Tactics & Training: The " I have a small question " thread

Could someone explain to me how 'co-ownerships' in Italy works? Because i'm playing with Palermo and we co-own a RB who i was earmarking as my backup RB. Now i'm looking to select him and he is missing!!! In the seearch under team says Palermo but he's not on my team sheet! when i go to AC Milan he is there in the reserves!!! I didnt get any message saying that he was going to AC Milan. Someone please explain!

What area of training does 'Composure' come under? Trying to get a perfect schedule for Vaclav Kadlec.

Basically, i've just got middlesborough up to the prem, but on a very low budget i think i'll find it hard to stay up in my first season, therefore risking losing my job. So what i need is a tactic that will purely keep me up in the prem, so i can go on from there

I hear a lot of the time people say coaches and the star ratings for their roles (Training) aren't that signifcant

My question I suppose is, is it essential to have a training schedule besides the default routines to make the most of your players and if so can it potentially make a huge difference? Or a minor one?

I know a lot of people use Tugs or Dans for training just wondered if the benefits were essential

Quick question best tactic to use for a big physical side which ive turned my sampdoria team into but i just cant find the right tactic any quick advice?

I have a question

First sorry about my english I m from Bosnia.I have a small question and it is that my forwards rarely scor goals when they ar 1-on1 with keeper. Is it abouth them and witch roles should i gave them

I have just signed Jelle Vossen for Liverpool, he is a striker with some pretty good stats overall, especially for a poacher. However, the one department he is lacking in for a poacher is pace/acceleration where his stats are about 10. Through the right training, how much do you think I could be able to improve his speed by?

I'm playing liverpool with Danny Wilson n Phil Jones at the cetreback.. my problem is my trainig seems don't increase their defensive technique such as marking-heading-tackling. I could make Wilson have 16 on tackling but maximum of 15 at heading n marking. Jones got 15 of all three atributes, but he scores 22golas in a season..

Hello!
There are no accurate stats on goalkeepers. Is there a way, for example, to know the number of stops, one-against-one won, etc. ... ?

I'm not the kind of manager who likes to watch the full games (especially with low league teams) , so I would really like to have further stats (as we have for field players at the end of a fixture)

Thanks :)

Since there have been a few complaints about queries not being answered on this thread, and a lot of people bypassing them, I will try to answer them before I go off and do something else.

You can try to set up your defence as strongly as you can. Buy and loan players that are of at least a 3 * standard to your scouts and work on the tactical side of their defensive game - positioning, anticipation, decisions, tackling (etc.) then mould the tactic, through pre-season to make it a rigid, counter-attacking tactic. Defence is key.

The 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-1-4-1 and 4-2-3-1 deep are good tactics, in which employ three-man midfields and one striker upfront. Utilise this with a playmaker, hard-working midfielder and an aggressive ball-winning midfielder. A good target upfront to hold the ball up and bring others into the move is a good idea if you want to have someone who is strong and aerially-dominating.

Lastly, a strong, aggressive and tall team, especially one that is not a massive contender for mid-table, is a good way to stay in the Premier League. It may be ugly football, but it's successful football, and Wolves, among others, have deployed it. Now look where they are.

It is quite essential if you are looking to develop the stats of players who may not be amongst the best in the league. Often, you will find mid-table and relegation-tipped teams use the players they have and develop them to become the best they can because of the lack of investment or the inability to find players that are much better than their own.

I personally create my own schedules and focus on certain key players with seperate schedules so that they become more influential. Working on their weakest areas and making them more versatile in other positions is financially-benefitial and useful when key players are unavailable through injury or international duty.

It would be benefitial to have a good training schedule set-up if you are a team which doesn't benefit from quality players, and make the team a lot more versatile in more than one position. Work on their weakest areas and get you that little bit further than if you were to not do so.

Quick question best tactic to use for a big physical side which ive turned my sampdoria team into but i just cant find the right tactic any quick advice?

I would generally use the commonly-coined 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-3-1. Play a decently high defensive line so that it presses into the other half, with aggressive tackling (pressing on Default) narrow width, slow tempo and mid-Time Wasting. This will benefit you in retaining a large amount of possession and, with the strikers you have (Cassano, Pazzini) they can benefit from this and put in the goals.

Cassano on Deep-Lying Forward, Support/Complete Forward, Support and Pazzini on Advanced Forward. Just off the top of my head.

First sorry about my english I m from Bosnia.I have a small question and it is that my forwards rarely scor goals when they ar 1-on1 with keeper. Is it abouth them and witch roles should i gave them

Go onto their profiles and tell them to start 'Placing their shots'. You should do this if they have Finishing and Composure above 14/15.

Otherwise, they may shun this. If they reject it, just go on to making seperate schedules on them, improving their their Finishing and Composure (Tactics and Shooting on High/Intensive) and then ask them in around 3-5 months time.

He could improve his speed to a certain extent. It would take some time though, seeing as you would have to neglect a few areas of his training schedule to make him faster. Although, you don't necessarily have to make him a Poacher.

You can just select a different role (Deep-Lying Forward, Support/Attack, pick whichever) and mimick the role of a Poacher, as in going into Player Instructions and adopting the PI's of a Poacher. The requirements of a Deep-Lying Forward are not as demanding as a Poacher, so it would be advised.

If it still doesn't work in around 10-15 full games in that specialised role, just make a seperate schedule and follow the first suggestion.

I could make Wilson have 16 on tackling but maximum of 15 at heading n marking. Jones got 15 of all three atributes, but he scores 22golas in a season..

Put Defending on High, as well as Tactics so that it rapidly increases his/their attributes in that department. Also, try focusing on an individual part of his game in the Training part of his profile. Select the one you want improved on most and, within 3-5 months, he should be improving in that department. (Danny Wilson I am talking about)

Go onto the goalkeeper's profile that you want to see their stats and select Stats? That should come up with the statistical side of his game throughout the normal season.

If you look at the bottom of their Stats page, it should come up with the amount of clean sheets to games that they have had, goals conceded to the team as a whole does and the amount of minutes it has been since they last conceded.

Unfortunately, Football Manager (FM11 to be more specific) is not that accurate when it comes to goalkeeping statistics.

Well, I certainly hope that helped.

Hi everyone.
I would like a defensive tactic to play away from home at the Prem's bigger sides with Blackpool.
I've tried to make a few myself but to no avail.
Cheers

Instead of writing another several blocks of text, read this.

Can a player train a new position to be his 'natural' position, or can it only be 'accomplished'?

Can a player train a new position to be his 'natural' position, or can it only be 'accomplished'?

I think that it can only be 'Accomplished' but it depends on the hidden attribute Versatility. The higher the Versatility attribute, the much more easier it is for them to train a new position and stick to it.

I think that players with Versatility attributes higher than 15 can become Natural at their new position.

Hi

Could anyone give me any advice on how to train someone into a good Deep lying playmaker?

Set their Tactics and Ball Control to high, with their Defending and Attacking to medium in the training schedule.

Also look at some PPM's, 'Dwell on the Ball' , 'Tries Killer Passes' and 'Comes Deep to Get Ball' are good choices.

How do i improve a players flair?

Ball Control and Attacking set to high in a seperate training schedule.

Do Coaches stats go up ??

Yes they do over time, depending on their PA, a hidden three-digit number in the Editor that dictates how good they'll get.
