PULIS SACKED-

Southampton have confirmed they have "terminated the contract" of manager Tony Pulis with immediate effect. This comes after the takeover of southampton FC last night.

Southamptons new owners, the Bastos family, say they already have a verbal agreement with former Stoke city boss Andre Villas Boas to become The new head coach.

A statement on the club website said : "On behalf of the club, the Bastos family acknowledges that Tony's positive contribution to Southampton FC has not gone un-noted and wants to go on record with its thanks.

"The Bastos family also recognises Tony's impeccable conduct, representing the Saintswith honour and dignity at all times.

Although former Chelsea Manager AVB is a popular figure in English football, there will be some sympathy for Pulis, who finished 12th in the league last year, with the club in europe too.

More to come on the contact with AVB.

[h=1]ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS named as new Southampton manager.[/h]
Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has been confirmed as the new manager of Premier league side Southampton.

The basto's family, newly taken over of Southampton FC, had this to say -

"Everyone knows how Andre likes football to be played. I think Southamptons fans can expect an exciting and attacking style from his team. Andre represents this project perfectly."

The Bastos family have already outlined a double ambition of taking the club to the heights of champions league football and making the Saints financially self-sufficient.

They also plan to use what they describe as their "world-class scouting network" to bring new talent to the club, but insist they will not harm The Saints distinctive identity.

Secondary Transfer Window
"The secondary transfer window will close tomorrow morning at 08.00 GMT. Thus, you have 24 hours to make adjustments to your squad."
This was written yesterday! So the deadline is in 1h 30 mins!

Just a reminder!! As I've yet to recieve any bids for foreign players, I might extend this if people didn't see the deadline time at first :)

Not that much action in this window. Stoke brought in a couple of big names in Martial and David Silva. Norwich look to have strengthened well, and the rest are mostly young talents.

August & September Update

Community Shield
View attachment 153822

In the first big duel of the season, Lionel Messi scores the winner 1 minute into his debut. It was a less than joyful debut for Tin Jedvaj, who got himself sent off after 17 minutes. That was most of the action, as Arsenal pick up the first "title" of the year.

The league kicks off with a big match at Stamford Bridge, where Arsenal take the spoils after a brace from Mesut Ozil cancelled out Zivkovic's debut goal. Ronaldo made a goalscoring debut for Man Utd, and WBA held Man City to a draw. Martial, Götze and Gerson all make scoring debuts, and Norwich take a strong away win at the Stadium of Light.

View attachment 153816View attachment 153815A lot of action at St. James' Park, as the home side end up crushing Watford. Swansea take an important 3 point vs a strong Stoke side, and Southampton and Man City end up winning games 3-0, that looked to be tight fought games.

View attachment 153814View attachment 153813Drama at Selhurst Park as both teams get a player sent off and share the points. Swansea pick up another win, away at Southampton and Chelsea strike back, crushing Hull at home.

View attachment 153812View attachment 153811View attachment 153810The big story is Agirretxe, who scores a marvellous hat-trick for Watford, winning the game vs Swansea. West Ham beat an underwhelming Liverpool and Man City manage to beat Chelsea, who have struggled against the big teams at the start of the season.
QPR perform a feat, securing a draw at Old Trafford. A Martial double gives Stoke 3 points, and Sunderland pick up a massive win over Liverpool at home. Southampton also look strong, with 2 of their summer signings scoring.
Arsenal win the first North-London derby of the season, in a close fought battle. Chelsea beat Liverpool, who have had a horrid start to the season. Norwich beat Watford in an entertaining affair.

League Table
View attachment 153804
The top 3 already look to have put a gap down to the followers, with West Ham in an impressive 4th place. Wolves have had a awful start, and are yet to pick up a point. Stoke, QPR and not at least Liverpool have had a disappointing start to the season, with Liverpool in the relegation zone.

Game Save is HERE!

Well the only nice thing of Stoke's season start is that we have already played Arsenal and City...
