SD Eibar Se Elevará

I have noticed an issue that may arise that I wanted to throw out to people, I believe that to host a Champions League match you must have a minimum of a Category 4 stadium, which must have a minimum seated capacity of 8,000, I have had a look and Eibar's maximum potential capacity on our current site is 7,000, does this mean without buying a entire new stadium, I cannot play in the Champions League??

hmm, I'm not sure how that would work! I'd imagine the board would agree to expand the stadium if their was a reason though!

I dunno, we can only expand to a maximum of 7k anyway which still wouldn't be enough. If we did qualify for CL then we would only have 3 or 4 months max to build a whole new stadium and be ready for the next season. I didn't know if maybe they make you play in a neighbouring teams stadium?

Cheers matey, much appreciated. Its definitely a challenge but its keeping me gripped! Well before I started this story I had a few other ideas, maybe you could give Mechelen FC a go, a Belgium side that once won the Cup Winners Cup in the 80's, now in the lower leagues.. thought it sounded like a great challenge

First Eleven

Another hectic couple of months over and the new La Liga campaign is nearly under way. After covering every angle in the transfer market and working hard on the training pitch, my assistant and I feel we have compiled a rough idea of this seasons ‘starting’ eleven, although yet again this is not set in stone, these will certainly be the guys to walk out onto the pitch in our first match (injuries permitted)..

Shock Transfer Request

So a week before the beginning of the new season our club captain and first choice goalkeeper Xabi Irureta walks into my office and requests a transfer to Real Madrid completely out of the blue and no matter what I said, he wouldn't change his mind. With very little in left in the budget and Jug not really up to standard, I am going to have to put all my efforts into looking for a replacement.​

I think, as has been mentioned, that you would play Champions League games at a neighbouring stadium, until you build a new stadium. Sure I've seen it with another club, but don't hold me to it.

I thought that may be the case, we need to hurry up and start investing, at this rate we are developing to quickly on the pitch for us to keep up off of it.

August

So my month started off badly with the bombshell dropped on me by the club captain Irureta, it turns out that Real Madrid have already signed a new 3rd choice keeper and have no interest in him any more, I offered him to them anyway to show I am not keeping him against his will and they shunned my offer. He is now feeling unsettled at the club as he feels he wants to pick up a winners medal before its too late, maybe he should have a little more faith in the great work we are doing here at the Ipurua. I have a good mind to strip him of his captaincy for the lack of commitment he is showing but I don't want to unsettle the rest of the team.

We have been handed a very tough group, each of our opposition are difficult but I know we can be competitive. I am going to set us an ambitious target of 10 points, based on the mathematics and previous years, that should see us through. What ever happens the board don't care, their just happy to finally be out of the country.

That’s the way to kick of our new season, great opening day win in our first Basque derby of the campaign. Great defensive work, we held the ball well in possession, we had plenty of shots, albeit mostly off target and most importantly we won the game in a professional manner. Down side being the amount of fouls, this has crept into our game over the past 6 months or so and it seems a tough habit to break.

What can I say.. 2 injuries, another red card, our on-loan top scorer from last season scores against us, with all of that we dominate possession and shots, we have the man of the match in Suarez and we still lose. This one is going down as a bad day in the office and we start again fresh on the training ground. I will stamp out this poor discipline on the pitch!

No worries, I have had a save with Eibar in a past FM and got hooked on them too. I think most go through the motions with FM, but like you, on my story I'm surprisingly hooked too. Keep up the great work. :D

This was a tight game that on the balance I feel we should have won. Yet again our discipline is letting us down, it seems that no matter what I do, my players seem insistent on giving away fouls and getting cards.


Werder Bremen Vs SD Eibar

This was a good result on our first ever venture into Europe, really proud of the boys. Going into the game Bremen were easy favourites at their own ground and I think a point is a great result.

Yet another game where we have the better share of all stats and we still come out worse off. Yet again the discipline on show is poor, every time the opposition get into our box I am scared we will give away a penalty. The only saving grace is that Valencia are a good side.


Rayo Vallecano Vs SD Eibar

I was very relieved after this match, at the fear of sounding like a broken record, our discipline is still terrible with 23 fouls and 3 cards again. We didn't have as much possession but we created plenty of chances and at the end of the day I think 3 points is a fair result


Malaga Vs SD Eibar

With Malaga sitting bottom of the table and just 1 point on the board we were favourites going into this game. When I saw that Sergi Enrich was in their team though I had a bad feeling and of course it would be he who would break the dead lock. We gave away a penalty for their second and from then on we thought valiantly but it was already over as the remainder of this match seemed to be spent in the middle of the park.

Poor performance, Kiev pretty much had the best of us throughout. I have already started to notice how much the fixture congestion of playing in Europe is really hampering our fitness, I am already finding I am having to rotate a few players at this early stage, worrying signs.

Not a great start to our campaign, I am very disappointed with our league form and I am worried that our team isn't strong enough for the demands of both domestic and continental football. I know its early on but I am also starting to worry that the signings I have made this season are not going to adapt as well as players I have brought in previously, we are missing the likes of Bacuna, Deulofeu, Enrich and Moreno this year. All I can do is keep trying my best and hope things improve.

His stats look quite poor, he hasn't had much game time in the past 2 seasons. Hopefully I can help him find some form
