TFF's Tactic Testing League

I'm a bit confused with this Underdog and Favourite tests , are we saying that if we are favourites to win a title we should be using the best Underdog tactic ?? , why is everyone only testing tactics using the underdog test ?? am i missing something

Mate, I can tell that my experience shows that if some tactic performs better than other tactic in Underdog save then this tactic will also perform better than the other tactic in Favorite save and I haven't encounter a case when it wasn't true, especially, if some tactic is clearly better than other tactic in Underdog save then in my testing this tactic is also always clearly better than the other tactic in Favorite save too.

So I find that you get quite accurate results about the tactics' quality when you test them only in Underdog save.

But of course, if you have any doubts and you think that some tactic might perform better than other tactic in Favorite save even that it performed worse in Underdog save then you always can test these tactics in Favorite save and compare the results to make sure.

I suggest starting testing in Underdog save and if you think that some tactics might show surprisingly different results in Favorite save then you always can test them Favorite save but as I said in my testing if some tactic is clearly better than other tactic in Underdog save then this tactic is also always better than the other tactic in Favorite save.

Damnit you tested it too soon. Not done tweaking it yet. Any chance you can test these instead?

Any further info on this Crusho? Any OI's?

Looks interesting, I'm struggling to be happy with all these strikerless tactics and no wide men!

Had some good success with your Praetorian in one of the early patches!

This is what i'm working on now... when i have time...
No O.I , balanced & attacking training

Ive been testing some tactics , i'm surprised at how random the results are between Team A and team B for the same tactic , how does that happen ?, is it because of Holidaying through ? , i would have thought freezing everything and having tactic familiarity at full would give consistent results, i'm questioning how effective the test is tbh , ive tested the same tactics using another test method and they have come back different to the results i get with this test, does setting everything up and then holidaying through affect anything ?

Is there any way of just having one team in the league to test tactics with , i'm not sure about two teams in the same league using the same tactics is giving consistency ?

Mate, in this testing league “Randomness” is about 100 times less compare with the real game-play, take only one improvement in this testing league that forces all AI teams in the testing league to use almost the same starting eleven for all matches, also, the testing teams use the same starting eleven for all matches, only that improvement already immensely reduces “Randomness” in the testing league compare with the real game-play.

But you see that even in such “perfect” testing league there might be like about 30 points difference between Team A and Team B at the end of the season when you test the same tactic with both teams, all that clearly shows that it’s just impossible to see the effect from small changes if you test only for 85 matches even in such “perfect” testing league where “Randomness” is about 100 times less compare with the real game-play.

If you compare two very similar tactics or looking to see the effect from very small change then 85 matches or 170 matches is like a drop in ocean even in such “perfect” testing league and in order to see it you need to test for about 10-20 seasons; 1700 – 3400 matches.

As you can see FM is very well protected from “Brutal” force approaches, you just can’t make some small change then test for few matches and clearly see what effect it has a positive or negative; even 85 matches in a “perfect” testing league don’t give you answer.

P.S. Don’t treat the results of Team A and Team B as two separate results, treat them as one result and sum up the results of Team A and Team B, these teams play between each other during the season and during these matches they share 15 possible points and it's random which team gets points so you should always sum up the results of Team A and Team B and the end of the season.

Thanks for the reply , yeah i noticed sometimes a 30 point difference between A&B, i forgot about them playing each other which means they take points off each other. i'm doing 3 tests with each tactic which is 510 games, i then add all the points up and divide by 6 , that gives me average points , i do this for Home and away as well.

I would love to do more tests per tactic , but it takes about 30 - 40 minutes for each test thats on Holidaying through, so i get bored after 3 tests :) , i'll stick with this testing league though its throwing up different results to what ive seen before so i might find another tactic that i dismissed before.

Mate, 1 test (170 matches) that takes about 30-35 minutes on my PC only helps you split tactics into these categories:

1) Very Bad
2) Bad
3) Average
4) Good
5) Very Good

But if you want to find out which of tactics from “Very Good” category is the best one or if you want to find out which Team Shape “Fluid” or “Very Fluid” is better for your tactic then be ready to test for about 10-20 times ( 1700 – 3400 matches)
