Doesn't mean to say Fabregas wants to move to United, even as a second choice after staying at Barca.

As I've said before, when a bid like this is played out so publicly, its because 2 of the 3 parties is open to the idea of a move. Given how quick Barcelona are to shoot down a bid, fair to say they are not one of the two. Doesn't mean it will happen, or that he is desperate to leave. Bear in mind this is going on 6 weeks now and he hasnt said anything since before the first bid.

The idea that Fabregas will go back to Arsenal out of love is odd. If love was the main thing he'd a) still be there and b) would be openly rejecting leaving Barcelona despite repeated bids. He is a serial winner, with the World Cup on his mind.

Agreed there is plenty of time.

i wouldn't usually bring it up, but the fact it is Arsenal and they have a history of it would make me slightly worried

In past seasons we didn't really have the money to spend like we do now. Also our "socialist" wage structure is coming to it's end allowing us to offer more competive wages for top players.

Or Barca are open to idea, but not at those prices previously offered by Utd.

Cesc has many times said he isn't even thinking about leaving Barca so I really doubt he is one of those parties open to idea. But we will see about that soon if you truly do that 3rd bid.

Yep, so everyone says... still very skeptical until they actually sign somebody

He said that before the first bid, and has said nothing since, two bids have been made, after a month of contact. Still nothing about staying to fight his place. So he cant be that determined. If it was Barca as one of the two parties, why isn't he resisting the sale?

Whens the £40million and 2 bid going in for Suarez? On a serious note you not making any signings doesnt really matter at this point. United and Spurs have not improved their teams from last season and Chelsea have signed a few but nobody special. But with Spurs signing Soldado you could be fighting for that 4th place trophy that the Arsenal players fought so hard for last season. And celebrated so much with at the end of the season.

Soldado is a huge signing for Spurs, it's exactly what they lacked last season. If they keep Bale ( which I can't really see but you know what Levy is like) then they are a force to be reckoned with.

Paulinho and Soldado are pretty big signings... add Sandro is back aswell

Chelsea didnt need to strengthen that much with the amount of youngsters coming back to the club. But Schurlle is also a good signing. Lukaku, De Bruyne, Van Ginkel all good young players... and Essien back with Mourinho at Chelsea

Arsenal very much need to make a move, as do Liverpool and Everton if they want to try and get that 4th spot

Would disagree with you on the Chelsea part. Schurrle is a wonderful prospect who adds another dimension to our attack along with depth and versatility. Van Ginkel is one of Europe's premiere midfield prospects and arguably the most complete midfielder in the world for his agre group.

Not to mention the amount of youngsters that are coming back to the club. De Bruyne and Lukaku are class acts. Kalas will add much needed depth across the backline and is a good prospect as well as a full international. Basically for the price of two players, we have made as much as 5 signings this season.

And err we signed Mourinho. So nobody special?

A) What Quasit said.
B) That doesn't definitely mean 2 out of 3 parties are open to the move happening. It could simply be United wanting to appease fans to show they are trying for someone, or even trying to get Fabregas to be unsettled and ask to leave (Lowering the price). Unfortunately for United, Fabregas has said he doesn't want to leave, and I don't see why United having to bid more would change his mind. I promise you, even if Barca agreed a fee with United, he would say no. And if he was forced to leave Barca for whatever reason, the only English club, perhaps only club, that he would want to go back to is Arsenal.

He has publicly said he doesn't want to leave, so why would he need to constantly repeat himself. And he loved Arsenal, but he also loved Barca more. They are in his country, he grew up in Barca as a Barca fan, his friends play for Barca, and they were the worlds best team... why wouldn't he want to go back there? I love Leeds, but I love Arsenal more...

But will Paulinho get ahead of Dembele? I've seen Paulinho play once so I'd be interested to hear your opinions. I forgot about Sandro he was a big miss in the second half of last season. Add to that Kabul if he can get back to his best and its like signing two new first team players. If they keep Bale and Sandro and Kabul get back to their best then they could have a crack at second place. (I think City will run away with it this season as United haven't strengthened and everyone else is miles behind the Manchester clubs). But like I said it will be interested to hear your opinions on Paulinho. He looks a little light weight so it might take some time for him to adapt and adjust to the premier league.

Chelsea might have got some young prospects in and got some back on loan but how many signings have they made that will improve the first team?

You can count on one hand the amount of times United play a transfer out publicly like this. It's nothing to do with appeasing the fans. Coming out publicly for a player we know we can't get does more damage to Moyes than anything he'd gain from being seen to be going for big signings, therefore, we must be confident.

If we were just trying to unsettle him then everything else in your post is wrong, we wouldn't try and unsettle someone who's so settled.

It's amazing how just having him linked with us has put Arsenal fans into meltdown, though.

Paulinho - Sandro

Lennon - Dembele - Bale

Soldado

Its a very good looking line up... for me any 3 teams can win the league ( United, City or Chelsea ) ... You'll have Arsenal and Tottenham challenging behind them and then Liverpool and Everton to try and break into that mix
