I was going to make a thread on that, but decided it against it because I figured somebody would post it here, and also because I knew it would bring up the racism discussion again. Not that it makes it any better, but it had nothing to do with his skin colour (I'm pretty sure it didn't anyway because white players were also on the end of the same, and Turkey is not a racist place.)

They often throw things at players, honestly it has nothing to do with his skin colour. Here's an example of a white player having things thrown at him in Turkey:

It's part of their 'football culture'. Not saying it's right but it's got nothing to do with racism. In Argentina it happens (or used to happen), although if things get serious the police usually intervenes and whacks the living **** out of the fans. Stupid, really, but it's more of a culutural thing than racism or anything like that.

but for Emre Belözoğlu, it was more of rivalry hate, like how we gunners hate adeboyer and threw **** at him in that man city v. arsenal game.
