Rafael Benitez sacked as Internazionale coach

Morratti apperently wants Guardiola in an attept to lure Messi to Inter, some how i just dont see this happening lol

Not the last 5 seasons fuckwit
A bit like Spurs actually!!

stop ******* trolling.
especially when you're no ******* good at it! least Scott is more subtle ;)

anyway, be a shame to see such a great manager treated fairly badly again..

interesting how suddenly there is no talk about inter...

Wonder what reaction Moratti will get from the fans, since they actually like a rafa a lot

Don't understand how Mourinho, who won Inter a treble and their first European trophy for years, never really hit it off with the fans or edia but Benitez, who is doing very poorly, is loved, :S

Wonder who'll replace Rafa (if he leaves...)?
leonardo is the short term name apparently

they never liked his showy approach. Rafa was understated, only showing it when needed. and they like that

Wouldn't Leonardo go down like a lead balloon with the fans having managed AC? Weird they'd sack a popular manager and replace him with Leo...

that was my thinking but apparently talks are at an advanced game. This was Rafa calling out Moratti, and Moratti not backing down. Though some argue that Rafa must have known Moratti wouldnt have backed down, he never has before, so maybe he was trying to get himself sacked

But I just heard that Inter said Raffa was still manager.........

beyond a mess lol. Be having SSN on early tomorrow morning to find out though.

Aquilani is a good player who never fitted in. Babel was a talent who has a bad attitude and seems to just lurk about. Voronin, we made a profit on. Johnson is a good player. Itandje is just a joke. Josemi was *****, as was Kromkamp who was another we made a profit on, as we did with Mark Gonzalez. Pennant never played to his potential for us. Degen we got on a free and is a decent player who has injury problems, probably will make a profit if Stuttgart make his loan permenant. Dossena is another who never fitted in although he scored 2 goals against United and Madrid ;) Riera is undoubtedly another talented player who was largely inconsistant.

We never spent huge sums on any of them except for Aquilani who we will probably get a fair bit of money back from, we should break even on Babel and I reckon Glen Johnson is a decent right back.

The majority of the mistakes being under 5 Million, a fair few of them being free transfers.

Really late reply but meh,

Riera = £5.5mil + Finnin + Huge sell on fee
Johnson = 17.5mil!!!!!!!(ish) crazy for a defender that cant defend
Babel = waste of 11mil
Aquilani never did the job, hardly ever played = **** signing at 15mil(ish) + too much wages
"Josemi was ****" yes that is way i put him as a failed rafa transfer

You didnt even try to defend most of those transfers, just claimed they cost little. It is nearly as expensive to buy a player on a free nowadays compared to buying him straight out

Can say that about any manager to be honest. Everyone makes mistakes even the likes of Alex Ferguson have signed some shockers like djemba and kleberson.

Don't forget the players he signed to actually be 1st team players were big features in our team, Reina and Torres for example. The other were just cheapish fringe players to provide ok backup or potential players who I admit didn't work. Lets just say judging a players potential isn't his best attribute.

As for Aquilani hes playing in Serie A an has been named player of the month for his contribution at Juve. Hes got talent thats for sure he just needs chance to adapt properly which he will now hes playing this deep lying role instead of a more advanced role.

Just heard an update lads
Morratti will release a statement on Wednesday morning (today) announcing Benitez's sacking as boss of Inter Milan and it seems like it will be pretty unsavoury as Rafa plans to fight for a 6 million pounds pay off from his contract
Let no one say they didn't hear it here first ;)

imo Rafa didnt build a good side, Ferguson, mourinho etc. did despite the odd mistake

they wernt just cheapish fringe players as i posted above ;)

Rafa built a good side. Fact.

Rafa built a good side. Fact.

he did initially, then he screwed up liverpool so much that they finished 7. it was a long time coming but it was rafa's bad judgement that put the final nail on the coffin though.

Massimo Moratti has stated that rafa benitez is still the club's manager.

Confusion reigns over Benitez position

Reports that Rafael Benitez has been sacked by Inter Milan have begun to emerge from Italy and England, but Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti has stated that he is still the club's manager.

Speculation has been rife in recent days that the parting of ways of Benitez and Inter is inevitable, though the Spanish boss claimed on Monday that rumours he had been sacked were not true.

"I have not been sacked," Benitez said. "Many people that read the newspapers today have called me up to ask me if I had been dismissed. It's not true, I am surprised that it has been reported as a done thing.

"I am currently on holiday to rest and then to begin again. For months I have heard and read things that are not true.''

New reports that he had been sacked emerged on Tuesday, just four days after he led Inter to the FIFA Club World Cup title in Abu Dhabi. But Nerazzurri owner Massimo Moratti denied that Benitez had been fired, saying: "At this moment the manager of Inter is effectively still Benitez. That is factually correct, if I'm not wrong."

"I read about all these other names in the media, but the club won't contact any other coach until the situation is clarified."

Former AC Milan manager Leonardo has been touted by the Italian media as a controversial favourite to replace Benitez should the Spanish boss leave.

Benitez, 50, is currently on holiday in Liverpool as Inter have begun their winter break.

Inter have been decimated by injuries and are 13 points adrift of city rivals AC Milan in the Serie A title hunt, albeit having played two games fewer than the Rossoneri.

They next take to the field against Napoli on January 6, after the league's winter break.
