Tactics & Training: The " I have a small question " thread

What is a good pitch size choice? I can't make my mind up. I tend to play 4-5-1's, 4-4-2's and other similar variations which uses Wingers a lot. I don't wanna have too big a pitch that my CMs get dominated for possession due to wide play and I don't want too small a pitch that I can't get any width. Or does the whole pitch size thing even have an impact big enough to fuss over?
 
i just found a tactic labelled as a 'match engin exploit', WHAT IS THAT?? how does it work?
if this has been discussed before, pliz link me the page..
my search engin is not working.. :S

Basically means that it exploits weaknesses in the match engine, in the coding of the game. In most of the cases, its because one is using the more extreme settings in combinations for it each other, settings that the testers of the games never meant for us to be using and therefore has not been tested. It can also be because of a weaknesses in the setup of the wizard that the AI is using. When the AI is playing Balanced or Defensive and wants to play more safe, standing off the ball, using these cautious shouts, their tactic setup becomes flawed( not an engine flaw but just really poor choice of how the wizard should work), leading to that teams playing very wide and high up in the pitch as well as teams playing very defensive but aggressive possession football simply will win every single match against them

thanks for the elaboration, honestly I'm still confuse..
is the corner bug (fm 2010) is one of the example? and can it really be saved into a tactic?
i mean, if i apply this 'match engin exploit' tactic then the exploit is commence automatically..

GK - defend
CB - Limited defender - defend
CB - Ball playing defender - cover
WBR/WBL - Wing back - Automatic
CM - Advanced playmaker - Support
CM - Centre mid - Support
STR - Poacher - Attack
STC - Deep lying forward - Support
STL - Poacher - Attack

Struggling for CCC's, anyone idea why and what I can change?

Do you play one DM for one player you miss there?

Anyways, you didn't play width perhaps is the problem? As your WBR/WBL are forced to do defensive duties and attacking duties heavily?
 
I uploaded my tactic but when i go to the download page days later it doesn't appear. So I wanna know how do I put my tactic properly in the download page.

Is it possible to train a player for a position so that it will be his most favourite position, or is the level "accomplished" the highest you can achieve? (I want to train Neymar for the position AML)

At least for some players it is possible to train the positional level to natural, but it requires that he plays that position regularly and is training the right position. I think hidden attribute versatility effects if he can learn it or not, or at least it effects how quickly it gets to natural.
 
wingers shooting

I'm playing as arsenal and whenever my wingers (inside forwards) are at the far edge of the 18, they shoot, and either miss or have i saved by the keeper. If it helps my main wingers are walcott and hazard. any way to get them to pass in that situation?
 
I have started a barcelona game and want to use busquets to be an outlet for xavi and keep possession. I do not want him to try anything else such as through balls etc but to just receive the ball and then play another simple pass. How is best to do this? Is it better for him to have mixed or short passing? And is it best for him to have high or low creative freedom?
 
Hi, I just noticed my scout's judging player ability & potential ratings are declining, is there any way to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

Set his passing to the shortest, limit his Creative Freedom so that he doesn't roam anywhere and become prone to losing possession and make his Mentality quite Defensive. From then on, he should act as a holding midfielder and play off short passes to the nearest and best option possible.

You can get new scouts in to replace them, I don't think there is much you can do when their attributes are declining I'm afraid. Or at least, not that I know of.

For starts, you can try the Advanced Forward role and the Poacher role.
 
I'm trying to counter-attack with one of my central defenders to play long balls over the top to my poacher.

Setting my defender to ball playing defender to enable him to provide counter attacking opportunities automatically sets his passing slider to shorter/mixed passing should i alter this to long ball for this to work more effectively?
 
How can you increase a players intelligence on the pitch?
What do you need to train him on?

I have a question. Is it possible to withdraw a contract offer for a coach? Because I found a coach for my team and decided to offer him a contract, but now i've found a better one and decided to offer him a contract instead, but i can't seem to be able to withdraw the offer for the other coach, so is there anyway to withdraw the offer?

Just tried this you should be able to go the the coach's page and top right of it there should be 'withdraw contract offer' , same as for a player. If you don't have that for some reason you could just simply cancel the transfer when he agrees on the contract.

Thanks for the reply, I never did have a withdraw contract offer on the coach. I forgot about the cancel the transfer bit, i've sorted it now,cheers! :)
