Been a good game so far as gor the half time shoe BEP shouldn't do live was rather on off. Sound was off but would give my right arm to have a go on fergie

Prefer Baseball tbh, nevertheless I am watching it just because I am generally just a sports fan. C'mon Stealers!

I have to say, I find baseball so boring, nearly fell asleep in Yankee stadium once.

As the only one whos supporting the Packers in this thread do i get to gloat?

Wouldnt do it just yet tbh. Charles Woodson loss could hurt. And don't know when Driver is coming back from his ankle problem. But if they keep what they did in the first half, and keep pressuring Ben, its looking good. However, there could be a special play from special teams, or a trick play from a coach that could change the whole game

Last year, only the champions league final had more viewers than the superbowl (think thats what they said yesterday anyway) most profitable sport in the world iirc.

Aye, but how many viewers of those were worldwide? Biggest spectacle in America, without a doubt. Biggest spectacle in the world? ...nah.

When are NFL games usually on? i know they get played on ESPN and isnt this the end of the season?

Lol at the audio guy who just got taken out.

But football is so simple! 22 people, two goals, don't go outside lines, stick ball in goal. Of course, there are offsides, but that's about it in terms of complexity.

There's tactics in football, rugby, cycling and so on and so forth, they don't need a thirty second rest after running five yards.

Hm. Fair enough, I guess specialisation evolves as games do.

Woodson out. Shields will be back. Woodson's meant to be good, right?

I know, soccer is incredibly simple, however most Americans grow up on complicated Baseball and football, they expect soccer to be difficult and they completely over analyze the game. For example, corner kicks confuse the **** out of us, the ball goes out of play, so you kick it from all the way over there?

And play calling is different from tactics. In soccer you'll instruct your players to play a certain way, and your players know how to make runs at the right times etc... but it's usually not predetermined that player X goes to a certain spot as Player Y runs over there. The play calling can be quite complicated, with every man having a specific task that is meant to counter whatever the opposing players "may" do. They don't just get the ball and ad-lib with the general idea of moving the ball, they call a play and run the play as designed.

The 30 seconds rest isn't for the players btw, it's for the playcallers on the sidelines to get in substitutions and choose a play in order to exploit what they are seeing the other team do. Some teams, especially in collegiate football will actually play "Hurry up" which only uses less than 10 seconds in order to wear out the other team and prevent them from calling effective plays.

and yes Deon Sanders for a while played WR and DB as well as kick and punt returner, near the end of his career he only played DB and kick returner.

Also signed up by the Yankees in 89. Quite an athlete
