Bath City update 2

Got season 1 finished with 4-3-3 Sublimity, the version with CM roles - didn't secure straight promotion, but still got play offs as an oppertunity

Leauge table:

Marked that matches which i think "killed" my straight promotion

View attachment 129221

My main problem in these games was attackers there didn't hit the goal too well, but more important not matter how much I worked on my CDs mood and contribution, they came up with 5.5 to 6.7 performances in all those matches, but well maybe they was too happy with the leauge performance at that point - Bath City is predicted 18th in the leauge and only talent brought to the club I can't really complain. I just hope that if I win promotion through play offs, the club goes pro, as semi pro can be a real pain in the rear side ;)

I don't know if you flip a coin, but I do think you'll go pro if you reach the league 2 stages

I have the same issue with peacebreaker.
Both my CM's and IF's waste too many chances, even when i set roles to lay off the glory shots.

So I didn't get promotion, lost the first play off matches after extra time in second match, so second season in Vanarama South is closeing in, time to hopefully strengthen the squad a bit, maybe with an experienced CD to get the defence a bit more stable.

@Jes, yeah I think Leauge 2 is the point where a Pro club is possible.

@rambo99jose, well havn't tried peacebreak in LLM yet, only played it with Tottenham and didn't find it too wastefull there.

2nd Season done with Bath City

Second season done with Bath City, no promotion again, even had to fight hard to achieve 2nd place this season, kinda the same problems as last season, with a defence being unconsistent - got the best 2 tackling CDs in my division. Maybe 3rd time lucky works here, got a couple of talents with a 100-110 PA i'm planning to unleash on my first team, and of course i'm looking for better players all the time.

I wonder if dropping the D-line a bit lower would help, or that it would kill the assists from the backs completely and make an exploidable space between the defence and the midfield

All Training Go Here

The new changes

Tempo=MAX I wanna tire the opponent

Width=Balanced seems like the perfect appproach

9 Roles -
Changed them to fit my players - I wanted to see if this would optimize the players performance - I have obvious talent in my side with close to 3 Complete forwards - not easy to get on lower levels if possible at all so....

CF's - you could change to Poacher - Poachers are scoring maniacs in this game so would be a good alternative if you don't have Complete strikers - Training complete forward

The left central defender is a ballplaying one but could be changed to a normal central defender - The right central defender could be changed to a limited defender on cover if he's less talented - Training Ball playing or Central defence

WB's - seems like the perfect back role in the sides - always performs at a high level - so a small optimization from the complete wingback which is also very strong - the WB shouldn't be changed. Training Complete wing back

The Midfield - Could be changed to CM auto or CM support and CM attack - however I don't find that you will have any problems in getting good DLP's or AP's for that matter. Training central midfield advanced playmaker on all 3 (thank you TFF) - alternatively Roaming PM schedule.

Ofcourse I don't have to tell you fluidity is everything - results change dramatically negative or positive when fluidity is 100% - morale is extremely important so winning football matches will be the decider for future success - but also winning football matches with high margins will certainly give that killer boost you'll need to be consistant - their will probably be periods where you'll be less lucky with the results - I can just tell you to keep grinding your teeth and stick with it - be patient.

Alot of new signings made for your team - in your opinion high quality - give them a year and don't estimate their performance before they have adapted to your country and language spoken.

Utilize the exellent post made a few pages back about youth & profit.

Guys I need to see the handball final in the olympics for men so - cheers to you all

Stay cool!!

Training for the new version in season is balanced average att movement? thank's

I wonder if dropping the D-line a bit lower would help, or that it would kill the assists from the backs completely and make an exploidable space between the defence and the midfield

Sorry to hear that pal - Sublimity is not set up for an underdog team though some might think it is - the passing itsself should give people the hint its mixed and what do you need more than anything with mixed passing - decisions - players that can make good decisions are preferred and will pull off passes whether its good to play the ball shorter or longer.

So becourse of this I decided to edit the Sublimity system a little bit and its maybe more safe to use than the original for a lesser team. I decided to change the aggressive wingbacks to fullbacks and I even decided to have them in a defensive duty as that is often the biggest problem in fm16 the wide areas not covered well enough - I reckon this will help some. I also include some specific oi's that actually makes sense - the closing down of the central midfielders the cam and the GK - the midfielder are the ones that make all the other players dangerous and goalie you want to stress as much as you can to making a mistake or throwing the ball away. The wide men of the opps you tight mark. I want some players forward thinking in their passes so they get a direct passing option in the tactic below 5 players are set to direct and 5 players are set to short passing if you feel the 2 cm's are to direct change them to short. I don't have time to test these, but I think you'll notice the difference at your level. Oh and if you are worried about crosses - the false 9's also do crosses - you just can't edit that :) - if the fb's crosses totally suck then change the ti early crosses to nothing.

I don't want the D-line discussion - cause I think people are wrong the way they apply it :)

Tell me how you go mate - cheers to you

OI's - ###Very Important###

Don't be sorry mate, I'm the one who challenged a small semi-pro, broke, low rep club with a tactic there wasn't aimed at LLM, but still getting to play offs in my first 2 seasons with a team predicted to be 18th in first season and around 10th in the second season isn't bad at all, with the fact in mind that the tactic isn't suited for LLM games/teams, I gotta admit it can be fun to play FM without winning everything all the time, it kinda forces the player to think a bit more to improve which is one of the reasons why I do LLM saves :)

Yeah I noticed the CWB to FB changes which might help, look through stats i found that the tactics i'm weakest against with the original 4-3-3 is the 4-4-2 formation and crosses. Hopefully the FBs keeps crossing, had +20 assists on both CWBs, but as long as the rest of the team assists and scores, the FBs can make 0 assists if they keep the defensive part of the team working well :)

So far i've only tested in preseason matches, but it seems to be better, lost one match though but i knew I would as I choose a bigger opponent at home to make some nice pounds for a poor club, my main idea behind is to see how it will affect the team with one or 2 bigger clubs in between the minnows to make both money and morale improvements. On a side note the game I lost was against Crystal Palace with most of the best players playing, final result a 4-1 loss and 25.000 £ earned :)

Jesaustralia do you think this tactic would do well with 1target man st + 2 complete forward instead of 3 cf?
I think that could be interesting to try and I wonder what else would you change in the tactic to perform better with a target man.

I think that could be interesting to try and I wonder what else would you change in the tactic to perform better with a target man.

That was my 1st idea too using a targetman in the middle - I wanted someone 10 meter wide weighing above 100 kilos and 10 meter tall :) however my vision was to have someone in the box that could act like Giroud - or as I have mentioned before the old school Oliver Bierhoff - Anyway I thought that was a great soulution - but when I started to play with it - I disliked it - I really like the advanced forward in the middle - I reckon it could also be changed to a poacher - Targetmen isn't good for some reason I don't like how it looks.

Complete forward - thats someone who's better than the common striker - its someone who has more attributes than someone who is a specialist - Its the best strikers their is - but if you dont have it don't use it - I just wanted to establish that - but for this tactic to be efficient it might need the F9's or the 2 outer strikers to act like f9's like Sublimity from the front page - it seems like a very dangerous combination to have 2 strikers who is movement specialists - They simply make the opponent defence nervous with their movements.

So the way I would categorize strikers when choosing them look below

1st category - 4 choices

Complete forward (if you have a good enough striker - use the role its above anything in this category, but use it on attack in sublimity and as the centre striker) - the CF is the best role you can choose out of advanced forward - poacher and CF - but the complete forward should be on attack duty.

Advanced forward or Deep laying forward (the diametrical of the two) - Staying forward or going back to support the midfield (choose what fits best)

Poacher (A fairly simple striker that don't do much - but he scores - don't underestimate this role) further I would like to add this might be the striker role you want in the middle - but as static as possible - not moving around to much - high anticipation and high composure high first touch and high finishing - offball should be high too.

2nd category

False 9 - If you want someone creating space for your other striker/s - I feel their is noone better at doing that particular job - so if you need a striker like that go for an F9

Trequartista - as I already have stated in the this is the end thread - this role reminds me of the poacher role of fm13 set with specific sliders - so is the closest I can get to simulate that role from that game - its still not perfect. The trequartista also creates quite the havoc in the opposition defence by his roaming and using his creativity, but this player is much more attacking than the false 9 and has nothing to with a false 9 at all - the trequartista operates up front roaming between the striker strata and the cam strata (annoying player for the oppositions) - can easily create incohesion in the opponents defence if marked. If forgetting about fm13 and reminding yourself of the role based game of fm16 - this role is highly demanding and should only be used if you have a beast trequartista - high decisions - visions - dribbling - acceleration - if he does direct passes then high passing in case of him being further back and can make a longer pass to the advanced forward or complete forward up front - longshots - technique - first touch - offball - composure and anticipation - pace can be average.

The Defensive Forward - When do people ever use it? :) - well the creators almost might as well take this one out or rename it to something more exotic - the word defensive seems to put people of using it - though this role is not just defensive - its a cautious player and his goal is to pressure the opponent defence which leads to mistakes throwing the ball away with a clearance - I reckon this role would be highly efficient if you used a very dominant tactic, but it surely demands that. Aggression - strenght - workrate - teamwork - acceleration coupled with striker attributes - can make this sort of striker a pain the *** :) - You think this striker won't score any goals? guess what wrong!!! - but it would probably be a waste of resources using him in a flat 442 - prove me wrong :)

So mate to answer your question - though I have created tweaks for different tactics using the same roles up front I don't recommend it - in sublimity only 1 complete forward is in the cards in my opinion and that's the centre striker if you have one with that many skills. I don't like the actions of the targetmen - I can't find myself being creative using that role for anything - I sure hope someone can though. The box striker that I think you want in this setup can either be - Complete forward on attack duty - advanced forward or poacher - with that in mind you just need to define the skills of the striker - my immediate thought is Luis Henrique for some reason :) - a striker that has acceleration - jumping reach - anticipation - heading - strenght - finishing - decisions - offball would most likely go well with one of the three roles mentioned and will act as a BOX STRIKER

A change of the two outer strikers the f9's could also be interesting to see how they would perform in different roles - i'm thinking defensive forwards on support duty or trequartista's specifically.

Hope you find this little piece useful - cheers mate and good day to you

I want to use Iniesta (Suarez), Rakitic (Gomes) and Busquets (Mascherano) on the midfield.
Can i use
Iniesta (Suarez) on AP and Rakitic (Gomes) and Busquets (Mascherano) on DLP or do you recommend a different combination?

Suarez can only play one position - that is anywhere up front - I know he's accomplished as a cam but why on earth would you waste the best striker in the game as a cam that doesn't even exist in sublimity. Iniesta is a great AP so is rakitic, but he can do several things they are all good at dlp roles or cm auto roles - Macherano is for me a fantastic defender and doesn't fit the midfield the way its suppose to be - so I can only recommend either sell macherano or use him as a defender.

Yes I recommend sublimity from the 1st page not any edits as they are more like experiments to me.

Can you just clear one thing up for me about this tactic please ! do we or do we not use the opening post OI's as shown ?

No you dont have to! But just a thought if anyone else was using any different OI's thanks for your reply though !

Bath City Update - 4-3-3 U-dog

Got half a season played so far with the 4-3-3 U-dog version, so far it isn't going too well, as the screens will show, but one thing i've noticed with this version i'm missing my main assisters, being the FBs, maybe auto instead of Def will even it out at bit or maybe my team is just too crappy:P

Team:

As I mentioned before, i'm really missing the assists the CWBs made which can be seen on my team screen - fewer assists and goal than usual, but i'm gonna play the full season before I say too much more about this version, as things can change to the better in the rest of the season.

One thing I playing with in my head.... what would happen if I mixed 4-3-3 sublimity (without mixed passing) and 4-3-3 U-dog and some of the stuff from that tactic - time for some thinking i guess xD

Edit:
what baffles me is that i can beat promotion contenders, but against teams around and below me I loose, no matter how much i try to motivate and keep the team happy.
Maybe I should play with U21 plaers only xD
