A tough opening game to the season, away to Spurs, Chadli and Capoue start on their return to their previous club. An extremely lucky victory here, as we get absolutely slaughtered by Spurs, Rascaldani scored a beautiful chip.

View attachment 454827View attachment 454826
Our Europa League season starts, we can put ourselves in a commanding position for the second leg, with a big win here. We complete a solid 3-0 win, Jamie, Allen and Johnson, score their first goals for the club, as we dominate, with an incredible 72% possession.

View attachment 454825View attachment 454824
Another difficult league game, as we face City at the Liberty. We played well first half and went a goal up, at half time from Chadli, unfortunately it was a difficult second half though, as City come back with a goal and plenty more. Overall that's a good point and we did well to withstand the pressure.

View attachment 454823View attachment 454822
Rascaldani scores in a pretty standard game, not much going on, as we dominate the game and win 1-0, 4-0 on aggregate, sees us qualify with ease for the group stages of the competition.

View attachment 454821View attachment 454820
The groups were drawn, and apart from Lyon, it should be an easy group, I expect us to cruise through to the last 16, just like last year.

View attachment 454819
Birmingham got promoted, and we play them next, Rascaldani continued his great form with another goal, as we dominated the first half. Some complacent play in the second half from the lads, let The Blues back in, but we showed great character to get back in front, Tom Ince with the goal.

View attachment 454817View attachment 454818
Taylor had a very high average match rating, as usual, but I've gone for Rascaldani for my player of the month. I was expecting him to take some time to settle in and that would leave me over reliant on Vazquez, but he earned his chance to start the first game against Spurs, with a great pre season, and has delivered ever since, with three goals and one assist in four starts, hopefully his great form continues.

View attachment 454816
A good month and start to the season for the lads, hopefully this can be a big season for the lads. Next time we kick off our Capital One Cup campaign, see if our good league form can continue and test the water in our Europa League group.

So I've changed the format of my posts, It started to feel like a grind writing match reports, taking away from the fun of playing the game. I've gone for simple match information and who scored for most matches. I'll be sure to add line ups, match stats and match overviews on big games, like finals. Be sure to let me know what you think in a reply, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Nobody really stayed consistent in every game this month, Shelvey scored two in four starts, but Rescaldani scored three in four starts. Despite poor games against Forest and Southampton, I'm going for this lad for the second month running, he's keeping Vazquez on the bench, and has started this season very well.

View attachment 454380
View attachment 454382
A very solid month for the lads as we win all four games, advance to the fourth round of the Capital One Cup, to face a difficult away trip to Chelsea, and sit a very tidy third place in the league, if we win our game in hand we can go second. Next time, we play some big games in the league against Liverpool and Cardiff, and get a real perspective, on who the contenders are, in our Europa League group.

Tom Ince had a fantastic month for the Swans, with three goals, two assists, starting all six games for the club. It's great to see him doing well, and after that lengthy injury, he's starting to pick his pace back up, showing great signs of progression in training.

A very very nice month for the team, as we win all six games, with some very important victories against Liverpool and Cardiff, I was also impressed with the clinical finishing, the lads showed in their impressive 7-2 away win over BATE, that puts us in a commanding position in our Europa League group. Next time, after Swansea have incredibly surprised the world, sitting in first place in the league, they face some real tests. Raining champions Man United, Arsenal, who have started the season poorly and Chelsea, we should also see the Swans wrap up their Europa League group.

So the training facilities upgrade, finished this month. If there's one problem I'm having with this club it's this, the training facilities were at 2.5 stars out of 5 and before this upgrade, now they're only 3 stars, I think that's why some of my players in their late and mid twenties, have decreased in their attributes, I know it's very unrealistic. Hopefully if we can continue our great league form, and win a league title, or get to the late stages of the Champions League, next season, the board will take the rise of Swansea seriously, and give the training facilities a real upgrade! I asked them to upgrade again straight away, they agreed, again a one year project.

Vazquez has started to keep Rescaldani out of the team now, with four goals, and one assist, in four starts, he's kicked in to some form for the first time this season, and he get's my vote, for player of the month.

Another good month for the lads, I was particularly impressed with the two Chelsea results, The result against
United was a little disappointing, given our great start to the season, that loss was the first of the season, but I guess they're the best team in the league, well at least on this save. Next time, the fixture schedule gets real, with eight games in the month, and another tough Capital One Cup tie.

Liverpool wants me? You won't usually hear me say this, but I turned down my club, for the progression of this story. I hope to win plenty of trophies with Swansea, and continue this story for a few more seasons at least. It seems Liverpool have an obsession with Swansea managers, after taking Brendan Rodgers, and failing in their approach to sign me, they switched their attention to Micheal Laudrup, who now signs for Liverpool.

I'm a man in demand, after sacking Alan Pardew, two weeks after being offered the Liverpool job, Newcastle now offer me the manager role, I swiftly declined, moving on for much the same reasons that I declined the Liverpool job. Lee Clark takes over, from Birmingham, who will now be looking for a new manager.

We progress through our Europa League group, with a perfect record, six wins out of six, after an impressive away win against Lyon. Unfortunately the draw was against us again, an even tougher draw after last year, PSG will be a very difficult ask, but we're having one **** of a season so far, Arsenal or Sporting await, if we get through.

There wasn't anyone who really turned up every game they played, but Chadli grabbed two goals, two assists, in five starts, so with an average rating of 7.28, he get's player of the month for December.

View attachment 452531
The league table looks great for Swansea, sitting in a very nice second place, United are looking unstoppable at the top, but if we win our game in hand, we'll be within a point of them. A more realistic target, would be achieving a top four finish, and the Europa League, well it will take something extremely special to beat PSG.

A really good month for the lads, bar a disappointing slip up to Everton at home, it was a great month, taking maximum points from all other matches. The Tottenham result in the Capital One Cup was my highlight of the month. Unfortunately United could yet again, deny us plenty more silverware this year, as we play them three times next month, drawing them in both the Capital One Cup and the FA Cup, we played more games in the league and surely we must beat United to some silverware this year.

After Lee Clark left for Newcastle, Birmingham needed a new manager, so Gary Bowyer takes over.

Brilliant performances, and results to match against the not so mighty Man United. They underestimated me in all three games, playing a weakened team, that draw and two defeats, has hit their confidence, they're dropping points in the league, and we're taking full advantage, we're now top of the table! Arsenal await in a tough Capital One Cup final at Wembley.

There were players who played well but struggled consistently over the month, Chadli, Capoue and Jaime fit that mould. I've gone for Strandberg, as my player of the month, he's been really consistent this month, with an average rating of roughly 7.4, one assist in six starts.

As you can see by the league table, we knocked Man United off their stride, they took only five points from five games in the league this month, we took ten points from four games. One point ahead with two games in hand, is looking great, but there's still plenty of games to be played, we haven't won it yet.

View attachment 452105
Apart from another slip up towards the end of the month, this time against Newcastle, it's been a brilliant month for the team, putting Man United out of both the FA Cup and the Capital One Cup is a great achievement. Next time the fixture list throws us one **** of a curve ball, with two games in two days, so do we go for the league or the FA Cup? Our Europa League tie against PSG is coming, if we can beat Man United twice, surely we can beat PSG?

My forgetful brain was at it again, I forgot to post the transfers for January, in the last post. Not a whole lot happened, Lewicki and Wallace depart after we've signed better players, we made a healthy profit on Wallace, Sheehan is a poor youngster, who demanded a loan. There were no transfers in, but we did bring a few loaned out players back, not including the two players who left, Cirigliano, Bennett and Kuciak all came back. I think I've come to the conclusion that yet again, the loan system is very unreliable, just like last years game.

Davies had some consistent high ratings this month, as he's really hitting some great form, But I've gone for the big man up front. Rescaldani bagged four goals and two assists in six starts this month, he's having a great first season, and he's this months, player of the month.
View attachment 451619
United keep pace in the league, but we can still win it, it seems we played a lot of the big teams at home in the first half of the season. Chelsea, Man United, Man City and Everton all await in very tough away games, with the busy fixture list, it's still going to be difficult to win the league.

Yet again it's been a really great month for the lads, we won the games we needed to, and I can't really complain about away draws to PSG and Liverpool, I was gobsmacked by the PSG result, absolutely brilliant from the lads! Next time we play Arsenal, surely setting a record, as we play them four games in a row, and five times across the month. There's no easy games next month as we also play, Chelsea and Man United away, but can we win or first trophy with the Swans?

Have you asked for a youth/training facilities upgrade, yet?? If you make it to the champions league, that would be the first thing I ask...

Solid month mate! keep up the good work and the league will be yours! teams looking good and looks like you will be getting real familiar with arsenal this month haha :)

LOL drawning Arsenal in all tournaments? What are the odds?! :P

I asked them to upgrade again straight away, they agreed, again a one year project.

The next upgrade will be finished on the 15th of October, this year in the game. I'm not to fussed about the youth facilities, If I have any good youngsters I'll let them train with the senior squad, as the facilities are always better. I'll be sure to ask for another upgrade once the next one has been finished, like I said, Hopefully if we can continue our great league form, and win a league title, or get to the late stages of the Champions League, next season, the board will take the rise of Swansea seriously, and give the training facilities a real upgrade! So news on that front, is looking great!

Thanks mate, It's going to be tough, but if we keep winning games, we can win it! I couldn't believe that fixture list against Arsenal!

Thanks for all the feedback guys, really appreciate the support, the replys to my posts had started to dry up the last week, it's great to see people are still interested in the story! They'll be a post up later today.

The biggest game of the season, The Capital One Cup Final against Arsenal. We started great with an early Shelvey goal, Tom Ince finished the game off late on, Arsenal really didn't offer much of a threat, and for the occasion at least, they were disappointing. I'm very happy to win my first trophy with Swansea, it's not the biggest trophy, but hopefully it will be the first of many.

After just about seeing off Arsenal, in a extremely close game. I was happy with the draw this time, and actually the teams left in the competition, don't worry me particularly, we've certainly knocked out bigger teams. We've still got to turn up though, Besiktas await in the Quarter Finals.

Nobody performed consistently this month, despite some really good results, I've gone for Tom Ince, as player of the month. He scored three goals in seven starts, I almost don't want to give him this award, because in the games he didn't score, he was really poor, but then again he scored some very important goals against Arsenal.

View attachment 451159
Despite them loses to Chelsea and Man United, we can still win the league, if we win both of our games in hand, we'll be one point ahead of United, but it's fair to say I would prefer to have the points on the board at this stage of the season, with the fixtures coming thick and fast. We're still in with a chance, but it's going to be hard.

View attachment 451163
The month of March, started brilliantly as we lifted our first trophy with Swansea, the Capital One Cup, that momentum continued as we register an important league win against Arsenal, and go on to knock them out of the FA Cup. Our record breaking unbeaten run of twenty eight games was put to an end by Chelsea, we bounce backed to ruin Arsenals season some more, knocking them out of Europe, before United beat us taking a massive step towards winning the league title. Overall I'm a little disappointed, as we lose two games, but they were two tough games, and it was difficult to take points in them.

View attachment 451162
Next time we play Besiktas in Europe, a team we really should be beating, but we'll see how it goes. We'll have to be taking almost maximum points to win the league title this season, and our best chance of winning another trophy this year, will come in the FA Cup with Stoke and Aston Villa playing in the other Semi final, as we face West Brom at Wembley.
