Tactics & Training: The " I have a small question " thread

You can find out here.

If you mean playing 3 CM's
Its like a mix between defensive and offensive football, which not many teams enjoy. Your width is going to come from your FB's, making you prone to the counter from wide teams. Its more a possession based tactic, being heavy in the centre of midfield, and most teams look to either attack, or defend and hit on the counter, rather than sit with the ball in the middle of the park, waiting for that lucky break.

No mate I mean with a DM,then 3 attacking mid : an AMC ,both AMR and AML as inside forwards and 2 upfront

In that case, your leaving a big gap in the middle of the pitch, an AMC always looks to get forward more, as do wingers, and strikers naturally are even further forward still, your DMC will drop deeper, leaving a big 'gap' of players in the middle, allowing the opposition team to easily retain possession.

Is there a recognised format/procedure to release a tactic to the public?

I mean, having looked at the other "xyz tactic here" threads they all seem to be pretty detailed and with lots of screen-shots, testing and feedback, etc.

If I were to release my tactic, would I be expected to provide as much detail and arrange for 'testing' before release?

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I've never thought about releasing my tactics to the public before but am so happy with my current version that I *think* others could benefit from it.

So is there a template/recognised format for it?

N.B. I'm asking with the intention of public release but am not 100% sure that I will do. Do not PM me asking for the tactic as I will just ignore them...

Honestly, you don't need any of that stuff, but people will only ask for it, many may completely ignore a tactic that has no proof that it works, how it works.

I dont think theres a template or anything, but maybe go for:

Screenshot of the formation on tactics screen, with players in positions.
Screenshot of 3/4 games of tactic in use, showing the match statistics.
If a player is playing particularly well, show this with screenshots
Final league position screenshots

Then inform people of:
Any tweaks you make
Any shouts/touchline instructions
Any suggested players/player stats for the positions
Possibly the 'philosophy' of the tactic.

Feedback will come as people use your tactic, as will many questions about how you would go about things in certain circumstances.

Hope this helps :)

So there's no need to arrange for it to be 'tested' first? I could just create a thread/upload the tactic and let people try it?

Thanks Riddick, much appreciated :)

If you play it over a season yourself, thats testing enough. Thats the route i'm taking anyway, 20 more games and i'll be preparing to upload my first tactic to FM Base :)

I'm wondering what I should train my youth players in...
At the moment my training schedules are seperated into 6 categories like this;

GK : Handling, Reflexes
Defenders : Speed, Strength, Tackling
Wingbacks : Attacking, Defending
Midfield : Attacking, Defending, Physical, Tactical
Wingers : Speed, Technical
Strikers : Physical, Technique

Can someone try to pick out the best schedule for a youth player in each category? The names are pretty self explanatory. Is it best to train their physical, tactical or technical attributes while they are young?

Also another question. Is there an age where players stop developing? Should I maybe focus less on older player's physical attributes?

Finally, one last question. Say if I have a speedy player who is poor technically, or a technically proficient player who lacks speed & strength is it best to train their weaknesses and make them more all rounded or focus on their strengths?

Any help greatly appreciated, I'm having plenty of trouble with training at the moment :(

How many clicks should I set my GK and defenders in terms of 'mentality' to utilise the nike defence?

I saw it on a thread earlier, but I can't remember the values of clicks, except for GK being 7 clicks.

wots the best way to go against a big team Man City when im port vale thanks

I hope not asked before, but when regens pop up does the quality of regen depend on youth facilities (and youth recruitment network) overall quality of coaches, coaches juding skills, pure luck or a mixture of everything i just mentioned im currently doing a LLM game with rotherham and basicly want to find out if theres anything i can do to improve the quality of youth without an amazing youth set up

i use a 4-2-3-1 tactic on my salzburg team and been doing pretty good for now.last season i managed to lose only once and this season by far i am not defeated in the championship and managed to get out of the groups of CL but i have the most anoying problem.both my strikers are pretty tall(boghossian and cleo) but i cannot seem to get my wingers to cross the ball to their heads and therefore dont get a lot of header goals.i tried everything to fix it but so far no succes.can you give me some advice as to what i need to do?i really want to use the height and physical attributes of my strikers.

Why I'm having bad results at mid seasson around january and february with every team I had played?

can someone tell me where is the page of the JP WOODY V5.0?
I really need the attributes the players in the tactic need!!!

How come my squads morale drops (for no reason) at certain points in the game (not specific ones, just random or so it seems)

I'm first in the league, we score like beasts and hardly concede any goals. Some players are always playing while some i kinda rotate due not that high stamina and such.

Any idea's?

My team have become fluid with all aspects of my tactic. I have just bought about 5 new players. do i need to use team blend, to gel the team together even thought all the bars are on fluid?
or should i just use attacking movement and defending movement as normal?

could anyone link me to a tactic that would work well for a team in scottish division 1 im raith rovers btw.

I use corners to far post and my best heading CB (8 goals in 24 games), not exactly prolific but he always wins his headers

What role is your lone forward on

His role is 'complete forward'.

4-4-1-1 Or 4-1-2-1-2 worked well with me

i played deep with both and used counter attack away and attack at home
