I'll just leave this here.

What We Pay Our Players - Part 1 | Forty-Nine

Right so id though id share a bit of information with some of the fans, some are spot on figures some are pretty much guestimations.

As we are the 4-5th biggest wage payers in the Premiership with around £100-120Million going out of our massive income a year, i thought i would break it down for yourselves.
Our wage structure is often criticised for not being sufficient enough to attract the very top players, but in essence we do pay a **** of a lot of our players, mediocre players albeit some hefty sum a year.

Just before i do this i will miss out a few of the youth players that I don’t deem first team-ers as such, even though they may be playing now due to injuries.

Goalkeepers:

Almunia – £60,000 PW = £3,120,000 PY
Fabianski – £50,000 PW = £2,600,000 PY
Mannone – £30,000 PW = £1,560,000 PY
Szczesny – £50,000 PW = £2,600,000 PY
Total Wage Bill Per Week = £190,000 PW
Total Wage Bill Per Year = £9,880,000 PY

Defenders:

Sagna – £60,000 PW = £3,120,000 PY
Santos – 50,000 PW = £2,600,000 PY
Gibbs – £40,000 PW = £2,080,000 PY
Jenkinson – £20,000 PW = £1,040,000 PY
Koscielny – £50,000 PW = £2,600,000 PY
Mertesacker – 60,000 PW = £3,120,000 PY
Vermaelen -£70,000 PW = £3,640,000 PY
Squillaci – £60,000 PW = £3,120,000 PY
Djourou – £50,000 PW = £2,600,000 PY
Total Wage Bill Per Week = £460,000 PW
Total Wage Bill Per Year = £23,920,000 PY

Midfielders:

Arteta – £70,000 PW = £3,640,000 PY
Wilshere – £55,000 PW = £2,860,000 PY
Ramsey – £55,000 PW = £2,860,000 PY
Song – £55,000 PW = £2,860,000 PY
Benayoun – £70,000 PW (On Loan – Season) = £3,640,000 PY
Arshavin – £70,000 PW = £3,640,000 PY
Rosicky – £60,000 PW = £3,120,000 PY
Coquelin – £25,000 PW = £1,300,000 PY
Diaby – £50,000 PW = £2,600,000 PY
Total Wage Bill Per Week =£497,000 PW
Total Wage Bill Per Year = £26,520,000 PY

Strikers:

Van Persie – £90,000 PW – £4,680,000 PY
Chamakh – £60,000 PW = £3,120,000 PY
Gervinho – £55,000 PW = £2,860,000 PY
Walcott – £70,000 PW = £3,640,000 PY
Park – £40,000 PW = £2,080,000 PY
Miyaichi – £15,000 PW = £780,000 PY
Oxlade-Chamberlain PW – £20,000 PW = £1,040,000 PY
Henry – £70,000 PW(On Loan – 2 Months) – £560,000 For The Loan

Total Wage Bill Per Week = £420,000 PW
Total Wage Bill Per Year = £18,760,000 PY
Squad Total Wage Bill Per Week = £1,567,000
Squad Total Wage Bill Per Year = £79,080,000

So yes there is the guestimation along with some known facts and that comes to a total of £79,080,000. You have to remember this does not include any squad bonuses, any single player bonuses, where for example Arshavin earns a single £15,ooo every time he starts a game on top of his £70,000 a week wage.

So you could say around £20-40Million of the total submitted by Arsenal are in bonuses or we are going somewhere totally wrong with wages.

Just think how dramatically the squad wage total would go down if you were to remove some of the dead wood. Players that have been injured numerous amounts of time and so on.
Luckily though if we are to have a Home game each week that bring in alone around £3Million, which easily covers the player wages. So where does the rest go?

That doesn’t even include Cup Bonuses, TV Deals, Sponsorships and so on. We are going somewhere wrong. And to think we have a net spend of £6Million, it is indeed a joke.

Thats all for today, please make sure to give feedback and follow myself at either @AlexFortyNine or @FortyNineBlog on twitter.

Yours Goonerly.

Almunia – £60,000 PW
Arshavin – £70,000 PW
Walcott – £70,000 PW
Chamakh – £60,000 PW
Rosicky – £60,000 PW
Diaby – £50,000 PW
Squillaci – £60,000 PW
Djourou – £50,000 PW
Mannone – £30,000 PW

I really like your wage structure guys!

I REALLY can't see Squillaci on £60k p/w. I'd like to know where this person got the 'guestimations' from. Gibbs £40k and Jenkinson £20k? Don't be silly, AW isn't THAT stupid...

i would not be surprised, arsenal have one of the smallest wages differences. it their biggest problem. Top players paid to little relative to their status, average players paid too much

If so then something needs to be sorted. The Wilshere and Walcott ones are near enough correct and are absolutely ridiculous - £55k every week for a 19 year old (who isn't currently playing)?

It's been known for ages that we have huge wages for some players who really don't deserve it. Thankfully Almunia, Squillaci, Arshavin and maybe Chamakh will leave in the summer which takes £250k off - plus Yossi probably won't be signed and Rosicky might be on a lower wage if he is given a new contract.

As for Wilshere, didn't he re-sign last season right in the middle of him being a key player which would explain his high wage and Diaby is on what he is because he got a new contract when he was playing well and before he played 2 games a season.

Edit - Wilshere re-signed 1st November 2010.

so apparently, the Russian transfer window is still open. pretty much if a anzhi deal for arshavin can BE done.

And not be able to bring in anyone to make up for losing him?

Yeah, that would be a smart move.

Eisfeld gone into the reserve squad, is playing for the reserves tonight against Swansea.

not as if he is actually doing anything. just start chamberlain instead

Agreed. Walcott, Benayoun and The Ox can suffice whilst Gervinho is at the ACON, then rotate them with JYP as backup. Even Rosicky can fill in if needed.

all are better than a player who hasnt really performed in 18 months

The biggest issue with Arshavin is that he hasn't put any effort in those 18 months, not only his performances. Torres hasn't performed in a year but he gives his best every time he's on the pitch. Arshavin, on the other hand, is a lazy ****.
