As for van Persie to Man City, it's a possibility, not taking anything away for it, but 1. he's said to be really wanting to go to Italy, and 2. no way will we get Dzeko AND de Jong AND cash, let alone one of them plus money.

Not expecting it, but we can ask? Depends a lot how desperate Mancini is to get RVP.

Meh, stories coming out that he's considering going back on his word and actually signing a new deal. We'll see.

SSN reporter claiming that RVP leaving is not necessarily going to happen, seems it is of a very similar situation to Rooney at United a few years back

Claiming why he would continually meet with the club and board if he had made his mind up, would not be surprised if he signs a contract extension rather than leave

Personally, cannot see it happening, he knows staying at Arsenal would probably mean no real success in competitions, where as joining a bigger team like City, Madrid, Barca ETC he is going to compete on every front

To be fair though, Rooney did it to earn a massive contract. Why would RVP want to stay at Arsenal when he can get more money and possibly success at Man City

Totally agree, only saying when SS were reporting

Apparently Fiorentina have not made a bid for Chamakh and will not be able to afford his wages, also news on Jovetic from ESPN.

16.30 BST:
Here are the quotes from Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade on the fee for Stevan Jovetic: "We have always said that we do not want to sell him. However, we have an agreement with the player that we will consider offers above a certain figure," Prade said. "We will only sit down and discuss offers above €30m [£23.7m]. He has the potential to become a top player like [Roma's Francesco] Totti. We have not yet received any offers for Stevan, though."

Kind of weird because just a couple days ago they said he had a release clause of something like
22m.

It is possible that his release clause is 22m but if the club get's cocky they can make the player pay it so the player would have to justify a 22m income and with the added taxes you would probably be looking to 30m or more overall.

Would take a massive apology from him to the fans for us to even start forgiving him. Doubt it will happen though.

His release clause is 40m. Signed a new contract not too far back and it was changed then

I don't see why people are hating/disliking Van Persie. All he said was he isn't going to sign an extension to his contract, so he will play out his remainding year with Arsenal and that basically means he fufilled his commitment to the club. He said it purely to let the fans know what's happening. He doesn't owe us anything more. Sure people would say we had faith in him and because of Arsenal he is where he is now but footballers careers are not very long and he didn't even hand in a transfer request and demand to move. He's fufilling his commitment to the club, what more do RVP dislikers want?

I don't overly care that he wants to leave, not happy but I can understand he wants to win things. It's the other things he had to say in his statement that has got a lot of people riled up though.

And that statement didn't say he was going to see out his final year, that was effectively requesting a transfer.

RVP's statement was not to do with "letting the fans know". He knew what he was doing, he was burning his bridges at the clubs, so that it would be untenable for the club to hold onto him.

Nah it wouldnt, Fans are fickle.. One minute they will call them, but if he starts playing well and scores people will like him again

Same happened with Rooney, Tevez... ETC

I think most fans want to blame it on his agent. After all that announcement smelled bit of agent talk. So he comes out and blames it on agent and signs a new contract and at least some of the fans will be back singing he scores when he wants.

Exactly. He will be back scoring goals and Arsenal fans will continue to chant his name

That goalkeeper kit is quite possibly the worst I have ever seen.
