Rafael Benitez sacked as Internazionale coach

I said current club managers and that isen't my top 5, i just jotted 5 games down in no order.

You said European managers, if you wanted it based on Current Club, would be best to say that.

People on here saying 'oh my nan could manage Inter' makes me laugh, the bigger the club the bigger the ego's which makes the job harder.

Look at Mancini for example, he's got all the money he could want in the world yet he cant buy morale.

Yet Mancini has the chance to go top at Christmas tonight. Interesting...

Sorry if the game is actually off

Benitez just said the rumours were ridiculous. Alright rafa...we shall see

He had to sell players in order to bring others in at Liverpool. Yet he won us a European Cup and took us to another final 2 years later. Came within touching distance of the Premier League, won and FA Cup and gave us some of our greatest moments since Dalglish was at the club.

You say that but SAF doesn't exactly have the best owners in the world!
You say you had to sell to buy, but I don't think this is the case. E.g Aguero 26M, Aquilani 17M. Really your only sale over 10M or so (that I can remember) is Xabi Alonso but that was a Ronaldo Situation.

Think about it he was at Liverpool for about 5 years or more and the best thing he did was win European Cup & FA. I can commend him for EC but FA not really as that has gone down the drain these days and is turning into a League Cup.

Now compare him to the managers around him he didn't do much. Look at SAF, Mourinho, Ancelotti etc, he isn't doing too well for himself.

A lot of current prem managers like Holloway, Houghton, Rednapp could of won what he did at Liverpool if they had the job. Infact Rednapp beat Rafa and it is fair to say that Tottenham's team is weaker than Inter.

Hope these are just rumors. Serie A needs Rafa. It was just ridiculous to see Inter toying with the league equalling great Torino and Juventus side.

I think Rafa could be following in the footsteps of his Valencia successor and fellow Inter flop, Hector Cuper - look for him sitting on the bench of a mid-table Greek club in about five years from now. Good riddance. White liquid in a bottle has to be milk - a treble winning squad with a new manager sitting in seventh has to be the manager's fault.
As far as replacements go, there are rumors tying Luciano "Hearts Trequartistas, Hates Strikers" Spalletti to the soon-to-be vacant position. As an Inter fan, I hope they are nothing more than rumors.
If I could choose the man for the job, it'd be Mancini.

Firstly, a lot of this thread is going off topic no? [In general, what has the top 5 European managers etc. got to do with Inter Milan sacking Benitez?]

Secondly, have I missed something? When did Liverpool buy Aguero exactly because I'm fairly sure they bought someone else, Fernando someone? :S

He isn't doing as well as he arguably should be, but he has had a lot of injuries and an old squad. SAF and Mourinho are top, top managers tbf and haven't had a vast amount of injuries when they've won thing from what I remember...

So, Holloway, Hughton (spelt wrong, and not even a "current prem manager" since he was sacked...) and Redknapp could have won the Champions League with Baros, Dietmar Hamann, Finnan, Riise etc.? It really wasn't a great squad, and he did brilliantly to win it so don't talk absolute ****. (It's also not too bad coming back from 3-0 down in a CL final to Milan) - And Inter also beat Spuds, but Redknapp is arguably a better manager... that's not really important though.

Lol Aguero.

As for the FA Cup, it's the 3rd best trophy and English side can win if they compete in Champions League, if not, it's the 2nd best. I sincerely doubt any other manager could of won the Champions League with the same side that Rafa did.

p.s Finnan is amazing Joss =]

He had owners who backed him though, the Glazers have piled the debt on the club but they have hardly made his job difficult. We don't have Aguero, if you're talking about Torres, he basically had to beg the owners to give him the money for that transfer. Aquilani was bought with the money from Alonso, and he made a profit from that. How you can say it wasn't the case it laughable, it really is.

He won the greatest European Cup final ever, and took us to another one 2 seasons later. Won us an epic FA Cup, came very close to the league. All things considered he did a very good job at Liverpool.

Ancelotti is struggling as much as Rafa and has got nowhere near as many injuries?

Couldn't disagree more about this. None of the managers you named would have been anywhere near as succesful at Liverpool as Rafa, especially not Redknapp. And Rafa beat Redknapp in the first leg, you seem to have forgot..

Little difference is that Ancelotti won the double in his first season with none of his own staff.

Rafa has been at Inter for about 4 months :S

But people will slauter him because of the success they have recently had. Its just the way it is it will always be Jose vs Rafa.

Definitely. If I was an Inter fan I would be concerned, he is a good manager though, they should give him until the end of the season at least. I couldn't care less if they don't though :)

but the inter fans are actually pretty supportive of Rafa, something that seems to have been missed on this forum

Don't know any Inter fans, or talk to any so I am not sure. Most people admire his abilites, it is just a certain few that don't. I know Liverpool fans who still don't appreciate what he done at the club.

Just saw a piece on Sky Sports news talking about Rafa and his first 15 games in charge, won 6 drawn 5 lost 4 win% 40 and as soon as i saw that I know I knew there were gonna compare it to Mourinho's first 15 games in charge. Sometimes Sky Sports can't help but dig on the issue's sometimes when there is absolutely no need for them to, yeah it was frustrating being a Liverpool fan sometimes with Rafa in charge but Inter Milan have a class manager!
