is a different structure, with higher or lower mentality, with higher or lower CF and it will have deep implications in my style of playing.

Like I said, I have no problems with winning and with two different teams, so I can't say my frustration comes from lack of results... but my frustration has a lot to do with SI defrauding my expectations because I can win but only in SI terms and logic. And football has nothing to do with logic!!!

Finally, by other frustration is to look into a game that has evolved a lot, that in spite of lots of bugs still makes me vibrate during matches but still lacks things that are basics:
a) Shout instructions to motivate players simply doesn't exist: if my player is complacent, I can't do nothing;
b) Defending throw-ins set piece instructions doesn't exist

I guess at least these two should be very simple to introduce, although I would consider that by now it should be a reality to set tactical instructions when your team have and doesn't have the ball.
 
You know what REALLY ****** me off on this game? You try to set up a possession based tactic, but also has Pass Into Space (which is supposed to increase through balls, not what aimless hoofing) and you defenders (despite all being set to Pass Shorter) constantly first time whack the ball as hard as they can, under absolutely NO pressure, straight out for a goal kick, ignoring all the easy passing options within 10 yards of them. They're not even through balls, they're just aimless hoofs to no one. Occasionally, one or two of these hoofs may be underhit a bit and may turn into decent-ish through balls. Doesn't matter though, because your pacey players just stand there and don't react to anything that the ME hasn't decided has been played to them.

Yup, instructions don't work as much as they should, it's understandable when playing "Fluid" formation as players have more creative freedom. I used Go Route one once chasing a result and my players were playing short passes..

At times even players like Yacob with "Plays short simple passes" play long balls for striker.
 
Inconsistency!

Really starting to lose my patience in the game now. I have tried countless tactics, instructions, formations to no avail. What always seems to happen is, I start well at the beginning of the season. Plenty of goals, possession, clean sheets and then all of a sudden the team just goes off the boil; and do the complete opposite of what they were doing and I just cannot keep a clean sheet, let alone create any chances. I'm really starting to lose faith in the game now and close to just giving up. The ME is appalling, the players do no listen to the instructions, despite playing rigid, they just seem to do their own thing. My full backs and striker just seem to be ghosts throughout 90% of the game.

For creating the worst FM ever

AI corner results in goal 90% of the time
AI free kick outside of the area results in a goal 95% of the time the last 5% it hits the post, the amount of smashed in the corner by some poor player with low free kick taking is insane, and your keepers pathetic atempt to save the free kick by throwing himself feet first is just laughable
The amount of chances your own team needs to score vs the half chance AI needs
Strikers with low acc and pace that outpace your defenders despite being way slower
Wingers that constantly winning tackles against your defenders

Is this even tested before it is released???
 
If you would love to explain how its the game's fault, when there are people who have huge success.. Don't blame the game, blame your tactics/managing.

can hardly believe that statement considering the volume of people going up in arms..
This game is now a piece of ****. people spend countless hours (for me DAYS) working and mastering 2 or 3 tactics (in my case SEVEN) and then all of a sudden new patch comes out and what? my days of tactic making have come to nothing as none of them work. Explanation on a postcard please.

Stop playing? or play fm 10, 11, 12, 13, 09 ,08?? you're never out of this thread, so give up and play something else would be the best idea ? ME is broken, tactics dont work, then give up, play an old one, wait for final patch, try it? still dont like it? sell the game. job done.

wish i could sell the game but i bought it online? i have been playing FM13 and funnily enough none of this **** happens on that.. and i booted up FM 12 from ye olden laptop and guess what? none of this ****.

Are you for real... so it's Down to my tactic that players smashes the ball into the corner from free kicks despite having low numbers and a very very slow striker outpaces my defenders despite having way lower stats in acc and pace. AI corners has been a failure since FM 11.
I have success in the game, but when this happens 2/3 games it just ****** me off and when you watch your top quality striker miss one-on-ones Again and Again because of some wannabe Buffon you start pulling your hair in frustration especially when you bombarded the keeper back to the stoneages... so yea I blame the game
