rishmanisation's English Premier League Chairman Game (FM16 Edition)

Crystal Palace

View attachment 183134Deschamps still struggling at PalaceView attachment 183134

Things started off well over the month of February as Deschamps looked as though he had finally got to the grips with the premier league taking 7 points from 12:

> Crystal Palace 3-1 Norwich
(Bolasie, Chamakh, Ledley)
> Leicester 3-0 Crystal Palace
> Crystal Palace 2-1 Southampton
(Austin, Cabaye)
> Man Utd 3-3 Crystal Palace
(Austin 2, Zaha)

However things took a turn for the worse during March as Palace lost all 4 games with the defeat at home to fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa was seen as the biggest disappointment of the month:

> Crystal Palace 2-3 Liverpool
(Cabaye, Austin)
> Newcastle 2-1 Crystal Palace
(Bamford)
> Crystal Palace 1-2 Aston Villa
(Austin)
> Tottenham 4-1 Crystal Palace
(Bamford)

With only 7 games left, Corbett is hoping to see and improvement over April otherwise it could be the end of Crystal Palace in the premier league after just 3 years.

End of Season Update and In-game Awards

END OF SEASON 1.

First off, a massive thank you to all chairmen for their involvement in this inspite of the numerous technical difficulties! I appreciate the support and will try to keep next season relatively glitch-free.

This update won't contain any game-by-game results. Rather, it'll just contain the end of season league tables and stuff. The save will be uploaded for you to check out your results.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Champions: Arsenal

You normally wouldn't associate the tag 'free-spending' with Arsenal, but spend is exactly what the Arsenal chairman has done all year and he ends up with the league title in his hands.

Runners-up: Manchester City

Impressive season overall with 88 points. Unfortunately, Arsenal were just too good!

Champions League spots: Manchester United, Chelsea

Manchester United recover from a slow start to the season to finish third in the league. Chelsea manage to finish in fourth, one point above Tottenham, thereby condemning the latter to Europa League football once again.

Europa League Qualification: Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Swansea City

Relegation to the Championship: Aston Villa, Watford, Bournemouth

Promoted from the Championship: QPR, Derby, Wolves (play-off winners)

Surprise surprise! Atletico win the league, with Real Madrid in second place. Barcelona finish third!

BUNDESLIGA

Bayern win the league, as expected. Schalke meanwhile fail to qualify for Europe.

SERIE A

No surprises as Juventus win again. Comfortably too, by a margin of 11 points.

LIGUE 1

Once again, no surprises as PSG comfortably beat Monaco to the post. Huge shocker though as Lyon finish all the way down in 13th.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Champions: Arsenal

A remarkable double for Arsenal, as they beat Manchester City on penalties. Surely, they'll be favorites again next year!

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE

Champions: Borussia Dortmund

BVB beat Fiorentina (who by the way, knocked Barcelona out in the semis) in the Final. Tottenham were the best English team, making it to the semi-final before getting obliterated in the second leg by Dortmund.

UEFA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP - Group Stage Watch

View attachment 183067

England with a slightly tricky group, drawn alongside hosts France and Ukraine.

View attachment 183066

Spain with a relatively straightforward draw. Would expect them to have more firepower than the three teams they've been drawn alongside.

View attachment 183065

Germany with possibly the hardest group. Expect stiff competition from the likes of Croatia and Denmark, while one can never, ever count Greece out.

CHAIRMAN OF THE YEAR

Please send emails to [email protected] with your votes for Chairman of the Year! Include the club you're Chairman of, who you vote for, and a one line reason for your vote! You've got until 11:59 PM BST on Wednesday! Once that is done, preparations for the next season will commence.

Also, chairmen of relegated clubs can pick from the three promoted clubs right now. The team that finishes 18th picks first, then 19th, then 20th. Since I finished 18th, I pick QPR (think I deserve it too, after having to go through the emotional trauma of handling Aston Villa) :P

That leaves Wolves and Derby for you guys to pick!

As the transfer window approaches. Keep in mind the quality of the players that will be available at Arsenal!

Wilshere, Coquelin, Radu, Walcott, Jonny, Firmino, Welbeck and possibly Cech will all be available, as will several of our u21 players!

Season 2015-16

WOW!!!!! What end to the season. Swansea are heading back into Europe after a fantastic push to the end of the season. Jaap Stam's appointment in January is looking like being a stroke of genius with Swansea having moved from 14th in the Premiership when he arrived to managing to hold off the pressure from Everton to finish 7th and qualify for the Europa League. Club owner, Catherine Zeta Jones, has praised Jaap Stam and the whole Swansea squad for the success.

April Round-up

uelXfXv.jpg

April began with a trip to London to play West Ham at the Boleyn Ground for the last time before the Hammers move into their new ground next season. A typical hard fought encounter between the two sides ended in a stalemate after Nathan Dyer equalised two minutes after Alex Mowatt had scored for the Hammers.

Next up for the Swans were another London club but this time it was the Welsh club's turn to host Crystal Palace at the Liberty Stadium. André Ayew scored, what was his 9th league goal this season, in the 12th minute and then in the 20th minute Carlos Sánchez doubled the lead. Palace top scorer Charlie Austin scored on 39 minutes but that was the end of the scoring and the three points were taken by Swansea.

Swansea were back on the road again when they travelled back to play relegation threatened Watford. Ecuadorian Jefferson Montero scored in the first 60 seconds to give Swansea a fantastic start and although Watord played well they just couldn't put away any of the chances that they created. Ki Sung-Yeung scored his third goal of the season in the 76th minute and Swansea took all three points as the game fizzed out.

Swansea then welcomed champion chasing Manchester City to Wales and put a massive dent in their championship hopes as they beat last years runners up 1-0. Argentinian centre half Federico Fernández become the hero to the Swans fans after he popped up in the penalty box and smashed in the only goal of the game.

Next up was a very difficult match as Swansea travelled up to Goodison Park to play Everton, who were on a four game winning run, that were our closest rivals for the final Europa League spot. With only three points between the two teams and only two games left after this match, a win was vital for Everton to keep alive their hopes and unfortunately, for Swansea, James McCarthy scored the all important goal for the Toffees that gave them the vital victory. So with only two games left Swansea and Everton were level on points and Swansea sitting above Everton on goal difference.

May Round-up

35CGJmZ.jpg

On Saturday, Everton travelled down to the capital and beat Crystal Palace 2-1 to jump above Swansea and place them under pressure for their match at home to Sunderland on Monday night TV. A very nervous Swansea team struggled to play against a Sunderland team sitting just above the relegation spot. Kim Shin-Wook eased all of Swansea's nerves with a goal in the 24th minute and they managed to hold out to leapfrog back over Everton into 7th place in the league.

On the final game of the season, Swansea travel to West Brom knowing that victory will mean Europa Cup football next season. Everton welcome relegation threatened Watford and only a victory will give them a chance to pip Swansea to Europe.
West Brom hit first through Joel Campbell after 7 minutes and Goodison Park erupts as news trickles through to the fans in the ground.
Toffees fans begin to believe that they can do it after Kevin Mirallas scores in the 10th minute to give Everton a three point lead over Swansea.
Bafétimbi Gomis gives Swansea fans hope when he equalises in the 24th minutes but Everton still sit above them in the league.
It's all change in the 35th minute as Carlos Sánchez hits the back of the net for the Swans and Swansea are now in the prime position.
Nathan Dyer scores what could be a very important goal for Swansea in the 67th minute and Swansea fans have started to celebrate already.
Romelu Lukaku scores another goal for Everton in the 74th minute but it is not enough to earn the Toffees Europa League football next year.

Final scores.........
Everton 2 - 0 Watford
West Brom 1 - 3 Swansea

Swansea players and fans celebrate as they clinch the final spot.

A little bit on the transfer window. First, I will sim to July 1, move all loan players back to their original clubs. Then I shall start the transfer window. It will go on for three days, with a second-chance window on the fourth day. Then, I will sim through to August. This way, players can bed in during pre-season.

All this once the chairman of the year stuff is done of course!

How are we for activity with Chairmen, we looking to replace any one or fill in spare teams?

This is the list of current chairmen that i currently have.

I believe PoetryinMotion has a priority pick because his side were relegated (if he is still interested) and then there is 1 spare space available.

As Liverpool were free before one of the relegated chairmen took over, one of the newly promoted teams should be available.

Is there a team available? If so, count me in. If not, could you put me on the waiting list please?
