Goalkeeper, Reice Charles-Cook, left-back Samir Bihmoutine, winger Hector Bellerin, play-maker Kristoffer Olsson, striker Phil Roberts and versatile midfielder Jordan Wynter have all had their scholarships turned into professional deals. Good moves.
Others scholars Alban Bunjaku, Jeffrey Monakana and James Campbell have been released. Bunjaku and Monakana have already joined new clubs, in Sevilla and Preston. Campbell has moved to Dundee on trial.
Bunjaku is a talented play-maker, with bags of potential, but coaches have become frustrated with his attitude, and he's moved abroad on excellent terms. Monakana and Campbell good lads, but didn't quite make the grade. Wish them luck.
Elsewhere, Arsenal have a new and very exciting crop of scholars.
Goalkeeper Josh Vickers, centre backs Thomas Dallison and Leander Siemann, full-backs Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill and Arinse Uade, defensive midfielder Glenn Roberts, play-maker Jack Jebb, wingers Tarum Dawkins and Alfred Mugabo and forwards Chuba Akpom, Alex Iwobi and Austin Lipman. Like the look of this group.
Akpom, Jebb and Lipman are rated as one of the best talents in the country, while lots of scouts are excited about left-back Ormonde-Ottewill, who's very much in the Ashley Cole mould.
All in all, some smart decisions and some excellent prospects there. Will be interesting to see how they develop."
