Well with 1 game to go we find ourselves top of the league and face a tricky trip to Reading in the final game, meanwhile Norwich (currently second) face a home game against already relegated Derby County.
Only a win will do for us to secure the league title ... i have no confidence in Derby doing us a favour as they've been dreadful all season!
Team news:
Sheffield united remain unchanged after seeing off Yorkshire rivals Leeds 5-0. Reading meanwhile have come to frustrate the Blades, playing 5 in midfield and just Pogrebnyak on his own up front.

Half time and the score remains at 0-0, a really boring game with no chances created by either team, this is a very off performance from the Blades who have score 97 goals before today.
Minute 59: Reading take the lead through Jordon Obika. A cross comes in from the right wing and Obika beats John Brayford in the air to take the lead.
Hopefully this will bring the best out of UTD who have so far offered nothing. They immediatly bring on Lewis Grabban to try and get back in the game.
Minute 65: Obika strikes again to make it Reading 2-0! The goal comes from a counter attack following an enourmous amount of pressure created by the Blades. This should put the game to bed.
Minute 90: The final wistle blows and the match finishes Reading 2-0 Sheffield United.
This defeat hands over the title to Norwich who comfortably beat Derby.

So that brings an end to a very pleasing season (minus the reading result) as finally secure promotion to the Premier League!! As this brings an end to the season, its time to look at the stats and awards for this season:

Not only have we the best defence in the league but also finish as top scorers as well with 97, 5 more than Norwich in second place.
This just makes it even more dissapointing that we couldnt win the league as we had the best defence and the best attack, and finished the season with a goal difference 13 better than Norwich.
Average rating:

We can also boast to have the three best players in the league based on their average rating. Michael Kean finished first with a rating of 7.54, Chris Eagles comes second recording an average of 7.39 and Danny Wilson completes the top 3 with an average of 7.36.
We can also boast three more players, Mehdi Abeid, Gary Mackay-Stevens and Adam Le Fondre, all being in the top 10! Mehdi Abeid comes 8th with an average of 7.26, Makay-Stevens and Le Fondre both finish joint 10th with ratings of 7.24.
Top goalscorers:

Adam Le Fondre unsuprisingly wins this award hands down. Le Fondre finishes with 39 goals in 46 games, 10 in front of Ambrose in second place. After losing this award last year by 1 goal he really made up for it this time around.
Abeid wins fans player of the year:

For the third straight season, Abeid wins fans player of the year award. Abeid won the award fairly confortably with Keane and Eagles coming second and third.
Once again im a little suprised by this award as i would have said Keane, Wilson, Eagles and Le Fondre have all had better seasons. One things for sure anyway is that Abeid is definatley a fans favourite.
Team of the year:

Sheffield united have supplied 3 players in the team of the year as well as supplying Chris Eagles who also made the bench. Michael Keane and Danny Wilson make the side as the central defensive partnership. And Adam Le Fondre obvioulsy made the fist eleven up front.
Player of the year:

Again, quite suprisingly, Chris Eagles wins the player of the year award! Eagles had a great season, scoring 14 and making an increadable 17 assists from only 34 games. This award really makes a mokery of the Team of the Year where he only made the bench!
I say this award is quite suprising as both Keane and Wilson had better average ratings and i actually thought Le Fondre would win this award purley for his goals.
Beattie wins manager of the year:
