Call it whatever you want ... It's working. If Chelsea win, the press laud us for days on the end. If we draw against West Brom, Jose spins some **** about how we are not ready and no ones gives a ****. Compare that to when City win or lose and you'll see the difference

It's not working, unless you are a complete moron who can't see straight through it. By the way, a good number of journalists are seeing right through. And its the better ones like Rory Smith, Tony Evans, Sid Lowe (who has been calling him out on since Madrid).

I agree with Jose, Wenger is a failure, he's a manager and it's his job to win games/trophies, not to keep the club finances under control or whatever else.

It is his job though. We don't have a billionaire investor, so we have to actually be careful what we spend. If Wenger had spent as much as Mourinho has, we wouldn't have a new stadium, and we would be in tonnes of debt. There is no doubting Mourinho is a world-class manager, but Wenger is too. Apart from at Porto (Where he still had alot to spend compared to the rest of the league), all Jose's success has been mainly down to exspensive signings. Which is why he will never be in the same bracket as Sacchi, Paisley, Ferguson, etc.

Eh ... I think that's going too far. I think Wenger has done an excellent job but it's annoying when people put him in the same league as SAF and Mourinho. The guy hasn't won a trophy for the last 8 years. He will go down in history as an excellent manager but certainly not one of the best imo

Agreed except the majority of Fleet Street have been all too happy to put City under the microscope more than Chelsea ... And to be fair, their is some truth in what Jose has said. City do have an amazing squad. Chelsea are top of the table but they are still second-best when it comes to the league

Thats rubbish. Even Ferguson spent big money when he needed to yet you will never say his success was down to money ... Same with Jose

He spent money, but nowhere near as much as Mourinho. I didn't say all Jose's success was down to money, but alot of it was built upon that.

Fun fact: Fleet Street has very few journalists in it now. The area's full of lawyers and bankers these days.

I don't get it. Are we commenting on the story/bullshit around it or what was actually said?

If you look at what was said, rationally it makes perfect sense. People arn't even looking at the actual exchang with the journalists but some **** and bull story made up that Wenger thinks Mourinho will fail. He speculated about the reason for the 'little horse' nonsense. And as far as I'm concerned the sooner Mourinho starts shutting his ******* mouth and starts keeping his talking exclusively to his players the better.

Exactly! Mourinho saying Wengers a failure specialist?!? Have you gone a whole prem season unbeaten Jose? No, so shut up. I mean yes, he hasn't won a trophy for a long, but if he was a failure specialist, then why would Arsenal get in the top four every year, and why would they keep Arsene?

Surely you'll have trouble getting all those "got into the top 4" trophies in your cabinet?

GETTING ARSENAL (ONE OF THE TOP TEAMS IN ENGLAND) IN TOP 4 IS SO SO HARD AND IT IS EQUAL TO A TROPHY. OMG OMG OMGOMGOMG SHUT UP JOSE!111

Some of you are really butthurt now that Jose has told the truth about Wenger. Cry me a river.

Wenger actually never picked out Jose. Jose assumed it was about him and went straight in. It's all a bit pathetic. Though I wish Jose would just shut up for once. It's not mind games he's just being obnoxious

Wenger was asked "why some managers say they are not contenders" and he answered with "it's a fear to fail". You would have to be a very thick person to not see who that question was about and it was about Jose and Rodgers.

I'd say Wenger came out of it looking pretty good. His original comment was rational, and sensible.

Mourinho, despite being the top of the table, has said Chelsea arn't title contenders, despite the squad and the investment he has got is pretty laughable. I've had this discussion with many fans from many sides and they all find it quite bemusing. One of the two bankrolled clubs in the league, spent the most in January, excellent squad, top of the league - yet arn't contenders...

Lastly, if you're going to use quotation marks, use them correctly for an actual quote. Or better yet link the press conference.

At the end of the day it seems like Mourinho was called out on his bullshit, and ended up looking rather stupid. Wenger came in before the LFC press conference and brushed it off well.

Chelsea are building a side this team is not balanced yet he is building this side this season hence why he says we are not favourites or its not our main objective to win the title this season. How hard is that for people to understand???

You never actually used your own money to purchase the stadium in the 1st place without investment you would still be at Highbury but that's another argument for another day. Wenger in my opinion and this has been my opinion for quite some time now is a sensational coach. Arguably the best at turning average players into sensational players but his main strength back in the day was his and his teams scouting knowledge and they got to players first. Then the rest of England wised up and caught on and now his strength is just the same as everyone else's and now days the board are happy to keep him on because of how well he develops players which they then sell on for a healthy profit!

Jose's team at Porto should never have won the Champions league which ever way you look at it whether they spent more money than anyone else in Portugal which maybe they did i don't know how much they spent they should not have won the two European trophies in the 2 years that they did nothing to do with money. I hear all this spending loads of money at Chelsea thing all the time and yes there is no denying he spent money but how many of the players we signed were "world class" or even well known for that instance. The players Jose signed in his first season were Drogba who had 1 good season a massive gamble, Tiago nothing to write home about, Jarosik yeah exactly, Kezmen who never worked out, Ferreira was a steady player and the only one who was quality was Carvalho. What he done instead was improve the likes of Cech, Duff, JT, and Lampard etc nothing to do with money.

No he may not have an unbeaten season but he does have the highest points tally, most wins in a season (twice), most home wins in a season (joint with City and Utd, most away wins in a season, fewest goals conceded in a season, fewest goals conceded away from home in a season, most clean sheets in a season and many many more..........

You're top of the league and have outplayed and beaten or drawn most of your rivals, so when he says you're not favourites for the title, people think it looks stupid. How hard is that to understand???

Every team is building. No team is finished. It doesn't mean you don't have a great squad of players already who have proven over 2/3 of the season they're capable of the title.

Jose has not said we CAN'T win the title though which is something people are just looking over. He is saying that we are not favourites and that it was not the main objective this season which is true.

Oh for god's sake , even if Jose came to press conference, took a dump at the table and left without saying a word, people would still try to proclaim it as victorious mind game and masterful manipulation.

He took the squad that won two european trophies back to back and comforttably finished 3rd last year. Then he strengthen it with 100m worth of new signings. Nobody buys into this underdog bullshit, not even Chelsea players themselves.

Well its something he has done his whole career and i think its safe to say its obviously worked for him so why wouldn't he do it?

I'm laughing so hard at this image that I'm actually crying. xD

Everyone keeps ignoring the fact that Chelsea players were never meant to buy into it ...

That doesn't mean squat if we can't beat the small teams which is what we have trouble doing ... We don't have a striker. City have pretty much an amazing squad with the majority of players in their prime. Chelsea are not favourites for the title even if Jose exaggerates that part a lot. That much is clear

No you're not. United are struggling to beat little teams. You've had blips where you haven't won a game you should have, but so does every team in every season ever. City have had blips. Liverpool have. Arsenal have. You're still top, you're clear of City by 3 points. If you make it to this stage of the season top of the table, you become favourites. Simple as. Everton, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool are your only 'difficult' games left, and Liverpool is the only one away from home. And you've dropped the grand total of 4 points at home all season. If you can't see why people have made you favourites from this moment, then I'm lost for words.

Clear of City who have a game in hand, let's not forget. They also have a brilliant squad and key players returning such as Aguero and Fernandinho whereas Chelsea are relying heavily on Hazard, a 32 year-old striker and a 33 year-old central defender. We lack depth in certain key areas. We have no striker. Matic certainly can't be expected to play every game like a beast. In short, City's squad is far better equipped to win the league compared to Chelsea's and this is not forgetting that the majority of the City players are in their prime

Jose 100% exaggerates our incompetency but saying that we are favourites for the title and not City is laughable. Also before some guy comes here and says that Chelsea's players themselves don't believe what Jose says, that's the whole point. If we win, they get lauded as heroes. If they lose, Jose will say some **** about how they are not ready and the press will leave them alone. Pressure is totally off them. Jose has been doing it for so long ...

In fact, journalists like Neil Ashton have also said that Jose told the squad to ignore whatever he says in press-conferences and has told them that they will be champions at th end of the season
