Aw, that's a shame!
Can't wait untill you're managing Utd!

Any chance of this story continuing? Having just made it to the first division with East Stirlingshire I'd be very interested (y) :)

The exact same thing happened again as below

So I decided to take a break from the save because I really didn't want to play the same 7 matched for a THIRD time. Anyway, now I've forgot the results of my previous two attempts at finishing this season I will load it up and get in finished once and for all.

Stay tuned.

Season Five – Aberdeen – Scottish Premier League

After last season dramatic upturn in fortunes following my appointment big things were expected this year, my first full season in charge of Aberdeen. Turning Aberdeen from relegation certainties to Europa League qualifiers in half a season was a fantastic achievement, but one we mustn’t rest on. Some key signings and a bit of luck and challenging the Old Firm may be more realistic than some may think.

Key Signings

Jordan Lunan (DR)
Loan from Tottenham

View attachment 215941

Only 19 but bags of potential. Lightning fast and as comfortable attacking as he is defending.

Julian Leclerc (DM)
Free from Lyon

View attachment 215942

A great coup. Big, strong and athletic. Will be quite the presence in midfield.

Manny Smith (DRC)
£75k from Bristol Rovers

View attachment 215943

Centre half was possibly our biggest weakness last year. Manny can certainly plug that gap and will be a threat from set pieces as well.

Marco Borriello (ST)
Free from Palermo

View attachment 215948

Even at 33 years of age, Marco still possesses the talent to succeed in the SPL. A gamble financially but one worth taking if he can get us goals.

Muhamed Hasanbegovic (DCR)
Free from FC Midtjylland

View attachment 215949

Another free transfer with bags of potential. Surprised he was released but it’s definitely to Aberdeen’s benefit.

Riccardo Venturini (AMLR)
Free from Inter Milan

View attachment 215950

Couldn’t cut it at Inter. Should have no problem cutting it here.

Perhaps the best bit of business we did in the summer was holding onto Paul McAusland. This extremely talented 17year old was wanted by everyone it seemed. But he remained loyal to Aberdeen and he’ll figure predominately this year, no doubt about that.

BURNing down the house!

Just after the win at Parkhead Premier League side Burnley came calling looking my services. As always its an honour being linked with clubs - especially clubs with £17,250,000 to spend!! However, Manchester United is the only club I will leave Aberdeen for.

Klinsmann wants Ferguson.

A very strange offer for my services but again declined. Fergie did manage Scotland for a short time so I will consider that position but not the Yanks, and certainly not the Under 23s.

SPL 2015/16

View attachment 215957

Well we finished 3rd again, which I suppose is the best we could have hoped for this season in all honesty. 10 points off the champions Rangers and 4 off Celtic but a massive 20 points ahead of 4th place shows that we are definitely an emerging force in the SPL.

However, I must say I was disappointed to only reach the quarter-finals of both domestic cups as I felt we do possess a squad strong enough to win a few cups. Even more of a disappointment was not qualifying for the Europa League group stages. The financial benefits alone would have brought us a step closer to the Old Firm. However, the fewer fixtures did enable us to muster up a solid 79points this year.

The big guns of the English Premier League wanted him last summer. I fear they may be back

Versus the Old Firm

Our record of...
1W 3D 2L

...against the top isn’t too bad but we’ll have to turn some of them draws into wins if we want to break their stranglehold on Scottish football.

On a sad note, my former club East Stirlingshire got relegated this year. Hopefully they regroup and bounce back and I’d hate to see them tumble back down the divisions after all the hard work it took to get them to the SPL.

good work. unlucky with the EURO Cup but that's alright. looking forward to what's next

Are you going to try and keep Mcausland or seriously consider selling him? I think maybe a season or 2 more if you can keep him and he will be worth a great deal more.

I'll keep him until he starts to complain or becomes unsettled. Someone will have to part with a few million pounds for me to sell him currently. The more good players I have the sooner I'll get the United job I reckon

Awesome story, when will you post your next season?

You need to blame the referees more, for realism

Ok folks, after an extended break I'm goona resume this save over the next day or two. Hope u'll continue to follow
