Tactics & Training: The " I have a small question " thread

Hey guys. Happy to have found this thread, and, obviously, I have a small question to ask.

Say I have a lot of injuries (I don't. Moderate at best), and say none of them are from training (True), all of them are from games and my players are generally in fantastic shape (90%+ form before every game), does training intensity still affect injuries?

Basically my question is; Does training intensity have any influence on injuries inflicted in games?

Very. Usually, there are training sessions that the team has a couple of days before the games as it would happen in real-life. Of course, people don't usually realise this but the intensity of training will fatigue players more, thus making muscles and injuries very vulnerable in games. Tackles, running, lengthy time spent on the pitch all add up to injuries that can last weeks and months at a time. A commodity is in hamstrings.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice about setting up a DC. I have tried most of the combinations (stopper/defend, defend/defend, stopper/cover) and generally have been able to understand how the 2 compliment each other.

Now I am considering playing a ball-playing defender as the cover and was hoping that someone could give me some advice on what PI's I definitely need to avoid. ie whether setting wide play to 'move into channels' or 'cuts inside' would be dangerous for the rest of defence, or any other potential pitfalls in the PI's that anyone else has come across when setting up a deep lying creator.

thanks :)

Ok I need a answer ASAP!!! The opponenet keeps the scoring goals the same way. A winger runs down the flank, does a low cross in the box, and a striker bangs the ball in. My defender never get to the ball and I'm losing tons of goals because of it. HELP

I've searched the forum but can't find anything on how to make a 5-man defence work? I don't want a plug and play downloadable tactic, I just want some help on making it work, if anyone knows of anyone who's done that? Sort of like iNickStuff's tactical thread in stickies, except he hasn't done a 5 man defence. :)

I've been trying to find a guide to QPR, but failed. Does one exist? If so can you send me the link please.

Use opposition instructions, closing down always and show onto weaker foot to opposition wingers, that should help at least a little.

It depends on how you set the other players, but you should use wingbacks who will join the attacks, maybe even acting as wingers, making them to be your only wide players. For example 5-1-2-2, where you have 3 CBs, 2 wingbacks, 1 DM, 2 CMs and 2 strikers. 3 CBs, nothing weird there, just 3 central defenders on defend. You can also try to mix it up a bit, using central CB in cover duty, but testing and watching games gives you better idea how you should build your tactic.

what is "move into channels", who should have that command, what does it mean? how does their movement differ from "cut inside"

Cut inside is a with the ball move and move into channels is without the ball. If you have a winger that you want to go straight at goal or to make that final t-ball, then use cut inside. If you want the same player to just move inside the area without the ball, then tell him to move into channels

Basicly searches for space between defenders, for example space between centre back and fullback. Cut inside is with the ball instruction, so when player recieves the ball, he cuts inside, when he doesn't have the ball, cut inside doesn't have any affect.

feel his finishing, pace and attacking skills are wasted at defensive mid, should I train him as a poacher? or winger?

He kind of lacks in 2 of the most important stats for a poacher: Off the ball and Flair

Which role plays closest to the cb's? anchorman, defensive mid defend or deeplying playmaker defend?

ok, but how do you retrain a position for a player? I see many people discussing if they should retrain their players to different positions than their original one

Click at the player, click training and then( to the left) you see where to put him on that kind of training

If by fav, you mean natural in a certain position ( not a role as inside forward is), then you cant.

It is possible, at least for some players. Players who learn new position quickly can reach natural, if you continue training that position and often use the player in that position.

xD sorry I'm a bit high. Anyways I think its a normal limited defensive midfielder. Get the role from TBH's website.
